complete waste of time! they kept several new pairs of Kankans and MANY other things and offered me $70. No thanks.

If I could give 0 stars if I would. First when I dropped off my clothes, I wasn't told the limit then was yelled at by the owner for bringing in more items. Second, went I went to pick up my clothes and they took only 3 purses. They told me "they were being very selective" yet it didn't looked like they had touched the clothes at all. Lastly, I received my texted to come back to the store 15 minutes after I had left. I dropped off a lot of items so I assumed that it would take a while. I was nearly home when I received my text. Update 4/27/18: It's been months since I posted my initial review and I maintain that great score. Not only have I been buying from here but did sell some pieces. I had bought a closeout final sale shoe from online and found out it was wayy too big for my feet. Brand new, tags, box, everything, and I couldn't return it because final sale. I thought about selling it on eBay, Facebook or Craigslist but that involves dealing with potentially shitty bidders or no call no shows. It sat in my closet for a month and then I started digging stuff out to sell back and brought that pair of booties in and sure enough, they picked it up and sold by the next week (I know because I ended up coming back the following week haha). Overall my warddrobe has been leveling up and I'm shedding clothes I no longer love, including the ones that are "too nice and new" to readily send off to Goodwill. Now I can redeem them for stuff I actually want. The ratio of "stuff I halfheartedly like" vs "stuff I absolutely love" has been decreasing and now I have a plethora of dresses to choose from. I've successfully segued from T shirts and jeans and looking like a teenager to dressing like an actual legit adult. Life is good and I thank Clothes Mentor for having a well curated selection and amazing prices. Screw Goodwill. It smells weird, my fingers feel all sticky and gross after browsing there, and the crap to cool stuff ratio is abysmal. You won't always be successful at selling here or at Plato's Closet, but I think it's testimony to how carefully the choose items so that you don't have to choose from craptacular clothes. I hadn't been in to this store for almost a year, but to start the new year I decided to clean out my closet, so I headed in to the EP Clothes Mentor store with my very gently used clothes and shoes (lots of stuff with the tags still attached, never worn) and dropped it off for assessment. I used to have decent luck both bringing stuff in to sell and finding good deals on the rack at this store, but not so much anymore. When I returned three days after my drop-off, the sales girl just gave my bags back and told me it was a "no sale" because some of the items were too worn to be eligible? Ok, I get that-maybe ONE OR TWO were, but I was puzzled as to why they wouldn't want the new, never worn (beautiful) Guess heels, or the twice-used Coach clutch in my haul. I was sure they'd at least take those! So I drove home and carted it all back inside, and that's when I realized they probably didn't even assess any of it! I had a high-end belt tucked into a shoe (it was still clearly visible, but I always place something like this in a drop-off just as a little insurance), and as I dug through the bag I noticed it and many other items were completely undisturbed! Nice. Thanks. So I doubt I'll ever return to this store. If they're not accepting certain items they should just say so outright. Please don't be lazy and waste my time and energy like this! read more

I love Clothes Mentor. The store is stocked with ever changing resale clothing items, at incredibly low prices. Shoes and bags are the best deals. On my last visit I spotted purses by Prada, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors and Coach. This is not a consignment shop- rather they purchase clothes on the spot and is considered resale. Update: having visited all the CM in the TC, I would say the EP location is so/so. A lot of Loft, Gap, Talbots brand. The Calhoun and Minnetonka locations tend to have much higher end merchandise, and the staff at the Calhoun store is terrific! At Calhoun I have found Frye oxfords, Paul Green loafers, Lily Pulitzer and Tahari jackets, and a fab pair of purple suede BCBG boots. read more

Right when I entered the store to try to sell some of my clothing, the lady at the counter immediately had a rude/impatient tone with me and told me they can't accept juniors clothing. I know I look like a teenager, but I'm 26 and absolutely none of my clothing was from juniors places nor were they junior sizing. I told the lady that I was sent away from Plato's Closet exactly because my clothes were too "adult" and "workwear" for them so I thought it'd be a better fit for Clothes Mentor. She begrudgingly took my bag and I left. An hour and a half later I got the text to go back, and she handed my full bag back to me and said she couldn't take any of it because it was all either junior sizing or from junior stores, which is 100% untrue. I have a sneaking suspicion that she didn't even look through my bag. There were some great adult women workwear pieces in there that were in nearly perfect condition, so either she didn't even look through my bag or she had too much of an ego to buy anything off of me, someone she knew she had made wrongful assumptions about. read more

I have been selling new and gently used designer label clothing to Clothes Mentor for years. Without exception, they return the bags for the things they pass on explaining that they couldn't take them because they were soiled, stained, and worn. I always just rolled my eyes and didn't challenge them on it, even though I knew for a fact that the items were either never worn with tags on them or perfectly clean with no sign of wear; I am quite particular about that. Today, however, when they passed on almost everything, I heard that same line and I felt humiliated as I saw customers turn to look at me with disgust. This time, I asked the woman to show me where anything was soiled, stained, or worn. We went through every piece and she could not find one item that wasn't in perfect shape! She changed her story to say that they were all outdated. Most of the pieces were purchased last year and several within 3 years and all classic styling! I hope they begin to treat customers with more respect and dignity. read more

I had so much fun here yesterday! I brought in some items, they only took two, but I got more than I expected in store credit! I tried on about half of the store, and the lovely employee cheerfully assisted me with a fitting room. For under $200 bucks I got a whole new winter wardrobe, winter boots, a new handbag, cardigans with tags still on, sweaters, sweatshirts, a few work tops. I didn't have time to shop bottoms, so I will be back soon. The whole staff was friendly and helpful. read more

I've had good luck bringing items here. I stopped in tonight to drop some items off. Keep in mind I drive 40-50 minutes to come here. I walked in the door at 6:59-7:00. They quit taking items at 7:00. As I walked in the door I asked "are u still taking items" not knowing if it was 8 or 9 they close at but knowing they stop an hour before closing to take items. One gal working answered yes, the other said no. And did they look through my items? No. It wouldn't have made me so upset had the one girl said yes right away all cheerful. And I knew I was cutting it close, but again each employee giving me a diff answer was irritating. Don't know that I'll want to come back. read more
