I came here to buy clothes for a business conference. I would categorize this store as a good consignment store for business casual clothing or casual clothing for women 40 and older. They only buy/sell items that are in basically new condition and well-known brands. The store is very well organized by type of clothing, size, and color. I think that was my favorite part. It made it easy to find what I was looking for. I do think for a second-hand store they price their items too high. Ex: blouses are between $12 - $24 There are dressing rooms available to try on clothes. There are NO public restrooms in this store. If you bring items you want to sell to them, they will buy from you, but only if it's in good condition and they think it's "trendy" enough. read more

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this store and staff are. The cleanliness is top notch. I can swear someone is always vacuuming when I'm there - love it! The clothing/shoe/accessory items for sale are wonderfully organized and displayed - a little too easy to pick a great piece to add to your wardrobe! Above all, the staff are incomparable. Their customer service is top tier. I was witness to an unsettled customer who was attempting to sell an item that just wasn't the right fit for the store and their clientele. The ease, patience, grace, and confidence that all of the staff showed during the encounter while continuing to provide me with superior customer service was something that will continue to bring me back. Sure, everyone thinks their closet is full of treasures so when you're off to the consignment shop, you think you're going to get your coins. Clothes Mentor likes to make money but they don't like to spend it. I do not buy designer, but I do buy quality. I lost more than 30 lbs so I have a lot of clothes that are newish but do not fit. I also have some old classics as well... ok I threw them in just hoping. Out of two completely packed TJ Maxx bags, they took three items. I said, "I don't understand, I get emails weekly about you needing inventory and as I look around, I would consider my clothes above average." They made excuses about how my clothes weren't current. What? Ok fine. I pointed out a pair of shorts they are selling that are the same exact brand and pattern that I purchased from Clothes Mentor THREE years ago. Funny part of the experience is that one of the three items they picked was a dress I purchased from Target 12 years ago. I said, "Why did you pick this dress?" She said, "It still has the tags on it so it must be newer." huh... oh and I had two pair of shoes that I have NEVER worn. She said, "one pair has a little wear on the bottom." First of all, that's impossible and secondly, ITS A USED CLOTHING STORE. My clothes will now go to Goodwill in which I know that the profits are used to help people with various barriers. Do not come at me. Do not tell me about the story of how much the president makes, I know a person who has been with the company for 27 years and has a significant role who explained that story. Pretty disappointing experience considering how much they charge for used clothes. As I looked around when I first got there, I wanted to see how much they might charge customers for some of my clothes. I was a little shocked to see upwards of $20 for used shirts, shorts, etc... may as well buy new clothes from Macy's backstage or TJ Maxx for the same price. read more

Was here recently and had a terrible experience as a shopper. Was shopping while exchanging some clothes and I believe it was the manager was beyond rude. Talking trash about customers after they left the store, multiple times. Asked to see some designer things that's another customer had just sold them and wouldn't show me anything because "they were going online" meanwhile I was in the store in front of her and would have paid cash if I wanted it. These women don't know designer brands and the value of vintage designer bag. DO NOT TAKE DESIGNER HERE they'll tell you they can't authenticate it and sell it for $20 next to a pair of sketchers. Was recommended to sell here from Jacob with Platos closet the two you g ladies were polite and helpful as well as honest in terms of needs They went through my clothes and didn't take anything but still explained why they didn't take anything... Would leave 0 stars if I could. I made a trip with a bin of very nice designer( mostly new ) pieces. They told me my stuff was from 2003,16, and 17 which isn't true at all? I don't even understand. They bought NOTHING . And to top it off my son got a terrible stomach ache while waiting and had to go to the bathroom very bad and I asked if he could please use the restroom he was crying and everthing and they said just for employees seriously? My husband has bought me handbags from here in the past but yesterday was the first time I actually came into the store. My best friend & I were absolutely amazed with the selection & the prices! I got a Kate Spade bag for less than $30! The staff was very friendly. As someone who is plus size, it was very nice to see more than just one small XXL on a rack & to see actual plus clothing. Also, for the comments that they're buying your stuff for really cheap, no kidding. They're not gonna give you what they're gonna sell it for because they're in business to make money, plus they're very affordable. read more

This store has a great selection of luxury items, at really good prices, that I couldn't even tell weren't new. Tons of like-new clothing and shoes and jewelry as well. I found a great bag for my wife for a lot less than I've seen elsewhere. The staff was friendly, and busy buying items from customers. It's not a consignment shop, as people were given cash for their items. I don't live locally, so I can't shop again in person for a while, but they told me they have a an online store and gave me a slip with the web address. I figured I'd give this consignment store a try again after being turned off during my first visit a few years ago. (Not personable, snotty and condescending for some really nice pieces for professional women like stylish suits from The Limited which were not cheap, dry cleaned and did not have much wear. Luckily I sold them elsewhere.) This time I called beforehand to obtain all the ins and outs before trucking my clothes, shoes and handbags there. I realize some of my clothing is two years old, but I think certain pieces are still in style. (Hello simple blazers? Cold shoulder shirts? Sweaters for fall?) The woman who I spoke with on the phone as well as the first woman to wait on me and check me out in the store were friendly. However, there were two other employees that began going through my items as I was perusing the store, weren't as nice. I could see they were making faces at some of the stuff and couldn't figure out a cold shoulder shirt. (It's a trendy style now and this particular piece was not worn and from a boutique I nicely noted and they made a snotty face.) Some of the items I saw on their racks looked way more worn than some of my items that they wouldn't buy, but whatever. I felt I should've got more than $27 for my items and they passed up on labels such as Stitch Fix and their brands, Ann Taylor, Express, The Limited and nice boutique clothes never worn. It seems like depending on which employee(s) you get at the particular time you're selling, that person ultimately determines what flies that day. (Target clothes weren't good enough two years ago but today a piece or two got bought?) They didn't buy any of my long sleeve sweaters because they said they have too many long sleeve items as it is. Maybe previewing seasonal clothes besides just brand names in the front section would have these pieces sell faster? I don't know that I'll waste my time going back based on the snotty air I received and nice, in style, (within two years) pieces only worn only once or twice that were passed up. read more

This place is wonderful! Decent goods at amazing prices. They have clothing, shoes, purses, wallets, and jewelry. There a some brands that are on a rack of their own: for example a small rack of just Chico's items and a small rack for just Plus sizes. Those items can be found in other racks but this allows you to focus in if you are interested in just this items. A large selection of athletic wear, winter coats in the back, formal dresses, and some higher end items behind the counter. I witnessed a mother daughter duo shopping for back to school clothes. The entire store was well organized and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They offer a Personal Shopper service as well. read more

Went to sell large amount of clothing that were too small. Upon entering noticed both employees not wearing a mask, during covid. The one that waited on us pulled hers up. Upon returning they bought 2 pair of shoes. NO clothing and got no reason why. Some items were from this season just purchased and changed mind after washing. Said maybe too much in stock. The women that waited on us 2nd time had no mask, "medically exempt" and told us we could take ours off for a fresh air break. They arent strick with masks. *we're in a pandemic. The staff at clothes mentor were extremely sweet, I was looking for some new garb. I had my toddler with me, we all know how tough that can be, he was running all over the store and they were very nice to him, and myself, helping me entertain him as I was able to shop a little easier. I loved the selection and price was fantastic!! I'm a huge Nordstrom shopper, that may be for the birds, now that I found mentor ! I don't understand their methods of determining what is new and what is not. I turned in a huge bag of designer and boutique clothing, and they told me my stuff was too old. Meanwhile, they accepted a boutique top 5 or 6 years old and a Steelers clear purse as old as the NFL clear bag policy. I had three pair of designer jeans there, alL bought within the last six months and they did not one pair. This will be my last time going there after they offered me $13 for items 5+ years old, but silent accept the other high end clothing. You better believe I took their money and will never return. read more

I went in today during the Covid pandemic. The sales girls were fantastic!! I was picking up something I had bought from their sight on Shopify which is set up very user friendly! The sales women had on their masks and offered me help. It was SO nice to shop in a store that sales people want you to be there! I love Clothes Mentor and LOVE their prices!!!! The employees were rude and unprofessional, they treated me as if I was coming there like I was coming to get fix. I bough Lt clothing there with tags still attached because I have made lifestyle changes that have blessed me to lose the desired weight that I sought to lose and the clothes no longer fit me. These clothes are just shy of 1 year in the purchase date and they told me they were unable to accept them. I wished I had doney home work and searched reviews prior to the drive. I have taken items to Clothes Mentor twice. The first time was fine and I was pleased with what they offered me. I wasn't at all happy the second time. I did take a lot of items and I knew it was going to take time for them to go through everything. That wasn't the problem. The things they decided not to accept we're not treated very well! They threw the shoes back in the container. Some mates of earrings are missing. Statement necklaces were in put back in the box bent. Necklaces are tangled. I haven't found one necklace made of paper roses that I had lying on the top of other necklaces so it wouldn't be ruined! Many other things were also not treated well. I called and was told the next time my items would be given more consideration. I told her that everyone's items should be treated with care. I don't appreciate excuses! There isn't any reason to treat someone's things this way! I won't take anything there again! read more

Went here to sell clothes was told it would be a 10-15 minute wait. I said okay that I would look around for the time being after 20 minutes I went up to register to wait there as I was done looking around. Stood there for another 5 mins while the girls chatted about random things not even really looking at my items. After being there for a half hr they bought nothing which included VS, coach and columbia products. Don't waste your time going here. read more

I shop mostly at LOFT which has really paid off here. The staff sometimes seems a little bored or down but they're not rude or mean. Very nice usually. The process was quick and I left a lot of cash and a lighter bag than when I came in. I browsed when I was in store too and the clothes at great quality. Some of the shoes and bags are not in great condition but the clothes are all very nice so there's good selection. I am definitely going to sell here again! I was not satisfied with the customer service here and drove an hour twice because of the wait and was told to come back by the manager because I had good dresses she said... Calvin Klein, etc. Then to come back and the cashier saying they are being picky with dresses because they have so many with that same manager standing right there. I took my coach shoes, bottega Venetia and brand new Frye boots to this store and the lady told me that will pay me for $97. I said what? You are f**** kidding me. That bottega Venetia bag alone I seen sold $400 used in eBay. Clothes mentor is a joke. Seems like every visit they are only allowed to pay your stuff not more than $100 because my friend every time she took hers stuff got out there not more than $100 in her pocket. Seller beware! The first time I took a WHBM suede moto jacket brand new with tags for $499. They offered me $12. The second time I took an item with tags for $42, they offered $4. When I questioned the amounts, the rude, condescending person behind the counter stated that I obviously wanted what I paid for the items. No, I don't want what I paid but I don't want completely ripped off either. I will never go there again and will make sure everyone I know stays far away! read more

Save your time, go to Platos Closet! If you'd like to stand around for 45 min. (after being told it would take 20 min, with only a few other customers) and then have the associates make rude comments about your stuff as they sort through, this is your place. It's like I'm back in high school, with these caddy girls making comments about stuff I am getting rid of. Progress is probably slow in part to conversations about how they hate their jobs and that their raises aren't significant enough. I am still waiting on my stuff but have to resisted the urge to grab my stuff and run out. I will not be back, and suggest you avoid as well. read more

When they first opened I took a basket of clothes to sell. Many of my items still had tags on them Christopher Banks sweaters, new in box shoes, even an Ann Taylor little black dress with tags etc. Even though the Ann Taylor label was outdated, a little black dress never goes out of style and was never worn. Everything I brought in was rejected. The associates are rude and arrogant. A friend took shoes and purses there on another day and she told me all her items were rejected as well. Since this was such an awful experience, I rarely shop there. To add insult to injury, many items they do have are of inferior quality and out of style. They accepted these items and not mine. They are always looking to hire and I don't expect this store to last. Word of advice to corporate - if you start off insulting customers, don't expect them to come back. Word of mouth travels especially with bad experiences. My friend won't go back there either. read more
