The employees are rather rude and seem to think they are something special. They are the ones peddling clothes not the customers.

The clothes are old, dated. They are for elderly women who do not care about looking nice. The staff are rude.

All the clothing is separated into different racks by categories, i.e jackets, sweaters, blouses, etc. They also have a great accessory selection for bags, shoes, and jewelry and in the back there is a whole wall for children's clothes and toys. Everything is reasonably priced for a thrift store. I didn't spend more than $6 on a single item. The location is very convenient as well. Right on Potomac ave in Dormont and there is meter parking right out front of the store. The ladies that work there are very nice as well. They told us how they are volunteers and have been working there for years. This is a non-profit store and everything they don't sell within 60 days goes to homeless shelters and a lot of their profits go towards helping the animal shelters as well. The store has been around for 50+ years, which is amazing. The ladies said it originally started out as a trade store for items people didn't want anymore, hence the name. Very cool history and a great place to find a good deal! Will be back!

I've heard rumors that this location might eventually change to a regular Goodwill store, and I…read morehope that's not the case -- the bins are truly one-of-a-kind and such a great resource for the community. This place brings together thrifters, bargain hunters, and local families in a way that a regular store just wouldn't. It's more than shopping; it's a shared experience that supports creativity, sustainability, and community connection. I would really hate to see this change. Losing the bins would take away a unique way for people to explore, discover, and enjoy the thrill of the hunt that makes Heidelberg Goodwill so special. Not to mention, devastating to the shoppers that cannot afford the prices of a regular store. Please keep this treasure as it is!

I think you really have to have a treasure hunt mind set. I went on a Saturday. While someone said the regulars are rowdy, sitting near the cash register waiting for a cart, I saw a few families and pairs of people. No one seemed all that rushed or excitable. So, like I said, no cart. But while waiting for one, I saw two families check out with some pretty decent stuff they would probably get for less than $10. I think I would have rated it higher - but I really wasn't trying to dig through bins. (I mean if plus size stuff is hard to find at the regular stores, how much of it will someone find in a bin - and I really just wanted a winter coat.) Plus, hey, I was willing to, but didn't want to do that w/o a cart. I do agree with the reviewer who said it was clean. It was just as or even more clean than a regular Goodwill.
