I booked a late reservation here at the Muddler's Club. I came solo and got dropped off by a taxi…read more I got a little lost while trying to find the restaurant. It's pretty hidden in the alley and not going to lie...coming to a new city, let alone a new country by myself was a bit intimidating, but I found it just in time for my reservation. I absolutely loved my first Michelin Star restaurant experience. I was born in Belfast, and have never been back since I was born, so I enjoyed every opportunity to tell a server. The staff was so friendly and described every dish. I ordered the Seasonal Tasting MenuEach dish was excellent. My favorite was probably the duck and the savory mousse pastries. Food in order of serving: 1. Sourdough Guinness bread with vanilla butter and olive oil 2. Olive sponge crab and apple, chicken and caramel with some type of mousse 3. Scallops, cucumber frothy brown butter 4. Bluefin tuna tartare with avocado and heirloom tomato 5. Halibut with crispy chicken skin 6. Duck 7. Sorbet and then....my phone died before I could write down the other yummy dishes I ate! The ambience was dark, romantic, and vibey. A little mysterious because of the hidden aspect, but overall I loved my whole experience here.

My weekday dinner at Muddler's Club seemed a bit directionless…read more The food is excellent, taste, flavor combinations and présentation. That is not the concern. The space itself has a very long and interesting history, just over 40 seats have been cramped into that space. A couple tables have small glass walls to separate them and squeeze in more diners. And it's pretty loud. So loud, I can barely hear the sommelier describe her wines. There may have been music playing... but who can hear? There seems to be an attempt to elevate the bartender over the sommelier, with the menu encouraging the guests to try specialty cocktails instead of selecting whole bottles of wine. And the bartender's constant ice shaker only adds to the noise. The service is very relaxed, with servers in t-shirts and jeans, sneakers, paper napkins. And the servers seemed a bit inattentive, watching the chefs through the pass, not paying attention to guests' needs. Oh, and the server even wrote "thank you" on the printed bill... How kind. Excellent Flair. Pure Chotchkie's. For the food, I'll return. 2025 04 16. M1. 235.

If you're a fan of burgers and American Diners than you're going to love Belfast's newest burger…read morebar, Eddie Rockets. One of only a few in Ireland ER's is already proving to be a big hit on the Lisburn Road. Yesterday when I paid a visit it was absolutely jam packed. But the pin striped, attentive staff managed to deal with the hoards of burger lover admirably. The whole restaurant follows the USA diner theme, red tiles, bold brash posters with American slogans and red leather booths. Right down to even the tiniest details this place is perfect - they have mini duke boxes (50's style) where you can pay 20p for your choice of song. Right on to the important bit, the food. The menu is full of tempting delights but I went for the Smokestack burger upon a recommendation. I have to say I was not disappointed! The Burger bun was soft and fluffy, the burger was meaty and the extras combination were sublime. The best part of the burger was definitely the 'secret' sauce - sort of like a vinegary mayo. I'm underselling it with that description. Burgers will set you back £6.45 but they are not small and you certainly won't be hungry after eating them. I loved Eddie Rocket's - the only tiny thing I would mention is that it took a while for us to get our food which made us rush eating it. I will put this down to how busy it was. The place certainly isn't understaffed. Top marks from me - there's so much on the menu to sample that I will have to make a trip back soon!

Fun times and good food…read more Eddies is a great addition to Belfast. When you enter Eddies you can see that it is just like stepping into a real American diner and a great touch is that there is a juke box at every table. The food is great also. This is at heart a burger joint and they do it well. I had a smokestake burger and it was delicious. Applewood cheese, onion rings and secret sauce allll gooooood!!! I loved the food so much that I went back for seconds the next day and I can davey say that I will be back again.

I was curious as to the addition of the word express but figured it just meant they got the food out in good time. No, they would like you out in good time! You do feel a bit rushed in here, not rudely so in any way though, the staff are great. I guess with such a high turnover at lunchtime they need to get the tables cleared and filled quickly through it. The food was just as good as the Botanic restaurant and I went for the Ulster fry-for comparison- and really couldn't fault it! Prices are good, perhaps a little more being in the city centre but that's to be expected surely! Great place!

They do all the usual stuff like Panini's, soup and sandwiches and even a bit of stew in the winter. It is a good place to go if you have kids as it caters for them well. I would suggest however to try and go any time before or after the lunch rush during the weeks, and before or after 12-2pm on a Saturday as you will simply not get a table it gets so busy. The staff are a little bit sharp at times and upon occasion you may feel yourself being a little rushed, however on the hole they are ok. If you ever do manage to get here, I would advise getting yourself some of their chocolate cake, which is very good.

Looking for a bit of grub before venturing into the pub, the missus said we should go to The Other…read morePlace, she had been here before and recommended it so that was good enough for me. Fighting our way through the crowd of smokers at the door, we walked in to find the place nearly empty, a nice young bloke showed us to our booth, just big enough to seat the four of us, the decor is a bit odd, a few phones on the walls, and some old posters, a bit like an 80's student bedroom but quite agreeable. The missus went for her usual chicken fillet burger with chips, her mate went for the cajun chicken, her friends beau had the gammon and I had the chicken curry. The missus loved her burger, she's pretty fussy and wouldn't be behind the door in expressing her displeasure but she liked her burger immensely, it was accompanied by a huge amount of gorgeous chips which she had no mission of finishing, her mate's cajun chicken wasn't bad, although the sauce seemed to be a little "Uncle Bens" Didn't stop her finishing it though! The gammon was fine, if a wee bit overdone, once more served with a mountain of the wonderful chips, but the curry was a bit watery, good rice though and some chips, but it went down easy enough and didn't break the bank. We all had coke, but we were told that if we went to the offy, we were more than welcome to bring in our own drink. All in all, I can see us coming back, it was a good start to the night.

Nice interior which is traditional American Diner themed, but that's about all that impressed. Service was slow and haphazard. Vegetarian options extremely poor and quality of food not good. As there were hardly any vegetarian dishes on the menu I opted for the only vegetarian burger (The Ultimate Veggie). I choose to have this in a bowl with a side of French fries. My dining companion choose a couple of sides instead of a main - cheese fries and onion rings - again because the vegetarian options were so lacking. We waited for 10 minutes at our table before our order was taken then had quite a long wait before our food was served. When the food eventually arrived we still hadn't been given our drinks. We had to ask again for drinks, knives, forks and vinegar. Extremely poor and slow service which was not up to standard at all. Dessert consisted of a Knickerbocker Glory and cookies and ice-cream Sunday. Average desserts which looked better than they tasted. Overall Eddie Rocket's food disappointed. I could make a nicer meal at home with frozen supermarket-bought fries and burgers just baked in the oven. I am not impressed with Eddie Rocket's and found it dissatisfactory - both food and service need improvement.
