I nipped in here for lunch the other day and was won over by the fact that I'm a bit of a fan of the sister(brother?) restaurant up on Botanic. First impressions were good as the room looked well dressed and it seemed like someone had made a bit of an effort with kitting the place out. As we were in a hurry I wasn't too aware of any rushing by the staff as mentioned by other reviewers but thinking back the food was on the table damn quick and we didn't spend too much time loitering. Having said that, the food was good and there was a pleasant busy buzz in the place. I could see this being a very popular lunch options for those wanting something quick, easy and not too challenging. Pros: Nice interior, good food. Cons: Food seemed a bit expensive.

When we walked in, we were completely in awe of the whole décor / design of the place as it was like walking into an American diner in the 60's. I was waiting on Marty McFly walking past to be honest. Customer service was great! The best I have received in such a long time. The waiting staff were also great with kids. There is a jukebox at each booth which cost's 20p per song but all the money goes to charity which I think is great, and it has all the greats you would expect hearing in a joint like this, Elvis, The beach boys, Chuck Berry etc.... The food was pretty good, and this is the only reason it did not get a 5 star from me, but it's not unique, the chips, burger and sides are most likely bought into the store in bulk and it's food you can get at Frankie and Bennys / TGI's it's not individually owned if you were to compare to somewhere like the Hotplate. But in saying that it was pretty tasty, portion sizes were good and I would definitely be 'back in the future' if I am up at Boucher Road and the stomach starts talking to me! P.S you have to get a milkshake they are pretty Awesome!

It's pretty hidden in the alley and not going to lie...coming to a new city, let alone a new country by myself was a bit intimidating, but I found it just in time for my reservation. I absolutely loved my first Michelin Star restaurant experience. I was born in Belfast, and have never been back since I was born, so I enjoyed every opportunity to tell a server. The staff was so friendly and described every dish. I ordered the Seasonal Tasting MenuEach dish was excellent. My favorite was probably the duck and the savory mousse pastries. Food in order of serving: 1. Sourdough Guinness bread with vanilla butter and olive oil 2. Olive sponge crab and apple, chicken and caramel with some type of mousse 3. Scallops, cucumber frothy brown butter 4. Bluefin tuna tartare with avocado and heirloom tomato 5. Halibut with crispy chicken skin 6. Duck 7. Sorbet and then....my phone died before I could write down the other yummy dishes I ate! The ambience was dark, romantic, and vibey. A little mysterious because of the hidden aspect, but overall I loved my whole experience here.

The space itself has a very long and interesting history, just over 40 seats have been cramped into that space. A couple tables have small glass walls to separate them and squeeze in more diners. And it's pretty loud. So loud, I can barely hear the sommelier describe her wines. There may have been music playing... but who can hear? There seems to be an attempt to elevate the bartender over the sommelier, with the menu encouraging the guests to try specialty cocktails instead of selecting whole bottles of wine. And the bartender's constant ice shaker only adds to the noise. The service is very relaxed, with servers in t-shirts and jeans, sneakers, paper napkins. And the servers seemed a bit inattentive, watching the chefs through the pass, not paying attention to guests' needs. Oh, and the server even wrote "thank you" on the printed bill... How kind. Excellent Flair. Pure Chotchkie's. For the food, I'll return. 2025 04 16. M1. 235.

One of only a few in Ireland ER's is already proving to be a big hit on the Lisburn Road. Yesterday when I paid a visit it was absolutely jam packed. But the pin striped, attentive staff managed to deal with the hoards of burger lover admirably. The whole restaurant follows the USA diner theme, red tiles, bold brash posters with American slogans and red leather booths. Right down to even the tiniest details this place is perfect - they have mini duke boxes (50's style) where you can pay 20p for your choice of song. Right on to the important bit, the food. The menu is full of tempting delights but I went for the Smokestack burger upon a recommendation. I have to say I was not disappointed! The Burger bun was soft and fluffy, the burger was meaty and the extras combination were sublime. The best part of the burger was definitely the 'secret' sauce - sort of like a vinegary mayo. I'm underselling it with that description. Burgers will set you back £6.45 but they are not small and you certainly won't be hungry after eating them. I loved Eddie Rocket's - the only tiny thing I would mention is that it took a while for us to get our food which made us rush eating it. I will put this down to how busy it was. The place certainly isn't understaffed. Top marks from me - there's so much on the menu to sample that I will have to make a trip back soon!

It's in a part of town that I wouldn't really praise for it's restaurant's, usually it's just the Café's and Deli's around this area and sure enough the food served at Jennifer's serves regular Café fare. This doesn't mean that what they serve is bad, I ordered the Burger and chips and was quick pleased with it. To be perfectly honest we only went to The Other Place because the queues in all the other places were out the door. But I'm glad we went. This is another café where there's the element of uncertainty when you enter - do you sit at a booth, do you wait to be seated or do you approach the counter. Here's your answer - you take a seat and the waiting staff will come and take your order. The decor is simple - pine booths and traditional posters and Belfast ornaments make up the interior and there's a decent chilled out playlist creating background noise. The menu is pretty straight forward. It's all comfort food really. Lasagne, wraps, fish and chips, burgers, you get the idea. I went for the fish and chips that was chalked up on the specials board (£6.95). The portions are huge - I got a fish that was hanging off the side of my plate. The fish and chips was perfect for what I wanted - just honest food, nothing too fancy. It tasted great and was the hearty lunch I was looking for. You can't really go too far wrong with The Other Place - there's absolutely nothing offensive about it - it is what it is - it's not trying too hard to be fancy, it's your bog standard cafe, what you see is what you get. So if you're looking for something comforting, or a taste of home go here.
