Great store! One of the last true comic shops with a great blend of new and classic titles. Great atmosphere with a knowledgeable staff.

The store is more geared toward role players then comic books collectors. Selection is just okay but not great. Also beware of loud music.

Every week I thank the universe for putting Rogue Comics and its awesome owner, Mike, in my city! I…read morehave been to too many hobby shops/comic book shops who don't have a real appreciation of the craft and Rogue Comics totally gets it! No high pressure sales, no condescending attitudes, you can tell Mike loves what he sells and it comes across in the recommendations he sometimes throws your way or in the pleasant commentary he sometimes chimes in on certain titles you pick up on your visits. I love that I never have to worry about rushing over every week since I might miss an issue, since Mike takes great care of my pull list and even throws in a few surprise titles which are usually right up my alley! He even goes out of his way to host midnight release parties for special titles for the comic faithful who cannot wait! Every year he does a great job with Free Comic Book Day which I always make a point to bring my younger cousins/ nephews to and plant the seed early to continue the readership on these top of the line titles. I have been a regular customer now for over 3 years and I wish Rogue Comics the utmost best since I would dread the day I'd have to resort to ordering these books online and miss out on the awe and wonder I regularly experience at Rogue Comics!

I've only been here a few times, so I can't really speak for anything tournament-worthy, or comic…read morebook-worthy (since I don't collect), but the atmosphere here is really great. MTG products are laid out for you in binders by set, they have a glass case up front for all the higher priced cards, and the staff is super knowledgeable about what they have in stock, which is all a huge deal to me. I've also heard that they recently expanded their store, which is super cool if they plan on hosting larger tournaments. Not only that, but you can place orders on their website and pick them up at your own convenience. I have yet to do so, but a friend of mine does it constantly and tells me that it's so much more worth it than sitting there sifting through cards. Yeah sure it might be a bit difficult to find from the main road since it's in a shared business building, and you might even pass it while trying to find it, but if you want a great experience at a comic/book card collector shop, this is your place.

Been here a few times in the past. Recently visited after moving out of state five years ago…read more Ironically the vibe of this place never changed. Not one person greeted me when I walked in (which to an extent is a huge pet peeve of mine). What made it worse was eventually an employee (I believe the owner) looked me right in the eyes and didn't say anything and just ignored me. They had some good comics hanging on the wall and stuff seemed fairly priced. But honestly customer service and feeling welcomed goes much farther to me as a customer. If I don't feel welcomed or wanted then why would I bother wanting to give you my money? I'm not sure how people stay in business when they're not social with their customers.

This isn't a bad comic store. Besides some first rate books, They have a ton of posters, action…read morefigures, and other fanboy items that will bring out the "true believer" in everyone. Why, they even have an adult section which is also very interesting. (Why hello, Bettie Page, how I've missed you. The only fault I can find with the store is that it is kind of small, and its shelving layout makes for a labyrinth of comics and kitsch. However, I suppose for some this is part of this shop's appeal.

I just left this store, and I was honestly floored by the experience. I have been reading and…read morecollecting comics and visiting local comic shops for more than 35 years, and I have never been made to feel so uncomfortable or unwelcome in one. I stopped in around 5:00 on a Monday afternoon and was the only customer in the store. The man behind the counter did not greet me or offer any assistance. That wouldn't have bothered me much on its own, but things got considerably worse when I started looking through the back issues. As I was browsing, he sharply told me to be careful not to bend the comics. I understood his concern--the bins were extremely overpacked--and I politely told him that I would be careful, even though I already was being careful. But he wouldn't let it go. He continued telling me how I should be looking through the comics and repeatedly insisted that I was doing it incorrectly. After more than 35 years of buying and collecting comics, I know how to handle a back issue. I certainly don't need to be repeatedly lectured on how to flip through a comic bin. The entire interaction felt condescending and unnecessarily hostile, and I was made to feel as though I was doing something wrong simply by browsing the merchandise. Needless to say, I will never go back to Alternative Universe. There are too many comic shops where customers are actually made to feel welcome for me to spend my money somewhere that treats a customer this way. A truly disappointing experience.
