AMAZING dive bar. I loved the vibes & Demitri was a great bartender & super sweet to my friends and I visiting NYC for the first time. 10000% recommend if you're looking for a fun dive bar in lower east side.ALSO, SUPER cheap drinks for NY

Now this is what I call a NYC Dive bar!!!! Graffiti and all!!! I love the decor!!! My guy Kevin is the man!!!! I met Joey ass well and both are dope!

The inside is COVERED in graffiti, which is fine or even kitchy...but it's like they take pride in the lack of upkeep. The leather seats on the back sofas need to be recovered badly. Our group didn't like this bar, but we stayed for one drink because the bartender was nice and there was a cute dog in there with one of the local patrons. This is a good bar for someone that likes a zero-frills place with eclectic patrons who doesn't mind the dirty feel with hard-core angry music. Not really our jam.

    Love it!

Get your inner punk rocker on at Clockwork! This hidden oasis for the rocker in all of us is located on the Lower East Side, and a must-visit if you're looking for somewhere to listen to rad music, enjoy some cheap shots and beer, and just hang in a place that feels like somewhere Roger from RENT would frequent. My boyfriend loves this place, and we came here a couple weeks back with a few of his friends from his NYC days. It was fun, loud, and absolutely perfect. I especially love the graffiti that covers the walls - everywhere, even the bathrooms! If you look up "dive bar" on Urban Dictionary, I guarantee you that Clockwork Bar will show up. That's not to say it's a bad thing - far from it, actually. However, just know that it's not a place to bring your parents (unless of course, they're punks from the 80's themselves!). Despite the "rough around the edges" look, the bartenders are awesome and friendly. Boogie is the man - he took care of us all night, and he's great. Clockwork is definitely a unique and off the beaten path bar, but a must visit for any unique night out in NYC!

This place rocks my clocks off. Great vibe, great prices, fun atmosphere. Pretty much everything I'm looking for in a bar. The music also isn't that loud and my friend said "It's a punk bar. Most punks are too old now to hear each other talk if the music is loud". Which like... it's true and I like it.

Nice unpretentious bar in one of the last grungy areas of the city. The prices are competitive with any dive bar and you can get a beer and shot special for $3. The punk rock theme is illustrated by the graffiti covered walls and funky decor. The bathroom is covered with band stickers as a testament to the passion of its patrons. Tried the $6 frozen margarita and I wasn't disappointed. It was strong and enjoyable. The music isn't too loud so carrying a conversation is very easy. The bartenders really know their drinks and make great recommendations. Get there early as it gets packed at night and the interior layout is narrow. This is my first stop when I go on a pub crawl.

Go for the cheap beer stay for Boogie lives, not so sure about this Joey character tho

Does exactly what you'd want a dive bar to do. Strolled in for weekday happy hour and got a round of beers.

21, its a pretty straight forward bar so I don't think they can stretch the 18 and over thing

It's a classic after-work watering hole for the finance workers, consultants, and attorneys who populate the area. The decor is awesome, and makes you feel fuzzy and at home!!! But let's talk about the real star of the show: the burger. I've had my fair share of burgers in NYC, but this one takes the cake. The patty is juicy and flavorful, cooked to perfection with just the right amount of char on the outside. The bun is soft and pillowy, holding everything together without getting soggy. And the bacon is mmm mmmmmmm PERFECT!!! Trust me when I say it's worth braving the sea of suits just to get your hands on one of these bad boys. So if you find yourself in Chinatown after work or on a weekend night out with friends (or even alone), do yourself a favor and stop by Whiskey Tavern for some great drinks (not watered down!) and an unforgettable burger experience. You won't regret it! But the REAL reason this place is so special is the PEOPLE. This place is like the bar from that show "Cheers", but in 2026! Just the most amazing people Ever running the show. Upon arriving, I was immediately greeted by the manager and other staff to make sure I was all settled for my party, which I really appreciated. This space has a partnership with a pizza place up the street to order food but also provides flexibility to bring in your own food which a lot of places do not allow. They also allowed me to bring balloons and cake which many places also don't allow. I had around 40 people and there was plenty of space to sit down or stand. It wasn't too loud so I was able to have a conversation with friends while also enjoying the music. The music was great and we even stayed afterwards to enjoy the DJ and the vibes were still strong. If you're looking for a private space, this is the perfect spot for your party! My friends are still talking about how cool this space was and were very impressed!
