Denise is amazing both cutting and coloring and highlighting my hair. Clips salon is definitely a 10/10 in my book. Thank you Tony!

Fringe is the salon that I always go to when I am living in Kent. I had found it my freshman year…read moreand have been going there ever since. They offer top-tier services and have well-trained hairdressers. I usually just ask for a trim and an eyebrow wax and they always do a fantastic job. I've also gotten my hair colored before by Nicole and she did an amazing job, I just think looking back on it that the color wasn't for me. But she's great for blondes. Everyone there is always super friendly and seem genuinely interested in getting to know me. I usually have a different person each time and they all have been super kind. The inside is also super nice and and very clean which is always important. I highly recommend this salon if you care a lot about quality when it comes to your hair.

I went to fringe salon to get some color off my hair and add a new color with layers. It cost me…read moreabout 300 dollars and I was there for 4 HOURS. I didn't get the style I wanted and ended up with botched blunt layers and badly bleached sections of my hair that didn't blend at all. The colors they had were very limited and lasted about 2 showers before my hair had no color and looked super crappy. Also the stylist left me sitting there while she did two other clients hair right in front of me. I wanted to complain there but I was tired and hungry and felt like I was about to cry so I just payed and left. Now I dye my weird blond parts at home and I curl my hair every morning because it looks terrible straight. Safe to say I will never be returning to this salon. Note: I brought a picture of what I wanted in color and style and printed it out to make it clear, and the stylist said with full confidence she could easily do it, so my hair was not the problem.

I recently moved from Akron to Tallmadge and was looking for a local convenient spot to get my hair…read morecut. I have had three cuts at The Man Cave and will be a regular there now. When I read Brian's review, I felt compelled to come in and give my own, especially due to one statement that I thought might keep people away and is completely out of sync with my three visits. Brian is a regular reviewer on Yelp. Maybe he will reconsider and edit. Maybe just a bad day? First and foremost, I think it is important that if we are going to review someplace, we review the product. You know, if I am looking for a restaurant, I want to know how the food is. I am a 50 year old business man. As a veteran of the military, I never really changed my cut much over the years. I part on the side, and I like a very short, clean cut look. I am typically loyal to a local barber. For the first time in a long time, I have received compliments on my hair after Melissa cut it. Multiple compliments. Seriously, my look is similar, but my hair looks sharper and it has probably been 30 years since anyone even noticed it. It is a great cut and I will certainly send people there, including my father when he is in town. For the record, my father is 72, a retired business executive, and he isn't looking for "attitude," nor am I. That brings me to the points I would like to politely rebut, so that you at least feel comfortable giving it a try. The review in question states it is a bit expensive for a "humble cut." I would say it is a humble price for a professional cut. The price is less than 20 bucks. It cost about the same as a fast food trip for two. It is very expensive to keep a small business running these days. Priced health insurance lately? Rent? Even if you go to a chain, you are going to pay this in many cases. My wife pays anywhere from 3 to 5 times this amount. You can find cheaper barbers. As I have stated, I am sticking with this place for the foreseeable future. I am a value buyer. I look for "bang for the buck." The review in question states that there are two "distractions." One of those is an attractive, "cool" person cutting your hair. Um... Why does the persons appearance have anything to do with the product? I am really scratching my head over this one. If you are insecure, yeah, you can go to another place I guess. I didn't give it a thought. She can weigh a hundred pounds, or 250 pounds, as long as I walk away with the same quality hair cut. Now for the complete disconnect. The other reviewer states that the haircut is served up with attitude. What!? Just disregard that. That is so far from reality that I can only guess that it either was tied to the other issue with the stylists looks, or maybe he just had a bad day, at worst a misunderstanding. I have waited in there with every seat full, half of them with guys like me, half with kids with cool young cuts. The owner walked over and poured us each a cup of coffee if we wanted one. Politely and professionally. She always shows concern for the length of your wait and gives you updates. The salon has a consultative approach. You will be asked some polite, concise questions to insure you get the cut you want. The communication is very good. I also learned about new hair products (who knew that styling gel was so 1980's). Melissa recommended a product that works fantastic on my hair and keeps it in place. It is similar to going to a good establishment to buy a suit. They consult with you and make you look better. I need all the help I can get. Give it a try. Great customer service and work ethic. Great hair cut.

I have never had any issues with lightening my hair before. And to get charged $195, for this?! My balayage for my wedding was way cheaper and MUCH better looking than this (different salon). I'm disappointed to have to write this review but even more disappointed that I'm stuck with this hair. This was after the stylist had two tries, used toner and "let the purple shampoo sit" in my hair for some time. I wish I would have known how bad it looked in the back and with natural lighting before leaving. Management has still not contacted me after I called the store and left my information. Update!!! After getting in contact with the salon manager/owner, she refused to give me a full refund but offered to fix my hair herself. I did get $60 back, and agreed to come in for a 3rd attempt. This experience was MUCH better. The owner, Amanda, was able to take out the brassy tone and blend the colors so it's no longer blunt. While it's not exactly the color as I wanted, it is SO much better and I feel like I got my money's worth. Also another stylist, Brandon, was super nice and styled my hair perfectly, making sure to inform me on the products he used in my hair. I'm glad I gave this place another chance, and was able to walk out happy with my hair.

First off I wanna say I have never written a review like this in my life. Cost Cutters on Hudson…read moreDrive in Cuyahoga Falls was a TERRIBLE experience for me. From the minute I was seated in the chair I was made to feel that it was an inconvience for the staff that I walked through the door. The first words spoke to me were, " you have a lot of hair and you will be here for at least two hours for a cut and color." I replied confirming I understood it would take a while and that was ok with me. The employee looked frustrated as if she hoped I wouldn't have my hair done. She walks away, comes back and tells me we will have to do a strand test for coloring and that will take another hour. Once again I say that's ok. She leaves and comes back again. This time she tells me my hair looks to damaged and she can't do my hair. I leave in total disbelief regarding what just occurred. Point out period, she did not want to do my hair. In 15 years I have NEVER been treated this way at a salon. My hair is just beyond my shoulders and is in healthy condition. The reason I know this is because I scheduled another hair appointment at a different salon and I asked about the condition of my hair. The stylist told me your hair is in pretty good condition and just needed a trim. I got colored n cut as I always do and left another salon very happy. As a business owner I treat every customer as if they are the single most important person. Sorry for the long post but this salon needs revamped in regards to their staffing. I WOULD NEVER GIVE THIS SALON A DIME OF MY MONEY. Please take my post into consideration before choosing this salon.
