I've worked in healthcare for nearly 20 years, specifically pediatric care, and it's quite unusual for staff to not introduce themselves, not say a hello or good morning, and not to acknowledge or interact with the pediatric patient. If you have to go get ENT consider the West Bloomfield office - you might have a better experience. I wouldn't go back to the Macomb office.

In office she was not passing her audio/visual hearing tests in the booth, and was having frequent colds and sinus issues. After multiple attempts, we decided to wait until all the colds/sinus issues, teething, and growth of the baby teeth stopped to reschedule and try again. She is now doing great and everything was normal. They are very clean and on time, well staffed and friendly, and extremely understanding, knowledgeable, and helpful! Asking them if he is allowed to even touch them for a physical examination. Understanding their needs and talking to them like they are people and not beneath him or like they are just kids. He's very respectful and he's very educated attentive pays attention and listen's to my children and also makes them aware and is willing to explain to them without rushing at all. I have never in my life had the opportunity to meet and have a great doctor like him in my whole life. It's really still unbelievable but my children just love him and love how he's a good listener and loves how Doctor takes his time with them both and never rushes them and always asks if there's anything else that he is forgetting or that they forgot. I'm in disbelief but my children and I know how lucky they are to have found a doctor like him. Also the employees in the front desk are very wonderful and respectful. These days we have to be very grateful and thankful for a good doctor because they are hard to find. My children definitely appreciate Dr. Kanal as their doctor and this is not even enough but you won't regret him as your doctor I will say that. All we want for our children is a real caring doctor almost like they are his own children. They offer ear piercing and the waiting area is also a good size. One of my favorite features about this office is the online portal. It's especially helpful when you have a newborn/infant, and you have non-urgent questions. The doctors are very good at responding within a day or two. They also recommend a family-owned pharmacy across the street where the pharmacist is equally as friendly and welcoming. A great experience and I highly recommend this office!

On one occasion my wife had to leave before being seen. If you do make it in to meet the Dr., she rushes into the room then most of the time it seems she doesn't quite remember you or your child - no real personal touch. Our daughter had a fast heart rate at about 2-5 months and each time Dr. Catalan saw her she'd comment that her heart rate was a little fast and we'd have to refresh her memory. I recommend going to a smaller office with less clientele.

If I could give ZERO stars. This place only cares about your money. Not your child. They turned a…read morefriend of mine away after agreeing to see her daughter when they wanted to wait on vaccinating. Then when they got to the office they told her they would not see her daughter because she isn't vaccinated. (Meanwhile she's only 2 weeks old so the only vaccine she hasn't received is hep b and vitamin k). Today we went to have our 2 month check up and they told us they wouldn't see her because there's an issue with my insurance. Thanks for the heads up! We were in the parking lot, and the only notification I got about the issue was a text saying "please call front desk regarding insurance issue" 2 days before the appointment. When I tried to call I was on hold for 29 minutes without ever speaking to anyone. So I hung up figuring we'd work it out at her appointment. Funny that they turned her away for not vaccinating and turned us away on vaccination day. Thanks for nothing scumbags. We are looking for a new office with doctors that care
