This is the second review I've left for One Medical, and I normally wouldn't go out of my way to do…read morethat -- but I felt the need to elaborate further because of how unpleasant and unfortunate this experience was. This was one of the most disheartening and discouraging healthcare experiences I've ever had -- and what makes it worse is that it was my first time seeking help for my mental health in over 15 years. I grew up in an environment where asking for help -- especially when it came to medication for mental health -- was seen as a weakness. So it took everything in me to finally overcome that and make an appointment. After a particularly overwhelming six months, I built up the courage to be honest about what I was struggling with and what had worked for me in the past. I wasn't demanding anything -- I was simply trying to communicate openly, hoping for a supportive and respectful conversation about my care. Instead, I was met with judgment and ultimately rejection by Harley Berning. She initially prescribed me a lower dose of the medication I mentioned -- no concerns or hesitation. But after I followed up with a message asking if this was the right plan going forward, everything changed. My prescription was suddenly revoked after it had already been sent in and paid for, and I was told she could no longer continue my care. It felt like I was being punished for being honest. I was mischaracterized, dismissed, and made to feel like I had done something wrong just for asking questions and advocating for myself. That kind of distrust -- especially when someone is finally trying to seek help after years of struggling -- is incredibly damaging. This experience didn't just shake my trust in one provider. It made me question whether I should have ever reached out in the first place. And I imagine I'm not the only one who's walked away from One Medical feeling like this. If you're someone who's anxious, vulnerable, or trying to overcome the stigma of getting mental health care -- be careful. I wanted this to be a step toward healing, and instead it left me feeling worse than when I started.

He's extremely kind, patient, and overall an excellent doctor. I enjoy having him as my PCP. I just wish I didn't have to schedule so far out for an appointment. It's a blessing and a curse, because he's so popular! Mariana Racovita- I recently had an acute visit with Mariana and she was wonderful. Kind, courteous and more importantly thorough. I'd love to continue seeing her as well. The other staff (medical assistants and front desk) have been good for the most part. I've had some off experiences but are willing to look past due to the overall quality care received from Thrive. Shout out to the lab techs though, because they are always wonderful! Thank you!

Scheduling online was easy and the front desk staff was very nice and got me back in the clinic quickly. When I got back into the clinic, the tech told me that there was no X-ray coverage at the clinic until after 530 PM and that I might be referred out. The nurse practitioner who saw me then said she'd want labs on me as well as an X-Ray and ultrasound. I told her that I was concerned due to losing time fron work and that I would not have come to this facility if I had known they couldn't even do an X-ray. She told me she'd get me with someone to schedule an X-ray and ultrasound and order the labs. The person who was attempting to order the imaging said she had no luck with Austin Radiological and tried calling Baylor Scott & White in Round Rock and she gave up after being on hold for five minutes. She said she sent a stat request for me to be called. I finally received a call the next morning. I waited over thirty minutes for the labs that the NP wanted before I gave up. While waiting, I asked to speak with someone about the wait times and the lack of coordination. The charge nurse explained that they're short on radiology staff and that on Wednesdays, there's only one lab tech on duty. She gave all the standard customer service pat phrases and said if I wasn't happy, I could contact patient relations. I am confident that patient relations has the same lines memorized too. In short, the facility isn't staffed well enough to handle both routine care for the providers and for an urgent care operation. The lack of coordination and the short staffing really make this location best suited for routine care. (And my PCP at this location is excellent.) But for anything more complex than a routine visit, you need to go elsewhere. Had I known of the limits to what they could provide, I'd have gone elsewhere from the start. And despite the NP being worried about a clot, my symptoms resolved overnight and, with a relatively quick consult with Dr. Google, matched much of the description of a Charley Horse. As a clinician myself, I recognize the need to rule out more serious conditions, but the particular finding I noted is classic presentation of a Charley Horse. I'll come back for my regular PCP care, but will be going elsewhere for anything semi acute that requires a same day visit.

I rated his service as 'above and beyond' and would've scored him at 10. However, over the last couple of years, I've noticed a declining trend in quality of healthcare and front office professionalism; wherein, the nurse practitioner held the notion that Diabetes was curable. Since my A1C was in check, she would no longer prescribe the medication that had been keeping it in check. It was not a pleasant experience getting this escalated to Dr. John's attention. When finally that occurred, Dr. John immediately requested a refill for the prescription med, yet made no mention of the NP's error - or that she would be re-trained. Over the years, his office staff deteriorated, particularly his wife - who clearly rules the roost with autocratic rudeness. While I'm grateful for the decades of great medical care I received from Dr. John, I'm happy to see him retire - and hopefully his wife as well, such that patients can receive the awesome care once delivered by Dr. Paul John, MD.

I don't remember her name, but she was super nice. I waited maybe 5 minutes in the room - overall wait time was around 15 minutes (arrival to Dr time) - and Dr Wolf was super easy to talk to. I went over my concerns and she addressed everything in a very easy to understand manner. She asked that I do some bloodwork and things, which I did the next morning. Within a few hours, her nurse had called me about an abnormal result and they walked me through that process. Definitely like Dr Wolf and have referred a few of my friends that recently moved here to her! Appointments seemed easy enough to make. I got in within a week, but I didn't have anything really going on like a cold or something. Most Dr's like that will squeeze you in if you needed to be seen quicker, but I haven't had to do that at her office yet. Anyways, I was satisfied with getting in to see her in a week for what I had going on.

Now that I have seen more doctors in Austin and am aware that they all see huge numbers of patients I am more appreciative of the kindness and professionalism of Dr. Wolf and this practice. She has coordinated my care but it has always felt like a partnership through a tough year. She rocks!

I probably interviewed 7 different pediatric groups when I was pregnant and loved the group and doctor I chose at the time (2005). That doctor has now retired. However, Dr. Gajjar is just down the street from Austin Area OBGYN and Dr. Cowan (my OBGYN)--also much trusted. The St. Davids Womens Clinic, where my OBGYN group has deliveries is also down the street. Dr. Gajjar is thorough, compassionate, and truly cares about her patients. Having worked with pediatricians going on 17 years now and being a working mom, I recommend Dr. Gajjar without hesitation. She guided us through the pandemic, middle school sports issues and awkward puberty moments. She genuinely connected with both of my teens (3 years apart and 1 a boy and 1 a girl). I am thankful to all those who have been by our side, but would have been thrilled to work with Dr. Gajjar when my children were infants, as well as now, when they are coming into their own. Her staff is friendly, approachable, and compassionate--something I have learned is invaluable over the years. We are so thankful to have Dr. Gajjar in our lives and looking after the healthcare of our beloved children. We are native Texans and have been in Austin for over 22 years. My care with Dr. Browne was consistent and I enjoyed her openness to my personal needs, but the last time I was there for my annual exam, I was left for nearly an hour in a cold room with nothing but my mask and a tiny robe on. For anyone out there who has to get pap smears, you know the task is already a daunting and stressful one. I had to open the door to the hallway and ask a nurse if I had been forgotten about. When it was clear that I had, they rushed in offering no apology. I'm now in a situation where I have found a new provider through a Direct Primary Care format, and need my medical records. After contacting the office, I was told my records were sent to a third party and that I'd need to contact them. They didn't even have the phone number or any information to give me about said third party to access my own medical records. So now I have to be my own advocate and search the big wide web for my very private and personal information. Listen, I know our medical system is broken. I do not fault the nurses and doctors of this practice knowing and understanding that. Do not be fooled - hospitals are big businesses that function like corporations these days and just want to make a profit. They do not care about your personal well-being. SO IF YOU WANT ACTUAL CARE, if you want a system that is functional and supportive, do not go to Lone Star Circle of Care or whatever they choose to call themselves in the near future. You deserve better!!!
