It was not quite as elaborate as I had remembered, but I suppose everything seems grander when you are a kid! The boardwalk had loads of indoor arcades, interactive outdoor games, fast food spots, rides, mini-golf courses, an aquarium, the famed and bustling Martell's Tiki Bar, and much more. I did not go on the actual beach this time, but it looked beautiful and pristine. There was also a huge volleyball space on the northern end that offered a load of courts to add some excitement to your beach afternoon. The boardwalk was not too crowded and was very well-kept. In terms of parking, there were several lots trying to charge you $30 for the day, but, if you were not planning to be there for long, I would recommend paying the meter for municipal parking ($2.50-$3.25 per hour, depending on the day). While it might not have been as long or exciting as I had remembered, the Jenkinson's Boardwalk was still a fun place to enjoy on a summer day.

My Funplex experience was AMAZING! A friend saw a post online about an After Dark event so we…read morebooked it. The After Dark hours were from 9PM-1AM for a 21 and over crowd. When we arrived, everything was up and running as if it were daytime. All the games, rides and attractions were in service. I rode Go Karts for the first time in yearrrs and I actually came in first place. Me! That was dope. The BIG FUN though was all the water rides. Lazy River, pool tubing and the main pool were all open and full of people ready for a great time. We were treated to a DJ who understood the crowd assignment and shoutout to the most wonderful staff. All employees on this night were in a great mood and they gave party vibes too. The promoters didn't over sell this event, so crowds and lines weren't a problem at all. I had such a blast that I wasn't even mad about getting my phone wet. I'm looking forward to going back to The Funplex for another After Dark night out. I thought they were gonna shortchange us but that didn't happen. We were given the whole experience. Good stuff!

It's adults did not get the passes for ourselves so they weren't about to do the go karts. Just something to keep in mind when planning ahead. Overall cute experience for being local.

Also the Candy Factory they have wasn't opened, reason when we asked .... Short staffed. They had a sign up on the front entrance saying we are short staffed. We didn't notice the sign . It was small and not on the door we entered. Your spending money expecting what you're paying for is going to be there. I did approach the staff person who checks everyone in. I have to say she was very apologetic and gave his 4 free passes for the next visit. I'm not there to get anything for free , I'm there for my grandkids to enjoy themselves. I went here my entire life growing up, right up until the day it closed, which was honestly pretty sad. It was one of those places that worked for every age group, but as a kid it was especially magical. The rides felt incredibly fun and, at the time, pretty scary too when you were little. Another great thing about Castaway Cove was its location right on the boardwalk. You could bounce between the rides, the beach, and all the little shops without ever running out of things to do. And of course, you could spend the whole time walking around with funnel cake in hand, which made the experience even better. For me, it's a place tied to a lot of childhood memories. Anyone who grew up going there probably understands exactly what I mean.

We have been going to Castaway Cove for the past 10 years with our grandkids, starting at Age 1 and…read morenow age 11. It is perfect for them at this age range. They have enough diversity in rides that they haven't outgrown it. Our favorite right now is the Rock and Roller! We make the trip to Ocean City from California which gives you a good idea of how much they enjoy it. I think part of the attraction is not only the rides but also the boardwalk (which we bike ride every morning), the beach of course and, where we stay (the Beach Club Hotel) makes it the perfect spot for kids/grandkids of this age.
