One of the hardest climbs my daughter did.

The customer service here is EXPECTIONAL! We flew all the way from Las Vegas JUST for MOA. We walked up, asked for a 60-minute climb session and asked about military discount. They applied a great military discount and told us about all the other businesses that offer the same discount. There is a manager there (forgot his name) who interacted with my oldest daughter. He encouraged her to try some of the hardest climb sections. Gave her tips and even challenged her to do some climbs differently to challenge herself. There was a Crayola colored climb that she became climb #198 to ever complete it. There was a regional manager Steven who was awesome!!! He came and chatted with me and we told him we booked a family vacation just for MOA and their climbzone. He offered us an additional 30mins longer climb on the house as it wasn't packed and we came a long way. The customer service at this place is over the top. I am thankful to have interacted with them. It has made my vacation so much more special!

Another new venue at MOA. We stopped by to watch our granddaughter. Even though she is not quite five, she scaled several of the walls with glee. It looks like a real fun climbing area. Adults can do it also. Just watching the kids climb was fun and cost free.

Family entertainment, kids getting exercise climbing, at MOA so one parent can watch and another can shop, pretty safe zone for climbers (belay assist system), no charge for spectators, new to Minnesota and MOA...so much to say about this new venue! Be sure to sign your waivers to climb online or at the ClimbZone counter. The pricing is 30 minutes for $19.99 or 60 minutes for $23.99, or a 3 month membership for $99. The staff will set you up with your climbing equipment (NO NEED to bring your own) & show you the ropes. Pick out your vertical endeavor and CLIMB! Be sure to get here early, before the lines.

Our 7 year old son in loved this place. We reserved an hour slot ahead of time via their online booking system. Pretty seamless at check-in as a result. He got in his harness, got instructed all within just a few minutes, then you are on your own. I thought an employee would be helping with each harness click in and out but they make it so easy it really isn't necessary. I'd say if under age 6 or 7 then a parent needs to be ready to assist after each climb. Saw a number of you get kids enjoying themselves as well and 2 or 3 adults too, but definitely kid focused. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Thanks!

That shop's manager has now opened Lake State Mountaineering with similar wares and similar values. So we're talking high quality canoeing, climbing, camping, and hiking gear from a combination of large, small, and local vendors. They have a website you can order from, but if you want to browse in person and get knowledgeable advice from this passionate crew, you can pop into the shop. They have some pretty high-end merchandise, but I'm seeing some tempting sale offers and they have a rental program that might help you get kitted out for an adventure. This storefront location might be tricky to find at first. Enter through the building's Washington Avenue door, next to the barber shop, then follow the signs through the door there and up the stairs, where you'll spot them. I promise there's a nice store up there! You're on your own for parking but it's easy enough to find metered street parking. If you want to properly gear up for this kind of activity and want the best equipment, sold to you be a locally-owned store who will give you honest recommendations that come from deep experience, this is where to go.

They also carry high quality gear like marmot and Patagonia and those are not excluded from sale which is a rarity. Definitely a hidden gem of a shop and where I will be coming back to get gear for a good value. It's nice to have a local option that caters to the outdoor market besides REI.

I paid $94 since my baby was 3 months old and coming only to kids classes. I canceled during the holidays and decided to come back only to find out a much cheaper rate that I could have been paying in the past 9 months. I had no idea! And I looked online as well at their class options. This was not offered as an option. Also, it sucks that you can't put your membership on hold! My baby was sick and we couldn't come for 2-3 weeks but I still had to pay $94 for that month! Come on! The gym seems behind in technology and they should educate their attendees better about the membership options. My baby loves coming to class here. The crawlers yoga is very fun! They have created a community in this studio for women and children, have childcare, and allow you to come and go as you please. They even often classes where you are encouraged to bring your baby and either practice yoga/barre, feed, or even sit and close your eyes. The space is truly yours to do what is calling to you. That part I love, love, love. Now for what I don't love. Unfortunately the atuis a little small and the yoga mats they provide are a little.... worn and torn. But mostly, I have felt a bit intimated going there. Many of the instructors and women practice eastern/holistic practices which I think is absolutely great! I have so much respect for that. But I didn't feel respected for my choice to practice western care- especially when it comes to child birthing. Maybe it was this one instructor- and I am not giving them a fair chance? But I felt daggers for being a suburban, working mom and who had a western childbirth. And that is not welcoming. Also- I wish the studio had mirrors to work on form. I think there are a lot of great concepts here and with minor tweaks can get there!
