More bouldering and auto belay
Barret W.

Very very solid gym right in downtown Tacoma. The staff was super kind in welcoming me in for first time and got me all set up. I am used to gyms that grade each climb specifically - so this was a nice change because they give a range for each climb rather than specific grade. Tested my skills more than i probably would regularly. They said they set a new wall of climbs each week - which is a great way to keep the gym fresh. Will definitely be back next time I am in town. Solid value and plenty of boulders to pick from!

Friendly staff & welcoming environment! It was my first time climbing here and it was an amazing experience. Plus they have a cute wall with pictures of the animals that have visited. Adorable!

Entrance to the training room and a good example of the mats and method of taping routes.

Climb Tacoma is a smaller bouldering gym compared to the gym I usually go to. But it's walls are packed full of fun movement! The staff have always been helpful and friendly when I visit. The mats are soft and I like that there's lots of places for people to sit off-mat so that you never feel like you're going to land on someone if you take a big fall on overhang. It's got a community-centered, kind of old-school vibe that I love. I highly recommend visiting! Plus they have a ping pong table (or used to; not sure if it's still there).

I am new to this whole climbing thing... I've been to a couple other places but this is the first time climbing with out a belay system. This was challenging and fun at the same time. The staff are super friendly here. My friend had been in before so we didn't need additional instruction but it was offered. I can definitely see this as a great way to pass away the rainy days! I am really looking forward to coming back... Especially with my kiddo. I was super impressed with the kids climbing in there! There are changing rooms, too!

Solid gym with lots of bouldering problems of varying difficulty. There is limited parking right outside the gym.

This is after a really crap experience shopping yesterday, where I spent hundreds of dollars and was negged to the point I asked my husband "Do they hate me?" And all he could say was "I don't know. I think they are just b*tches." I may be overwhelmed, but never once am I rude. It takes about a second grade level to decipher the difference. Day in and day out, I am spending time just making everyone else around me happy for the holidays. I don't know where this sh*t comes from. I have not experienced such female venom in my entire life, and I speak as the party girl who went home with your boyfriend back in the 90s. Now I am a mommy. And I am raising girls to be bada!!es in a world where their civil rights hang in the balance. Why the actual F am spending a good chunk of change where they treat me like a nuisance? Furthermore, by a specific demographic of women who are better off than say many others in our country.() I do my due diligence in this community. I vote, am active in the union, and speak to legislators about improving our schools. I am also nursing my senior RESCUE dog of 15 years to certain death. Like... what is your problem? What the F did I do to you? Why am I justifying the need for basic human respect when you are in a service position? I don't need you to kiss my , but how about you don't meet my questions with a stone cold glare when my children are learning how to socialize with adults? I asked for help from a nice male customer to avoid Mean Girl Mentality. He offered to help on the section where someone has to man the ropes. I told him the girl in front is so rude and cold, I am not comfortable asking her for anything. He offered to do it for us. Perhaps a white man can solicite a more appropriate customer service attitude than a mom who is raising two liberal girls who want to get comfortable with extreme sports ... (Newsflash, she was nicer to him). I will tell you what, I am sick and tired of young women treating me like sh*t. And I don't know why but I certainly won't spend this amount of money where customer service makes it a point to make me feel unwelcome. I will go to Tacoma and save myself the horrible social interaction. I am done with Cirque. (Post script, there was a nice woman my age who helped us return our stuff. That is the human interaction I understand and appreciate. However, I will not return with the current staff in place.)

I found it to be a great deal. Miles showed up around and taught us a lot! He was very knowledgeable and patient. Everything is in very good shape. We got to try bouldering, auto belay, and top roping. Also got a tour of their gym, which includes a lot of climbing-specific equipment along with tradition gym equipment. The place is very spacious but there did seem to be a lot of families on the weekend, so a little crowded near the auto belay. Not a knock, just something to be aware of when timing your visits. They have a lot of events and theme nights too. It's just a really cool place, hoping I can build some muscles so I'm not so sore next time, and can come back soon!

Don't go here. Sure…read morethe space is great, the center is clean, the parking is wonderful. And that is it. The staff here for private events are the worst. Firstly, front desk flat out told me no, we couldn't set up the chairs and tables early even though the room wasn't in use and it would cost us extra. Okay, you can't set up early, no problemWhen father came, they told him "well maybe, it may cost extra, we will have to see." Interesting how the answer change for a woman versus a man? Flat no for me and oh we will see for him? Service for the room. The family had reserved the south room with the stage and projector. They had it part of their package as they were going to project a video and wanted the stage for the live band... tell me why they told my friends family "we will have to charge you extra" to get the projector fixed that my friends family paid for?? Why are you telling us you are going to charge us for something you are supposed to provide? Make it make sense? Because we lost that space on the stage the band had to perform on the floor taking space from our dance floor... they refused to compromise/accommodate us for the lack of the thing my friends paid for. We had no dance floor, we had barely any space which we would have had if we actually had the stage. No one really danced, it killed the vibes of what was supposed to be a beautiful coming of age celebration. Honestly, the space may be gorgeous but the service is so atrocious that you shouldn't come here.

Beautiful venue, but the experience was extremely disappointing…read more I hosted my daughter's quinceañera here, and unfortunately the staff made the event far more stressful than it needed to be. They were rude, unaccommodating, and repeatedly interrupted us throughout the night to remind us about wrapping up even though there was no event scheduled after ours. It felt like they were rushing us out the entire time. Initially, we booked the venue when talking to the coordinator that we would be allowed to have our service dog there. The staff was questioning why our service dog was at the party and we have had that conversation already & the coordinator said it would be okay. On top of that, the projector screen was positioned in a way that blocked the stage, and we were told we'd have to pay extra to use the stage even though the issue was due to their equipment being broken before our event. It was unreasonable and frustrating. Overall, the constant interruptions and lack of professionalism from the staff overshadowed what should have been a special celebration. The venue may be beautiful, but the service completely ruined the experience.
