This place is definitely a must do for the family and friends groups. Not too mention it's a body building but very fun. The staff is friendly and helpful if you need them. I will definitely bring my 15 year here very very soon!!!

Price was a bit steep... but tweens/teens loved it. They loved the variety of challenges, the different details on the walls, the different types of walls and the different technical levels. Also liked that it was not super crowded on a holiday weekend so they didn't have to do a lot of waiting. From a climbing experience the kids rated it a 4. From a checking and costId rate it a 2. Customer experiences are about the end to end customer journey. The check-in was so brutally painful and clunky and could easily be fixed with a few technology upgrades. Y

That climbing wall is SO TALL.

Solid Climbing Gym! They have especially cool, creative routes, and some awesome holds (which makes sense, since they started out as a Hold Manufacturing company). Their Bouldering routes skew a little more on the physically demanding (long and overhung) and exceptionally technical (on their Slab walls). But, seeing as that exactly what I've been craving, I loved it here :) From an aesthetic standpoint, this is an especially nice and well-kept gym, with tons of ceiling room and a lot of natural light. Most of their routes are ringed around one HUGE column in the center of the gym. Bouldering routes cover half of the column on the upper floor, while they have the tallest indoor rope routes I've ever seen running from a lower floor (on the back side of the column) to well above the Bouldering routes. Those rope areas are particularly nice, because they're backed by an entire wall of factory-size windows. I would throw in a caveat here, a lot of the other Climbers are friendly and nice, but there are large groups that do the make-up-your-own routes exercises and can take up huge chunks of the wall for 2-4 Climbers. They weren't awful or rude or anything, but they also were really hard to climb around for quite a while because they were going back to back without pausing. Nice bathrooms and a weight training area in the innards of the gym, but no showers or changing area aside from the bathrooms.

    Autobelays 5.7-5.9

This ... this is a happy place. I could say it's a great gym, but it's more like an awesome adult playground where cool kids go to hang out. (What is it about rock climbing that generally attracts the most laid-back people?). The staff are upbeat, friendly, helpful, and most importantly, genuinely welcoming to newcomers. Michelle at the front desk is super nice and great at answering questions. The other climbers are sociable, and there's a neat sense of camaraderie here that isn't present everywhere you go to work out ... People who are taking a water break WILL watch you while you're on the bouldering wall, but you'll know they're rooting for you. I'd say it's a great place to meet people, if you're a gregarious sort of character yourself. As for the facility itself, there's not much to NOT love. A lot of bouldering space ranging from V0 to V12 with corners, overhangs and this weird, giant bulging bubble shape that I've watched a few gravity-defying individuals crawl across sideways. The lead climbing wall is multiple stories tall and looks terrifying. There are even six autobelays, which are a godsend for newbies and those wanting to scale greater heights solo. Those routes range from 5.7 to 11+. Even if you've never climbed using a harness before, a staff member can show you the ropes (har har), and you'll be ready to start climbing with the autobelay. Day passes are $15 without rental (shoes, chalk, harness etc.), but you can get a 10-visit punch pass for $120 ($180 for 10 visits + rental equipment). Basic memberships begin at $59 a month, and I believe they have student discounts for those. They also have regularly scheduled classes for you to learn rope skills, as well as other fitness classes like yoga. Oh, and the busiest times are after 5 p.m. on gloomy weather days. Have fun!

Place is a hidden gem in the back of Chesterfield Commons. Lots of space, a multitude of classes,…read moreplenty of equipment on sale there to enable you, and even children birthday party areas. Party room is solid and functions well for the needs, but it's the kids climbing area that is of value. Over 10 separate walls of varying detail, obstacle climbing spots, plenty of automatic repel machines, counter walls, and even interactive obstacles like build your own block walls. Only drawback is ventilation within that children's climb area as it gets hot quick and even if they bring in a box fan, it doesn't circulate the whole room which is what's needed. The main climb area is well cooled and ventilated so I really don't understand why that one specific area is so bad.

A great bouldering gym! We were visiting from DC so here is what I wish I knew about the gyms…read morebefore researching myself on the r/climbing subreddit on Reddit and other sites: This location (Chesterfield/West County) is basically a bouldering gym. It's located in a large strip mall which also has a Goodwill thrift store on the other side. Very little top rope climbing (just one wall). I believe the Maryland Heights location is supposed to have more top roping but we didn't go there. Day passes were kind of a teeny more expensive than I was hoping ($20) but if you can return again at all the memberships and class packs sound like a good deal. They also were running Black Friday sales for the weekend and those seemed good too but we couldn't really be around to take advantage of those. We were there Sunday early afternoon and there was no one else there. People started trickling in around 3pm and by 5pm there was a healthy crowd there, but still pretty easy to get on a wall with almost no wait. The kids seemed to be having a great time in the "Wacky Wall" area with the auto belays. It has a separate reservation portal/system and separate pricing. There's also a small private room off to the side for birthday parties and events. The climbing "cave" was pretty cool but damn do the holds need to be brushed. Slid off (probably because we rented shoes as well) more times than I'd like. Pretty challenging routes and a good variety of routes too, but I'm not sure how much they reset them. The wall whiteboard said June 2021 but that didn't seem updated. The fitness area was decent but I'd maybe become bored if the area became crowded with more people using it at peak hours. But since I wasn't planning on becoming a member, it was perfect. :) Locker rooms and showers were a little dated and old (women's side, I did not see the men's) but fit the requirements. The lockers have their own electronic locks with instructions on them, but I couldn't get them to work/many of them were locked. It didn't matter much to me since I wanted to keep most of my stuff in the cubbies out in the climbing area anyway. Wish we could come back to the gym more than once this trip but I'm sure we'll be back in the future.

I really thought I was going to love this but in the end too many things bothered me about it…read more First, we had a reservation for 10 for the 3 hour adventure but didn't get started until almost 10:30. Some of that time was waiting for the last 2 people to show up which they did at 10 or few minutes after. After that we weren't sure what the hold up was. Sean was our guide. Perhaps he isn't really a "people person " or he was having a bad day. He didn't seem into it but the worst part was that he left us. After the 3 of the 5 sites we saw him only 1x maybe 2x. He gave us no indication that we were going to be on our own. One other guy did pass under us and asked if we were doing good but I think he was just passing by. I was with a friend and when either one of us had done zip line previously there were people to help or over see at each end of a line. Obviously this was different. So glad we didn't have an emergency. Another issue I had was the landing areas esp for site 2- the wood chips were built up so high, all 6 of the people in our ground fell or landed pretty hard. One lady thought her back was bleeding. The last 3 zip lines I didn't fall but it wasn't pretty site either I'm sure. Ha. I started in a group of 6 but then only my friend and I completed the last 2 sites. I don't think that had anything to do with our guide but was a more a reflection on those folks. Their platforms at the top of the trees are very small so when you reach the end of an "obstacle " it was hard to stand on platform to unhook from the cable. The bumpers (not sure of right term) extended too far away from the platform on quite few of the trees which added to difficulty. It was nice that they water at each of the sites. Also their store prices on items that you might need such as gloves were very reasonable. While we were completing site 5 we saw a deer right below us so that was cool. Tips: gloves with exposed fingertips are better especially if you want to take pictures, wear older clothes and look at as many pictures as you can find of the " adventures" so you know what to expect.
