When I tell you that Blue Ocean has changed my life, I really mean it…read more My two closest friends started working out here a couple of years ago, and after finally giving in to peer pressure, I decided to give it a shot last January. I'm coming up on my one year mark and I can honestly say it has been one of the best things I've ever done for myself! I never felt great about any gyms I've belonged to in the past. I'm not a huge group class person, and personal training has always been $$$$$. Enter: semi-personal training! Basically, each of the trainers here has a few clients at one time, but it still feels, well... personal. You get your own workout, there are just others around you doing theirs, and it actually adds a fun element of community at the same time. Instead of working out so hard that you can barely walk the next morning, the approach here is more reasonable and based on intentional repetition vs. killing yourself. I typically do three circuits made up of 3-4 exercises, 3-4 times each. My muscle growth has been slow but extremely consistent, and I'm finally seeing the exact results I've always wanted. Working out three times per week at Blue Ocean has kept me feeling so strong and healthy. As a bonus, when I have to travel for work, I can pause my membership--and they even give me workouts to do on the road. The trainers are fantastic people, and the clientele is great, too. I look forward to belonging to Blue Ocean for a long time!

Outstanding Fitness Club That Sets the Standard…read more As a former competitive athlete and business and civic leader, I have experienced many fitness facilities over the years, and Crunch Fitness Manchester stands in a class of its own. From the moment you arrive, it's clear that exceptional leadership of the Club's Sr. Managing Partner has created a culture of professionalism, accountability, inclusivity, and outstanding customer service. The staff consistently demonstrates courtesy, knowledge, and a genuine commitment to member success; all emulating the club's leader who is a Sr. Managing Partner for the Crunch Fitness organization. The facility is welcoming, energetic, and motivating, with an atmosphere that makes members of every age and fitness level feel valued and supported. The club is exceptionally clean, equipment is always well-maintained and readily available, and the spacious layout makes every workout enjoyable and efficient. The variety of state-of-the-art strength, cardio, functional training, and recovery equipment ensures there is something for everyone. The group fitness program is equally impressive, offering outstanding classes led by enthusiastic instructors who inspire members to reach their goals. Operational excellence is evident throughout the club, and the attention to detail, from the exterior appearance to every area inside the facility, reflects leadership that genuinely cares about member satisfaction. What truly distinguishes Crunch Fitness Manchester is its diverse, welcoming community and a culture built on excellence, respect, and continuous improvement. Every visit reinforces why this club consistently exceeds my expectations. I highly recommend Crunch Fitness Manchester to anyone seeking far more than a gym. It is a premier health and wellness destination and, in my opinion, a benchmark for what every fitness club should strive to become. Five stars without hesitation!

With the 4-pack, I have to choose one or the other each week, but I'd like to go to both. Sometimes I have to miss a class I reserved, and usually I just eat the credit. The staff are nice. True definition of hurts SO good!…read more I've always been an avid fan of this sport but never imagined taking any classes. I was introduced to this place from a friend two years ago and have been coming ever since. When I first came, I was able to use a 7-day pass and take a few classes. I was nervous because I hate not being good at anything (especially when it comes to sports) but also because I didn't know what to expect. The first class I ever took was Mimi's class at 10am. I was able to meet with her before class to go over the basics. It made me feel comfortable, especially since I didn't know what I was doing! For that class, It's an hourlong and consists of a warm up, 8-rounds three minutes each of boxing combos, and then 14 minutes of abs and core. While she has since left, Dominic has taken over and I believe still keeps the same format. Over the last two years, I've tried out several classes and instructors, but have grown to love the 45 min class on Saturday's taught by Drea. She's engaging with the class, thorough with her instructions, has challenging workouts and the BEST music! She wasn't here yesterday and the class was taught by Jaffet instead. One thing I appreciate about this place, aside from the bomb music they play, is the consistency. No matter who's teaching, I'll always get in a good workout, learn new combos/ moves I'm unfamiliar with and leave feeling like I just conquered the world! Yesterday was no different and I was really happy with the class overall. If you're looking for a change in your workouts, a rush of endorphins, and feeling accomplished, look no further than SLBC! They have classes every day of the week and have something for everyone no matter what skill level. If you're not quite ready to commit to a membership, you can always pay per class as well! Did I mention it's black-owned? Keep up the amazing work, Heath and Diontre!

I am a self-prescribed CrossFit addict. I have been a member of many gyms in both NYC and LA over…read morethe years and this visit to see my folks in St Louis led me to stumble upon CrossFit Xtra Mile...which is my St Louis CrossFit home now! The key, to me, between an 'ok' CrossFit gym and a 'great' one is not the equipment or the cool t-shirts...it's the community and the vibe you get when you walk in the door. You can tell pretty much right away what you're going to get by how the people are to one another and you, and the coaches. Rachel who seems to single-handedly run the place, was extremely helpful on the phone, greeted me sincerely and warmly when I walked in the door, and was helpful in getting me set up to work out there. You could tell she had a stake in the place and the people there. If you are new to CrossFit or thinking about joining, DO IT. You'll know pretty soon if it's for you. And if it is, you'll want to join a gym like this one. I have tried to do other things over the years and NOTHING scratches the itch like CrossFit. AS long as you have trainers that know what they're talking about, don't push you to go beyond where you are, and a community of support, not douchebaggery and testosterone-toxic competitiveness, you are golden.

I have attended 20 classes so far and I'm in love! Something about the quick 45-minute length makes…read morethe workout bearable--it really does fly by. The coaches are great and always able to give modifications if there's something you want to emphasize or avoid. One of my favorite aspects is the ability to go slow and lift heavy if you want to (or speed up and lift lighter if that's more your style.) A variety of class times makes it easy to stay accountable and committed. And with the small class size, it's easy to be friendly and get to know people (if you want to.) The classes are definitely hard--and Iove the variety because I know as long as I'm consistently attending, I'm not missing any major muscle groups. There isn't a formal cool-down or stretching period, and I"m bad about doing that on my own--but it's totally worth it to keep the workout in that super convenient time frame. Highly recommended.

The pool observation area is top floor with the track. Windows are around to observe the 50 meter six lane pool. My issue is there is little to no spectator area. A single row of seats is it. There were parents from both teams in big numbers with no seating. Also the fact it's a six lane pool reduces competition. Finally the climate was not well controlled. The SLU pool for a D1 program is a disgrace.
