He yelled alot throughout the workout. He also was wearing daisy Duke shorts which I found odd considering it was 5 degrees outside.

Powerfit bootcamp is, by far, the best group exercise program in the saint Louis area. Check the…read morewebsite for locations, but you can go pretty much anywhere and have a great workout! I signed up via groupon just to try it out. In my head I was thinking of how boot camp really is in the military and was slightly worried the class would make me cry. I've never been so pleasantly wrong! I'm not athletic. Actually, I hate exercise. That's what I thought. What I found out... I'm still not athletic, but I don't hate exercise when I'm doing it with a bunch of people or maybe 3 other people like I hate being alone on a treadmill. The classes are always a new adventure. Without a doubt, the trainers make that program and classes fun. Real, legitimate, fun. They push you in all the right ways. They haggle you and you can give it right back, you can cheat on the stairs and they will know, but let you know you're only cheating yourself. To be fair, it takes some time to be able to do the exercises well. I'm a clumsily, non athletic person, so my workouts are always a little off! I've since broken my foot so I can't run (and my asthma just wouldn't let me run before very much either) but that's ok. There's always an issue with a client and always a solution so that everyone gets their own workout. Because that's what counts. But honestly, doing as much as you can during the workout is far better than doing nothing. And lots of the techniques are things you can do at home for practice. Like when I was in bed for 3 months this winter because of my foot, I laid in bed watching Netflix....working out my arms. Armed with a heavy book and extended arms, I did circles with the book that worked my arms and even a little core. If you want to laugh when you workout, this is for you. If you want one hour exactly and not a second more of a workout, you've found it. If you feel like you didn't do anything on the treadmill for an hour, you probably burned the calories of the yogurt you had for breakfast. If you're looking for a short, fast paced workout with very strategic maneuvers that will tone and sculpt your body you've found it. If you're looking for exercise classes that are supportive, strong, challenging, customized to you, you don't have to look any further. These classes have everything you want and lots you didn't even know you wanted. Honestly, vanity will so win, but health will trump your hot bod... And I swear it takes about a month and 3x a week to see the changes and a week to feel like your whole body is happy for you.

Whether you know all the exercises or are just starting out, they care enough to make sure you are getting the most benefit out of their workouts safely. I just started on my path to wellness and I have felt like part of their family since day one! They offer a one week trial so that you can make sure TeamSam is a good fit for you...I knew within that week that this was the place for me! No more feeling lost and unsure of how to get myself strong while staying injury-free. The other athletes are all sizes and abilities and are all so friendly - and happy to be there working out! Logistics - good equipment, clean bathrooms and a great water fountain set up so you can keep your water bottle full! They even have a kids area, so the younger generation can hang out while mom and dad workout...leave your tiny ones with a sitter - there's no supervised childcare in the facility. TeamSam offers a bunch of different classes - boot camps, "booty squad" for groups of 8 or so, cardio kickboxing, "LittleMissFit class" and small group personal training (up to 6). And the most impressive thing is that they charge a fraction of the prices at other gyms and you get so much more out of their programs! It is definitely worth your time to st least come check this place out!

They encourage ladies to lift heavy---it is surprisingly difficult to find boutique studios that adhere to this philosophy! I trained several times with Michelle, who meticulously corrected my form. This is exactly the kind of personal attention I am looking for and that I do not always find at the more franchise-type studios. TS bootcamps are HARD (I recall doing calf raises on the curb outside the front of the studio in the heat--that was killer) which I also appreciate. I'm a working parent and looking for max value from my workouts with the time I can find for them, and this place definitely gets it done.

Missouri Pickleball Club is an indoor pickleball facility located in Fenton, Missouri. They have 18…read morecourts available and also sell quite a bit of pickleball gear including paddles, bags, and accessories. They also allow you to demo paddles. There is a giant parking lot right outside of the facility and I have never had an issue finding a spot. I have been a member ($25/month) for about 2 months now and have taken advantage of their perks. For example, they offer a good amount of beginner and advanced clinics, paddle stack play, organized play, and league play throughout the week. You sign up for these events through an app (CourtReserve) and then scan your own personal bar code to check in. These events run almost all day and are open to non members but are cheaper if you have a membership. You also have the option to reserve a court but each person playing on the court is also charged too. They also host tournaments here that you can sign up for. So far I've done drill and play, organized play, paddle play, and have reserved a court at some point. It is nice have the organized play/paddle stack options and play with new folks when I don't have a group to play with. The courts are also pretty nice and the bathrooms are kept fairly clean. There is a wide range of DUPR levels (2.5-4+) which allows for a wide variety of people with different skill levels to participate. Some downsides are that the cost to play can add up considering the $25/month membership plus any additional event you want to sign up for which can range from $5-$30. Starting January 2024, they also charge a $50 account activation fee for new and returning members. This is fine but I think it would be helpful for them to be transparent about it as this is not listed on their website and was sent through a members only email. I do like MPC and am enjoying their events but will likely be returning to outdoor courts once the weather warms up.
