For the three meat we had brisket, sausage, and chicken. For their sides, we also had mac & cheese, green beans, cornbread, and beans. Brisket was most disappointing. The Texas barbecue brisket that I know do not require knives. They should be melting in my mouth. I knew as soon as it came out I knew this brisket was going to be dry. Sausage wasn't as disappointing as brisket. It had some better flavor. Chicken was cold. Honestly, that's all I have to say about that. I don't even know if anyone in my group liked any of the sides they have received. Cornbread was out of the box. It was dry flaky. Tasted like it was reheated from the day before. Green beans tasted like the canned green beans you get from grocery store. Only thing that we all agreed on was that their barbecue sauce was great. Unfortunately, this wasn't the Texas barbecue that we were wanting.

I heard from other people in my party that this place is just a small stand with hardly any tables, so everyone that orders is just taking out. For dinner, we picked up some artisan pastas, anchovies, burrata, and sauce. We also got some crackers, fennel salami and manchego cheese for apps pre-dinner. Drunken Noodles had large shrimp in a spicy, savory sauce with large noodles. That was the first sign this was not an especially classy place. They're serious about it--they shut the music off at 8:45, and all you hear is the staff cleaning. Since I had a gift certificate I needed to use that night before leaving the area, I didn't have much choice, so I said sure. Then the Panang curry with shrimp came out, and the shrimp still had the tails on. I had to take each one out of the curry and de-tail them with my fingers. The plate was too small to hold the tails, and they didn't give me an extra dish, so the tails ended up on the table--kind of gross with all the curry sauce dripping off them. The mango sticky rice dessert came with mango still on the rind, so again I had to use my fingers and the spoon to separate it, and the rind also ended up on the table. My napkin got soaked from wiping my fingers with mango juice and curry sauce, and I had to grab an extra one from the table next to me. All of these things were a bit frustrating, but the food was absolutely amazing. I loved it and would come again if I lived in the area--just earlier, and I'd ask them to de-tail the shrimp for me.
