****** Downgrading score UPDATE 7/7/2014:*************** I am going to have to lower he score on this one guys and I'm only leaving the 2 because of the average of my 2 experiences. (a 5 and a 0) They scheduled my maintenance appointment on July 4th between 11 and 1. (July 4th was their suggestion not mine as they said they would be working a half day.) I wait and wait. Around 12:15, I left the phone for a few moments and missed their call. I tried calling them back exactly 3 mins after the last missed call and got the voicemail. I listened to their message that said they needed "verbal confirmation" before they could show. Really? They didn't do that the first time. I called repeatedly and kept getting voicemail. I left 2 messages stating that I was still home and I stepped away from the phone. No one called back or responded. Fast forward to Monday (today.) I call and leave a 3rd message. No one responds. Does anyone ever answer the phone? - I understand it was a holiday but again they suggested the appointment time and not me. - Why do you need a "verbal confirmation" if I agreed to your suggested appointment time. If that was the case why couldn't you have called earlier to confirm I was home waiting. - If there was a job that ran over why didn't someone just call and communicate that? - Why didn't anyone call me back on Monday to apologize for the inconvenience? Thursday seemed like a case of the team being ready to start the weekend but I didn't like that no one tried to rectify it today. That was poor customer service. I'll find another company to service my units. ************************* 8/29/2013: These guys are awesome. I originally called GB Services because of all the wonderful Yelp reviews. They were booked yesterday so they referred me to the owners "buddy" Brian with Climate Masters. The receptionist was very kind called me back about 2 minutes after I left my message. She was very personable and even tried to ask my questions to troubleshoot over the phone. Brian came over and since I had to work my mom hung out at the house to wait on him. They gave a window of 12-2 he arrived right after 12 and didn't stay long. I thought his pricing was fair. My mom said that he was very friendly/professional and even called her outside to show her the parts he was replacing and explained to her what was going on. He explained the service package and I liked that I got a text of the final charges on my phone so I was still in the loop at work. Now what impressed me the most!!!!! I have been in my house about 5 years now. My room is the warmest in the house(and I've been privately bitter about it.) I had my former HVAC repair guy come in to take a look. He fixed it from hot to lukewarm. I've had other people look still lukewarm. So I have just been dealing with it thinking it's an insulation issue or something. Mom said she mentioned it to Brian when he was there Brian went in my attic and did some adjustment (in my mind it included magic and fairies.) Last night I come home and guess what?! Icy air forcefully engulfs my face when I walk my the room! I was so excited. I know the true test will be a warm day but so far this is the coolest it's been in there when I came home. Well, it's one year later, and I'm lucky Brian and Karen had come out last year to service the HVAC and give me advice on getting as much as I could out of this 30+ year old unit, otherwise it wouldn't have lasted out the year. It was time for Summer maintenance, and I could already tell the old gray mare just wasn't what she used to be. Turns out my indoor evaporator coil was done for. Time for a new one. I trust these guys, and have come to know them by their deeds, so when they gave me a price I knew it was fair and gave the go-ahead. Out of curiosity I checked a few forums and the prices others were quoting all over the country were all higher than what Brian quoted me. So the very next day during peak season, with the high reaching 97 in Atlanta, Brian's son, Austin, and another employee, Moe, came out to do the heavy lifting, on time as usual. The best vendor is the one who handles problems outside his control like a professional, and that's exactly what they did. I live in a house built by Georgia's ridiculously cheap 1985 building codes, so the original blower-furnace-coil installation was in a tiny closet that was obviously built around the unit, and the new coil was about a half-inch wider than the ultra-narrow closet door frame. On top of that, the narrow strip that is usually bradded in place and easily removed was instead a one-piece cheap glued wood piece from floor to ceiling. Moe carefully sawed through that half-inch part, then carefully pried it away from the base to which it was glued, in such a way that it was easily bradded back into place after the job was completed. You'd have to look for a seam to see that it was ever sawed. Then there was the need to completely re-route the flue pipe because the new coil's connections were in a different place, requiring a trip to the supply house for new flue pipe, and the gas line to the furnace was also in the way. Add to that having to get into the rafters to pull up the existing plenum because the new coil was also taller, and you get a little idea of how much extra work was involved. What should have taken them X hours was more like 2X, and *none* of it was their fault in any way; it was just the way my house was poorly built and the understandable differences between old equipment and new. When all was said and done, I had a house that cooled to a comfortable temperature. Now here's what was unexpected. I called Brian and thanked him for the extra above-and-beyond his son and Moe did for us, and that I was concerned he was losing money or just barely breaking even on the job. I asked him to compare his expectations to what it actually took, and give me a number that would make things fair. He wouldn't hear of it. It's just the way he works, he told me. He had thrown in cleaning my outside coils and was going to refund the previous day's service call if I replaced the coil, but I told Karen to just keep the money from the service call. It was the least I could do, and I still feel like I should have paid more. So as you can probably already tell, when it comes time to replace the blower, or the furnace, or the outside unit I put in 15+ years ago, guess who already has my business? I cannot recommend Climate Masters Heating and Air highly enough. They are on a different scale from the rest. Thank you Brian, Karen, Austin, and Moe. Better make sure to get proof of insurance. My insurance company is having to file suit against them for very large water damage to my house due to poor workmanship (honest error) and their refusal to respond. I used them in the past and they did good job. This time however was a different story. Initially they were great and responded super fast to an AC issue, but when a problem occurred 28 hours later, they got an attitude and hung up the phone. I had still planned to use them to replace to AC/Furnace units because I liked the owner, but when the "attitude" came out from the owner, that killed my plan to use them. read more

Call another company. Brian and Karen never answer the phone. They missed two appointments when I call the phone just rings. I ended up calling another reputable company and they came out the next day on time and very courteous. Fixed my Ac and earned my families business. read more

Climate Masters recently serviced our HVAC. They did a great job and were able to fix problem quickly.

We called Climate Masters because of problems with our upstairs central A/C unit. When Brian came out he pointed out to me the shoddy work done by the contractor we had used for the install and explained how it was keeping my unit from working as it should. He had jury-rigged things and cut corners. When Climate Masters got through putting things together properly, the upstairs unit is now cooling better than since we have been in the house, including the bonus room which always seemed to stay hot. Ok...not ranting...literally just got off the phone with Brian...he said: "there is no way of knowing if the run capacitor is going to fail". Coming from an engineering background, that got me puzzled, so I looked into it. Ok...capacitors are diagnosed using capacitance and one way to know that the capacitor is about to go bad can be by measuring the capacitance (mind you he was there about a month or so). Ok...will give him the benefit of the doubt...but when I went online and saw what I got charged for a capacitor...I was yelling rape...less than $15 for the part and bill came to 100 times more for less than 30mn of work. I understand business and convenience, but that still does not excuse highway robbery! The conversation on the phone was even funnier...and I mean not funny but sad. The usual happened: first, they explain calmly, then you ask them "I am trying to understand", then the defensive wall comes crashing. Hope I didn't rant but gave some insights into the interaction. My review is based on me using their service in the future or recommending them! I am at a good position to know that even ok contractors are scarce; the good ones are a rare breed. Got more to say...but hope this helps someone to just be cautious at least! read more

My old HVAC abruptly stopped workin and I was desperate to have a new one installed. Brian showed up to my apartment the same day I called to evaluate the situation. After a walk through of my system he was quickly able to determine the best HVAC to install. One piece I needed in particular for the installation was hard to find because of the unique situation. Karen called several different places to find the piece and have it shipped as quickly as possible. Once the piece came in 2 days later an appointment was made for the next day. Brian stalled it and took care of removal of my old HVAC. I did have an issue with the new system but it was the manufactures fault. Brian called the vendor to get information on the issue and came the next day to fix the situation. My entire experience with climate masters was great as they were extremely friendly and reliable. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of this service. read more
