The ambiance and…read moretheming is fun, the tropical drinks are great, and they have a pretty substantial food menu compared to other tiki bars I've been to. I generally gravitate towards the fish tacos and either get tots or onion rings. Their ranch is amazing - really creamy and herby. And I always start with a mai tai before moving onto something stronger like a Zombie. The last time we went it was so packed we had to sit at the low-top part of the bar which was kind of like being at the kids table when everyone else is towering around you, but we didn't mind. I wish I could remember our bartender's name, but he was really attentive. The service there, in my experience, has always been good. Anyway - I've been here many, many times over the years but have never left a review, so I decided I needed to change that. I'm glad this place continues to do well (it's almost always busy when I'm there) - I will continue to spread the good word and bring new people there. :)

To be fair, that was the total for the group, so the number alone isn't what bothered me. What bothered me was looking at the food, the portions, and how much we actually enjoyed everything, then feeling like the value wasn't there. The chips and guacamole were probably the clearest example. For $15, the amount of guacamole looked like roughly three tablespoons, and it had a dark greenish-brown appearance that wasn't particularly appetizing. I'm not going to make assumptions about how it was prepared or how long it had been sitting, but the presentation and portion were disappointing. At that price, I expected something more generous and appealing. The pu pu platter was $35 and came with an assortment of items, but the portion looked appropriate for about two people. A platter doesn't necessarily have to feed an entire table of five, but even with that in mind, it didn't feel like a particularly good value. The $15 buffalo cauliflower also failed to impress. There just wasn't enough about it to make me feel that it justified the price. The Caesar salad was probably the best thing I tasted, although I only had a couple of bites. That says quite a bit about how underwhelming the rest of the food felt. There was one positive comment from our table about the Kalua pork tacos, so I want to give those some credit, but I didn't personally try them. They were $18 for two tacos à la carte, which still struck me as a fairly steep price. After reading other diners' reviews, I noticed some similar reactions: people who enjoyed parts of the experience but felt the food was only okay, or that the prices added up quickly. Experiences clearly vary, and some customers really enjoy the food here, but the comments questioning the value made sense to me after our meal. I don't expect every restaurant to be inexpensive, and I'm happy to pay more when the quality and portions make it feel worthwhile. Here, too many items landed in the "fine, but nothing special" category while being priced high enough to create bigger expectations. Three stars feels fair because there were a few things to enjoy, but the food and overall value left me wanting more. At these prices, I'd need a more consistently satisfying meal to feel excited about coming back.

We had reservations for a Sunday night and were seated at the best table in the house. This speakeasy cocktail lounge is small & dimly lit, which creates a cozy & intimate atmosphere. The Polynesian inspired décor is on point. Bamboo beaded curtains, thatched lamps, tropical prints, & an eight-foot tiki statue add to the charm. Our server Sean was fantastic with a capital F! He entertained us the entire evening. Of course, Tiki cocktails served in kitschy glassware are the main attraction but they also offer Island inspired dishes if you are hungry. (You can also order food from Tail O' The Pup downstairs.) The building was once the recording studio for The Doors, so we had to order The Ghost of Jim Morrison. Sean delivered the flaming drink while singing a Doors tune. Elvis in Hawaii arrived on a platter with an Elvis head on it. Lucky Tiki Old Fashioned was presented in a treasure chest with smoke coming out of it. The Flying Fish came in a cool Blowfish vessel. The Lucky Mai Tai was one of the best, the Classic Daiquiri was nicely balanced, and the Rum Barrel packed a punch. All the drinks were tasty and strong so we ordered a few nibbles: Coconut Shrimp, Lucky Orange Chicken, & Wok-Fried Chow Mein. The food was yummy and hit the spot. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the presentation of the drinks and ambience. Thank you Sean for making our visit to Lucky Tiki a 5-star experience. *Metered street parking.

I love a tiki bar (usually a wine drinker, but a dry martini or a good tiki drink, will speak to me at times!) and this place does not disappoint. Service is easy and the vibes are so fun. They have fun gimmicky drinks (Captain's Inner Circle!) and the old stand bys (exceptional Mai Thai.) The decor is also so fun (Jim Morrison's old studio) and you can order hot dogs from downstairs. Only reason they aren't 5 stars? They implement seating time limits, even when it's not super busy. I 100% understand they have to have turnover, but I would gladly pay a little extra, to hold a longer reservation! Street parking, but don't drive...get a driver or a Waymo!

It's smaller than I expected with more outdoor seating than indoor, so be aware during summer time and I'd recommend mosquito repellent! We did not make a reservation (I do recommend if you want indoor seating on busy nights) but we came at 4 pm and got a table that was reserved at 9 pm so we got to sit until we left that table at ~8:30 pm. We loved the indoor tiki decor and thought the whole vibe of the place was so cute and charming and we did appreciate some of the other customers who dressed up in Tiki style clothing as well. We did get dropped off/picked up but there's theoretical street parking out front for your DD (drink responsibly!!). They had a summer drinks special menu and we got the TBD and the Pure Imagination, I preferred the pure imagination. But our absolute favorite drink was the Nutty Chi Chi, a vodka blend on a classic Piña Colada! They don't serve food themselves but there is a taco stand out back after ~6pm that takes cash + card (card fee!) and will drop off food to your table. Such a fun night and looking forward to coming around again!

The drinks are not really like super bad ass craft cocktails. But are priced like one. The service is less than "okay"; I recently came here around 9pm and it wasn't that busy and there were 4 women behind the bar and none of felt welcoming - the crowd was fun but my friend didn't want to stay because she thought the bartenders seemed miserable. (And note, selfwareness check: we all have bad days, but all 4 seemed icky so we figured we'd stop contributing to said offense and took our money elsewhere). Anyway, over all, to sum it up: nice enough bar- overall on a bit of a decline, and wouldn't call it my fave bar even after all these years.
