I have really come to enjoy my visits at Clifton Barbers. I have been getting my hair done by these guys for years now and have come to respect the process that others seem to dislike. You will have to wait for the cut you came here to get. Period. This is something you must know before coming in and will ultimately, like me, learn to respect about this business. These professionals take their time and they operate in a small storefront. The detail of your cut depends, as it should, on the extent of detail you explain your desired cut to be. They definitely are well-trained and their diversity of skill is evident by the diversity of clients that walk in and out of the shop. Clifton Barbers is under new ownership. (Finally!) Cody and the guys remodeled the shop themselves. From the beautiful mint-green walls to the still-functional antique cash register, the place reflects the staff's dedication. Cody's shop is a rare-find in Cincinnati, and he couldn't be in a better location. He's classically trained with a modern sense. Whether it's a professional looking classic, or a more stylish cut, Cody's going to make your hair look good. Listening to the guys talk about how a quality hair cut takes time and how much effort they've all put into their trade made me feel comfortable. I always see people walking around with haircuts that are faded perfect, and I'm jealous. My haircuts always suck, and I end up going home and fixing it in the mirror. Today I Googled Cincinnati's Best Barber shops and Clifton Barbers came up among some other barber shops. It stood out to me because Clifton has always been a cool place to hang out. All of the other Yelp reviews said how AWESOME this barber shop was, and they were right. Every barber there was cool. The owner made me feel right at home too. The guy who owns this shop is the most racist man I have ever met. For a while after my haircut I just sat around feeling bad at myself for not saying something about his completely horrifying view of the world. I even wondered if I might have been on some kind of "What would you do" type show - and I failed. Dan's been cutting my hair for 15 years, and I've always been happy with the cut. It's a small old-school barbershop, so the styles are simple and opinions are shared freely. I see that others think Dan is a racist, but I don't believe that's the case. Dan has definite opinions about EVERYONE, regardless of race or class. I've had a lot of haircuts in my lifetime but this was by far one of the best ever. A bit of a wait but I learned to go between 1:00 and 5:00 next time when there are 5 barbers working.
