The seats are very narrow I am average size but the seat was snug. A large person would not fit. Leg room, there is none. I am 5 11. A tall person with long legs would be miserable. Looking at the next level up (the nose bleeds area) look very steep. Too steep for me. I understand that this is typical of such venues. I will watch the basketball game from home. Better view, comfortable seats , convenient snacks and great facilities.

So, we took a friend from India to a recent basketball game, and he was automatically hooked. He mentioned that he had never seen so many people. The arena offers plenty of concession stands and restrooms. The lines for both weren't overwhelmingly long. Parking is so-so, which is typical of downtown Lexington. I parked on Second Street by some law firm for a small fee. A good tip when the weather is freezing is to take the elevated pedways. One begins at the 5th/3rd building, the tallest blue-glass building in North America. It's like a maze, but the kids enjoy it, and Indian visitors find it fascinating, too. Takes you straight to Rupp Arena. The bottom line is, if you have the opportunity to attend a game, be like Nike and do it. On a side note, a friend mentioned the arena isn't that great for concerts due to the acoustics and angle of the seating, and that it was meant for basketball only, but I don't have any input since I use an interpreter.

I watched the Women's gymnastics team tumble against Univ. of Georgia's women. For gymnastics, it seems that no seat is a bad one. The apparati are placed such that all seats have a clear vantage view of all the equipment. Even seats in a tucked-in corner have a decent view. I had one of those corner seats and was kicking myself for not buying the tickets earlier. Instead, I waited until the day before the event because I wanted to ensure that I could attend. Surprisingly, the seat was a good one anyway. Now that I know how easy it is to buy tickets and attend a meet. Plus, I realize that no seat is a bad one, I will try to attend more often.

If you are going there to an event, I suggest to get there early to find a decent parking spot. The home side of the bleachers has wooden seats with backs. The visiting side not so much, just a long bench seating with no backs. The AC in this facility does not exist. Instead they use 4 Big Ass Fans (not being dirty...that is the name of the company). So if you are going in the summer, dress appropriate. The lay out of the facility still makes sense to this day and the restrooms and concession stand are usually clean. Please note that most of the events you go to see here will have a ticket purchase required. The tickets can be bought a head of time or at the doors. It is to the left of the entrance. Hope you enjoy.

The inside is beautiful, spacious, and well maintained. My school hosted our graduation here, and it was an excellent choice. Getting there was easy because we stayed at a hotel directly across the street, and our room even overlooked the venue. I didn't have to worry about parking as I parked at the hotel and walked across the street, but I believe there is either street parking or garage parking available. Outside, my school had several photo props set up, which made for a fun experience before and after the ceremony. From the moment we arrived, everything was well organized. There were staff members throughout the venue directing graduates and guests, so I never felt confused about where to go. They even had people available to help graduates get dressed properly and make sure everything looked perfect before taking pictures. Although there were nearly 1,000 graduates, the ceremony moved along surprisingly well and didn't feel overly long. The seating for spectators looked comfortable, and it seemed like there was a good view of the stage from every section. The venue was also very comfortable, I never felt too hot or too cold during the ceremony. The graduates' seating was nice, and I appreciated that there were large TV screens displaying each graduate as they crossed the stage so family and friends could easily see them. The stage setup looked great, and staff members were there to assist graduates as they walked up and down the steps, which made everything feel safe and organized. The school offered both a morning and an afternoon ceremony, and I attended the afternoon one. Everything appeared to have been cleaned and reset before our ceremony began, and the event ran smoothly from start to finish. There was no food served at the event, but overall, my graduation was a wonderful experience, and I thought this venue did an excellent job hosting such a large event.
