For gymnastics, it seems that no seat is a bad one. The apparati are placed such that all seats have a clear vantage view of all the equipment. Even seats in a tucked-in corner have a decent view. I had one of those corner seats and was kicking myself for not buying the tickets earlier. Instead, I waited until the day before the event because I wanted to ensure that I could attend. Surprisingly, the seat was a good one anyway. Now that I know how easy it is to buy tickets and attend a meet. Plus, I realize that no seat is a bad one, I will try to attend more often.

If you are going there to an event, I suggest to get there early to find a decent parking spot. The home side of the bleachers has wooden seats with backs. The visiting side not so much, just a long bench seating with no backs. The AC in this facility does not exist. Instead they use 4 Big Ass Fans (not being dirty...that is the name of the company). So if you are going in the summer, dress appropriate. The lay out of the facility still makes sense to this day and the restrooms and concession stand are usually clean. Please note that most of the events you go to see here will have a ticket purchase required. The tickets can be bought a head of time or at the doors. It is to the left of the entrance. I have to admit that upon hearing the name of this festival, I had no interest in attending. I…read moreactually thought it was going to be literally a sandwich on a lawn with old men aka "POPS". Please note, this is not the case. Picnic With The Pops is a two night event that takes place every year inside Keeneland. You can buy general admission aka picnic blanket seating or you may purchase tables that seat up to 8 people. Either way you can hear and see the stage with ease from any location on the lawn. It is great for young and old alike. The festival features the Lexington Philharmonic and a random guest(s). This year happened to feature Wycliffe Gordon and the theme was "Night on Bourbon Street". Why does the theme matter, you ask? Well, my kiddies, besides the tone of the music provided for the evening there is a table decorating contest based off this theme. This table decorating thing was serious. People brought in props and decorations and lavish place sittings. Just to deck out their table to be the chosen one. I was really impressed. There was even a table bribing people with voodoo cookies. Bribes I say, just kidding. The cookie was yummy. The winning 3 tables get their names announced and received a prize. This being a picnic wouldn't be legit without food and drink. The event provided a food truck and some drink vendors, but you were encouraged to BYOB. For those of you who aren't familiar with that term, BYOB is Bring Your Own Booze or Juice as I like to say. Some people even opted to have their night catered. I went as a guest at the Yelp table. I was fortunate enough to have Lyles BBQ cater for us. Chandler brought the food piping hot to our table and wished us a good evening before disappearing into the night. I would really recommend them for catering any event. A few other things to note...You can't get into the parking area without your ticket in your hot little hands, but the ticket takers will allow you to pull to the side and wait for your party. The next thing which I found awsome, the Boy Scouts and their little red wagons unloaded and delivered the coolers and decorations to the tables/area. How awsome is that? The Boy Scouts! They didn't even get a badge for it. Hats off to them for sure. So if you like music and food while surround by friends and fun, get tickets next time you see them go on sale. It was a great time and great festival. I will more than likely attend again.

But I've heard that since the ownership change, 21C isn't quite the same as far as art goes. I got a basic king room. Bed was comfortable, linens soft and sleek. Had a decent sized TV, a couch, a chair, modern fixtures. The shower was hot and had great pressure. Roomy bathroom. I will agree with some others who say there is a lot of noise outside. A lot of loud trucks with obnoxious mufflers and ambulance sirens. This doesn't bother me, as I've spent the last six years in NYC, but it may drive some crazy. Blackout drapes aren't perfect, but decent. Mine were detached from the track when I arrived, but maintenance fixed it lightening fast. Staff is very professional. Valet is 30 bucks a day, but they are fast and efficient. The cost when I visited in December, right before new years, was about 120 a night (again, valet is 30 on top of that), but room is great and location is right downtown. You can walk to so many great restaurants and bars. Definitely recommend.

This may be a campus bar, but it has a vibe - more upscale and super cool with friendly staff and an AWESOME stage. The rooftop is beautiful - a great view of campus and Woodland. Drinks were reasonable, especially at happy hour (2 for 1 wells!). We will be back it's our 40 year old friends to see how we fare with the college set during busier times!
