I've been to Broadbent three times in my life. Two times for graduations wanna be in my own from my high school and then I went to another person's high school graduation day. Today I went and got my Covid vaccine shot there and it was really easy and simple just drove right through it to clean arena on the inside at the shop real quick and nearby there was solid and nice but the arena itself still holds up after all these years and looks pleasant on the inside read more

The Kentucky Expo Center is at the center of a sea of about 200 acres of asphalt in the heart of the city. As a venue, it's hard to love. Even aficionados of everything about the state fair would have to concede its lack of architectural or ecological merit. But thanks to Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness, I can associate this airy little rodeo arena with happy memories of the county's first wide-scale COVID vaccination effort. I enjoyed a good dozen shifts rubbing elbows with a bunch of other do-gooders, and it was so much fun to take part in it. This review coincides with the wrap-up of this use of the space, and so it can serve as a requiem as much as a review. Next week it will serve the Kosair Circus, followed by several graduations. But may its 6-month life as a vaccination drive-thru serve as a reminder that there are times when even a creaky old arena in the center of a treeless landscape can be a lifeline and that true public spaces hold great potential for our communities when we let good organizations have that chance. read more

Eent to the Bed Races, a derby festival event at broadbent. It is an annual event we attend and a blast. Broadbent is the perfect venue with the exception of having to pay $10 to park. 30 to 40 businesses make and decorate a racing bed. Heading to the event early and interacting with the bed teams and seeing the beds decorated up close is a must. Then heading into broadbent to grab s seat and watch the decorated beds parade around the arena throwing candy and trinkets to the crowd is a.c blast. Then finally the beds are stripped to a bare minimum for the races which are a hoot. Hitting cones, wheels breaking beds almost colliding are all part of the fun. They have concessions and plenty of bathrooms and ample parking for which you have paid your $10 fee. Louisville at derby time. Nothing like it and the bed races prove that. Fun times read more

Broadbent is alright, but definitely not on the top of my list for Louisville venues. It used to be great, right along with Freedom Hall years ago. It sort of dwindles down as the years go on and nothing is really being done about it. I've definitely got to experience some fun events here though. It's a small arena so there's not really a bad seat in the house. With that being said, I as a little surprised that an event I went to was trying to charge $90-$200 per ticket...this place definitely should not be having Yum Center prices. It is nice though to have it connected to the Expo Center, where it makes for a great spot for the animals during the Kentucky State Fair. read more

Stadium is great for indoor sporting events. Nice seats with armrest and full backs, clean floors, adequate bathrooms for this size arena. I like the location, close to airport, freedom hall, Kentucky Kingdom amusement park, and many restaurants. I didn't like the parking situation, walking several blocks to the arena. There are parking areas directly in front of the arena but these were blocked off for another simultaneous event which was no where near this arena. I also disliked the parking fees, $8 per day and I'm here 5 days. No discounts or parking passes for extended events. Parking cost me more than the tickets for our 5 day event. I made my rating based on the actual arena and not my parking concerns....... read more

Broadbent arena needs some major facility upgrades. They are starting to host high school games and WWE NXT events. Those bring in a lot of people and you don't want out of state visitors to get a negative impression of Louisville. There is one positive. The staff and the people in the concession were nice and professional. They are really helpful and will walk you to your set. I understand that Broadbent Arena is old but there is still so much potential for this venue. If the Kentucky State Fair Grounds upgrades this facility I can see this place bring in another arena football team in the future. read more

Fair Board. This venue is a disgrace. It's dated. Pay 85 bucks for one concert ticket and still pay another 8 bucks to park! 8,000 people for a concert and you don't have all of the concession stands open!? Sound system for music is a joke. It's like sticking your head in a bucket of mud. The reverb from the sound bouncing off the walls feeding back into the mics... I can't believe I have to give you 1 star. You don't deserve any!!! Broadbent arena needs serious work. It's old and outdated and unless u know how to get there not really signs point u to it. Just drive around and look. Last event I went to in Broadbent arena was in 2018 for WWE NXT. Now for starters the sound system is terrible. I get it it's a old arena but is not great plus with certain bass lines not great all. Second has signs from the 80 and 90 s. Like old Coke signs, KFC, K mart etc. as for food have 1 main concession stand open then around 2 carts open depending on the event. Have a lot of the standard food like nachos, pop corn, pretzels etc. but don't expect fountain soda just bottle. Have earlers ice cream and a cheese steak stand. Bathrooms are ok I guess. But then have a area for medics that's hardly used. It's worth a try going but needs slot of work to say the least out of every place on the Fair grounds property. Also if u are parked near by not a bad walk Espically if u are close to Kentucky Kingdom. read more

Have been several times for different things. It s a good size space for events. But now here are the complaints. First the sound system is horrible. Second the food is okay at best. Went to a WWE NXT event and they had 1 stand open so the line was long and they ran out of stuff. Like beer and such. Compared to Freedom hall there food selection not that great. Only other stands they had was a Cheesesteak stand and a pizza stand and a Alcphol stand. read more

Very dirty. Smelled like livestock. We were in town for my son's senior Army Nationals Drill Competition. This is our 3rd year attending this event and the conditions were terrible. There was nowhere for the cadets to get changed between events besides the bathroom which created high traffic for the people trying to watch their cadets compete. All of the seats were dirty and dusty. The floors were sticky. I truly hope that the event is not held at this venue again. read more

We attended the JROTC Nationals on 4/11/15 at this venue. This was our first time in Louisville and first time attending this event. The arena was filthy from some type of livestock show the previous night. There was cow manure all over the parking lot and the seats inside the arena were covered in dirt. We had to clean our own seats so we could sit down. We also had to buy blankets to put over the seats so our cadets wouldn't get dirt all over their uniforms. The trash cans filled up and we had to practically beg someone to come empty the cans because they were overflowing all over the floors. The employees we encountered were rude and didn't seem concerned for our needs. There was an $8.00 fee for parking, which I was perfectly fine with. The problem was we had to leave to go get food for our cadets and when we returned, we had to pay another $8.00 to enter again, even though we still had our receipt from the first entrance. The parking attendant was rude and only said, "you should have purchased the all day parking pass", which we were never told about. We most likely would not have had to leave if the prices of the concessions inside the arena had not been so over priced. I paid $13.00 for three small sodas and a small bag of chips, that's ridiculous. A whole large pizza was $23.00. I also noticed there was a volleyball tournament at the arena next door and that group was treated like royalty. Everyone I talked to at the National meet agreed that we were all treated like second rate citizens. This is totally unacceptable and if the event is held at this location next year, we will not be attending. read more

Just attended the Army JROTC National Drill Classic Competition at this venue. The arena is not conducive to a competition of this caliber. The arena was filthy; floors were dusty, seats had to be cleaned by individual cadets to set, the inspection area smelled of animal urine and feces. The employees were rude and unconcerned about the conditions of their facility. I do not recommend that this facility be used for anything other than equestrian events. I would encourage Cadet Command and SNI to seek out another venue! I will not subject my drill team members to these conditions. Several of my cadets as well as myself returned from this competition with upper respiratory issues. Our uniforms were filthy by the end of the day. All of this impacted my team performance! Totally unacceptable. Cadet Command, SNI and residents of Louisville, KY should be ashamed of the conditions at this venue! Cadets are not animals and should not have been treated as such! read more
