Lynn Stadium opened in 2014 as the new home for UofL men's and women's soccer... and what a home it is! I can imagine the athletes and coaches appreciate these facilities, but as a fan, it definitely makes for a fun time! Tickets are fairly inexpensive (and free for UofL students with their Cardinal Cards), and there are oftentimes promos for food and/or drinks. (Yes, they serve beer.) The concession stands are not serving filet mignon, but there is Centerplate fare. (The pretzels are my favorite.) There are chairback seats lining one sideline; a student section (the Boyle-ing Point) with bleacher seating lines one end. The other two areas of the perimeter offer open seating (and/or room for kids to run around) in a grassy area. There is a very large screen with a scoreboard and plenty of Louisville Cardinals signage and logos to go around. Other universities and fans must be salivating to have a venue such as this as their home. Fortunately for us Cardinals, this IS our home. Go Cards!

It's the most premier soccer stadium of its kind…read more As an alumna of the University of Louisville and a sports fan, I can't speak highly enough of this facility. I am very glad to have been there for an opening-night double header. Basically, there is standard stadium seating around 1/2 of the field: one the length and one the width. The width side with seating is a student zone of sorts, right behind a goal, which is great, because students at the University of Louisville can go to soccer games for free with their student IDs. The other half of the perimeter is the berm. This is where I spent most of my time. Concessions, in terms of the availability, are a bit limited. However, most games will not be as packed as opening night - that's how opening nights go. The lines and time spent will surely improve as time goes on and routines are set. The main concessions are in the corner at the top of the stadium, but there is a separate place to purchase some food and (adult) beverages on the grassy area directly across the field from the other concessions. It's a beautiful complex with a great screen/scoreboard. It's easily accessible as parking is close at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium and other close-by lots. It's family-friendly. This was my kind of place to watch a game. If you're into college athletics, check it out. You'll be glad you did.

I wouldn't go so far as to say the Yum Center isn't fun or that it's unsavory to pay $80 for a mediocre seat to see a basketball game and contribute to the growing beast that is the NCAA, but it's nice to be reminded every now and then that the reason why college sports has grown to be the hulking enterprise it is today is because the product can be very good. Which brings us to Cardinals baseball. First and foremost, games are free. You can show up here with a bag of tacos from across the street and no one is going to charge you a single nickel to watch 9 innings of quality baseball. The facility is an excellent one. Tuesdays are $1 hot dogs, and Fridays are $1 Buds. The crowd is frequently good (listed seating capacity of 2,500, with 1,500 chair back seats), and there is an area in left field where you can let your kids run around. Plenty of giveaways and concessions. Plus, it's worth mentioning that U of L has a pretty good team. They regularly contend for the conference title and are often in the top 25. I just hope they don't win a national title anytime soon, 'cause I don't want to see these seats packed every game. Let's leave it the way it is, ok?

The entrance sits across the street from the main entrance area of Uofl home football stadium cardinal stadium. The entrance is actually maintained and monitored by event security. I didn't make it to the season opener against eku for the 2021 season but for the second game we played central Florida on a Friday night (and won!) so before I entered the stadium I decided to check this new experience out. Event security wands and checks you before entering. Upon entering there is a large spacious area for food trucks, beer trucks and a huge turf area full of corn hole boards. There was a stage with a live band playing and they had an outdoor bar that was packed to the gills so I didn't get a great look. They have a nice inside area that was Rsvp only. The vibe and atmosphere here was great. Plenty of fun tailgate activities. Cool food trucks for pizza or bbq and plenty of places to buy beer or harder alcohol beverages. In the very back is a patrolled bathroom that is a roll of port o pots protected behind a wooden fence for extra privacy. Everything here was well down. Very visually pleasing and cool cards decor. I think the alley is going to be immensely popular and foresee it becoming a long standing fun pre game tradition for Uofl football games. I look forward to what the future holds for the alley. I would suggest something down one of the lines, preferably the third baseline if you don't have kids. (first baseline in right field would be the choice if you have children, playground area just beyond the right field fence) Third base side of the stadium has numerous choices for food as well as a full service bar with good beer choices at the far end of the left field line.

It is a clean stadium with tv's above bathrooms outside doors so you don't miss much of the game. On the playing field there are several giant video screens that display the batter's stats and other happenings. The food concessions have a variety of options, but are pricey. My wife paid around $16 for a foot long corn dog and bottle water. Unfortunately a foul ball rolled off the roof and landed on my wife neck and upper back. It stung her for a while. Otherwise we had a good time, the bats won 8 to 2. We will return again.

I really enjoyed seeing the matches with Eugene, (Nick Dismore). He would make for a great interview on the show sometime. I really enjoyed the old 50's style commentating on Overdrive this past Saturday. They did one hell of a good job. Keep up the good entertainment guys. OVW has been a long time staple in Louisville. I have been a couple times in the last few years…read morewith a few friends and while it doesn't have the same big time feel of future stars as the past, it is still very enjoyable. Very nostalgic for old school wrestling fans and if you take it for what it is (cheap entertainment) you will have a very enjoyable time. The regulars here have passion and being in the crowd Makes you feel like you are a part of something. Most of there shows are located at Davis arena which is a tiny outdated place. Tickets for big shows run between 10-15 bucks. Depending on the event it usually isn't extremely crowded. Definitely a fun time for old or new wrestling fans. The wrestlers interact with the kiddos quite a bit so that is always good to see. I personally am proud to have this organization be a part of our city and wish it nothing but success.

It's best for track and 1-2 field events, depending on their position in the space. It's still a good idea to bring a camp chair to have the flexibility to move around the stadium. There are places to rest but it's not always near the events or the sun is hitting you intensely. Food and drinks available for purchase. Great walking area for visitors around the track gates. The parking garage is across the street, plus a playground, gas station and McDonald's next door.

Bathrooms very tiny for a place hosting brand named events. Building does have a nostalgia feel to it. The Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory was a short walk from our hotel and we came here with the express idea of having fun. For my wife and I, it was a second tour here which is pretty much the same as the first tour was [with some new players added to the roster.] Your factory tour starts out with a short movie explaining where the wood comes from and how the company is certainly doing its part on replanting trees and conservation. From there it is a really cool trip through a baseball bat production line. Actually, it is nothing less than amazing to see a bat go from start to finish. After the your we spent some time going through this really cool museum Everywhere you turn there is a 'Kodak moment' [photo opportunity] where you stand over home plate and snap a photo with a baseball card backdrop or take with your favorite players...Hank Aaron, Babe Roberto Clemente, Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Ted Williams, and even Derek Jeter. The hall is loaded with fantastic exhibits and amazing memorabilia everyplace you go. This place is fun no matter what level of baseball fan you are. They have a terrific gift shop and a stand aone area wear you can by custom bats with you name on it. You can even order bats with a logo. Marketing is definately a strong point here.

We learned all that and a lot more at the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory Tour. Of course, bats were a big part of our day. We saw bats used by scores of baseball's greats. What was very cool was the opportunity to swing a real bat used by a real star. I went up to a display board that listed scores of names, then I approached an attendant who wore white gloves to hand over my bat of choice, which in my case was a Derek Jeter bat. I was surprised at the weight of the Jeter bat; it really didn't seem to be much heavier than what I swung in my softball days. Of course, he out-homered me by about 500 dingers. There was a photo opportunity where you stand over home plate and snap a photo with a baseball card backdrop! Of course, we did that. We saw realistic wax figures of Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Ted Williams, Roberto Clemente and Derek Jeter. There are fantastic exhibits everywhere that document the history and glory of America's pastime. The factory tour was incredible and traced the manufacture of bats from tree logs into modern day baseball bats. You can buy a customized bat, and every tour patron walks away with a miniature bat. PRO TIP Carrying your miniature bat won't get you past TSA, so you'd better pack it into your checked luggage!
