There's nothing quite like a UK game--the energy is unreal! Blue EVERYWHERE, fans are fired up, and you can feel the excitement from the minute you walk in. Watching from a suite makes the experience even better. You get a great view of the entire game while still having plenty of room to relax, eat, and actually enjoy yourself. The food was decent--not necessarily the star of the show--but let's be honest, nobody is going to a UK game for the buffet. Great atmosphere, great view, and SO much Kentucky energy. If you ever get the chance to experience a UK game from a suite, absolutely do it. GO CATS! read more

I have had season tickets since 2008-2009 and today was not a good experience. Not only was the City of Lexington not prepared for opening day of football season, neither was Kroger Field. Our seats are in Section 20 and it sounded and felt like we were sitting on top of the speakers. The sound in the stadium was muffled. We could not understand any of the songs or the reporters on the field. The clearest sound was coming from the announcers calling the game. As for concessions, the so called reduction in prices is a little tricky. Only Bud Light cans has been reduced to $4.99. All other domestic beers are regular price. The concession stands on the upper level had long lines. They changed the way you line up and now it is like herding cattle into a loading chute. The line for the Dipping Dots on the upper level had the Men's restroom entrance blocked. Luckily, the football team played well today. read more

Kroger field was the designated parking area for move in day. There's lots of parking available so this was an ideal arrangement. There also were shuttles available to get back on the college campus. I have never attended a game at Kroger field so I'm not familiar with the layout of the stadium. They are definitely getting prepared for the football season. From what I could tell , everything appears to be well organized. read more

First time at Kroger Field, and we went to two games this year. It was a fun experience, especially when you go with a group. I've been to plenty of games at The Shoe, but none here to see the University of Kentucky. The most significant difference is the size comparison with Rhe Shoe at 102k vs Kroger Field at 61k. We had plenty of space to move around at Kroger Field, and the crowd was really into the game. Tailgating wasn't an issue; we didn't see much of it. Food prices were typical for a stadium. Parking wasn't an issue, as there were plenty of open spaces on the street. read more

The staff here are amazing. I was here for the Tyler Childers concert and had an issue with my ADA seating and the staff were so helpful and quick to accommodate. Venue is easy to traverse, bathrooms were super clean, and the lines for everything were never too long. read more

Kroger field is a super clean, easy to navigate venue. My only recommendations are for MORE food and drink vendors to help accommodate long lines during UK games! CFA and the markets with seltzer (as opposed to just beer) aren't as equally distributed through the stadium and you end up walking further than necessarily if they would just spread places out more! read more

I was thinking about jumping ship from my current job and working here . My first interview was with Colin who was super nice and friendly . My second interview was with the supervisor (Tyler) of the concession stands who also was super nice and friendly. The one thing I noticed was that there are half gates which is where people enter if they need additional assistance. I have to admit it was kind of confusing until it was explained to me by one of the security guards. I didn't even know the stadium has more events other than football and concerts to tell you the truth so I was surprised when they ran down the list of events that actually go on there. I've only been to the stadium previous to interviewing one time so I was kind of surprised at how massive the behind the scenes area is. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. They also have buses that run certain routes to get you back out on to a regular route that goes back downtown. The area is clearly marked so you can't miss it. read more

Nasty stadium, Rusty, cracks in structure , worn out seats, looks like this is a 80 year old stadium, trash everywhere. Goofy/Annoying fans. GO CARDS, L&N stadium is like a new Mercedes and this is like a 1989 Honda civic beater. DO BETTER CATS read more

So, I appealed the parking ticket. I wasn't very hopeful that my situation would end with positive results. However, the parking service representatives listened and responded to all my correspondence promptly. Eventually, my appeal was granted. All in all, a better ending than I expected. read more

I'm a Cats fan, I went to UK, and I love Kroger Field! I think this is a great spot to watch a game, and it's an even better spot to tailgate! The parking lot is huge, so you'll have no problem finding a spot, though you may have to walk a bit to get where you're going. (I used to park here in college and walk 30-45 minutes across campus.) I think this stadium is great! read more

I registered online for my 2nd Between thereCOVID shot's, the first time I registered online I had told them I am disabled and will need a wheelchair and someone to push me, which they did with no questions asked. The second time I registered online I told them the same thing and when I got there they had at least 4-5 wheelchairs with NO ONE there (no volunteers no UK police no one to offer assistance) so being handicapped I had to walk the whole distance they had laid out. VERY UNHAPPY I just found out from a friend who had hip surgery that this happened to her as well. read more

I am a revolutionary on some levels in that I think we should share the wealth with the common people. Unfortunately the Commonwealth never did that and neither does this stadium. However the Wildcats that play here are pretty wild, and the fans are pretty loud. First-Hand Experience: Info on my personal visit to this stadium - loved the Wildcat fans. The girls were fantastic. The 3 girls that came to this stadium with me were squealing throughout my concert in Lexington and squealing throughout the game here too. They were lovely. I've never had a truly remarkable crowd in Lexington, but the college football team certainly has one. However just because this stadium needs a facelift, I'll stick to 4 stars. I had an amazing time though. I've been to every cool stadium in the UK & North America, due to my obsession with travel & sport. I've toured America as a musician for 7 or 8 years. In that time, I've seen sports games at, or visited when empty (and usually both), at almost every major stadium in US and Canada. I have pictures of most which I will upload at some point. Also, on future travels, I plan to take new pix, and add more stadia! Watch this space! ***back to regular review*** It's probably the best sporting experience you'll get to see in KY. Unless you have some KY and can use it for some sports of your own, in a motel or something. In other words, may I see your Bowling Green please, ma'am. It's far from a 5 star stadium, but it is fun and intense and means a lot to the people around here. It's the newest stadium in the conference and if the fans were just a bit more into it, it could achieve 5 stars. read more

Kentucky is the most underrated away trip in the SEC. Most people that hear Kentucky, instantly think basketball. Well, i'm here to say otherwise. I attended: 2001 LSU vs Kentucky (LSU goes up with 6 seconds left). 2002 LSU vs Kentucky (Bluegrass Miracle) Kentucky and LSU played each other every year since 1949, until the SEC changed up the schedule in 2002. For the games I have attended at Kentucky, Commonwealth Stadium has been surprisingly really loud. There aren't any bad sight lines, and the upper deck seats aren't super removed from the action. The internal concourse of Commonwealth Stadium is in much better shape than Tiger Stadium. The tailgating scene is on par with Florida, a step below Ole Miss and Alabama. Lexington, though, is an amazing town in the fall. We got to drive around the area before game time. Crisp air, fall colors, rolling hills, bluegrass. Pretty much the bomb. For a basketball school, Kentucky surprisingly does the SEC proud when it comes to football read more

As a season ticket holder for a few years and a fan all my life I can say the experience at CWS has improved immensely. Tailgating has always been good as has parking but but the stadium needed a face lift and really got one two years ago. New premium seating options (Woodford Reserve Club or Field Club) are great seats and come with an indoor option if it's raining during the game (with beverage included in the Woodford Club) All the seats in the lower bowl are either individual chairs or bench-back seating - keeps people's knees out of your back which I appreciate. The concessions in non-premium areas have improved selection and quality and maintain some of the lowest prices I've seen anywhere (and I've been to all but 2 SEC stadiums and many NFL stadiums). What I like: Ease of access - with the renovation two years ago a few areas that used to bottleneck around the stadium have been demoed and are now roundabouts where they used to be intersections. This makes leaving for a football game easier than a basketball game (where there is a third the crowd). Tailgating - CWS has a top 5 tailgating setup in the SEC, lots of open grassy areas for tailgating, the lots around the stadium have relatively wide spaces with green areas around for folks who arrive early. My parking passes are in a garage but we still set up grills, TVs cornhole and have our own community in the garage. Sightlines - When the stadium was renovated they reduced capacity from 70K to around 64K - this had the effect of shedding the worst seats and bring fans closer to the action. I've sat in just about every section in CWS and while I have my favorite there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Concourse/Concessions/Restrooms - all improved after the renovation, concessions are cheap as I mentioned before (souvenir soda and a hot dog around 6-7 bucks) there are more concession stands so shorter lines with better TVs so you don't miss the action. Bathrooms have also been expanded and upgraded so that experience is faster and the concourses are wider so you get around faster. One of the focuses of the renovation was to allow fans to move about the stadium but ensure they are able to return to their seats as quickly as possible to avoid missing the action. What I don't like: AT&T coverage - The cell phone coverage is better than it was (I can now pretty reliably access twitter during any game) but I think it can be improved further still. Perhaps a wifi offering for fans outside the premium sections would be appropriate? Need some work here but the cell coverage is better than just about any stadium outside Vandy that I've been to. Scoreboards - The scoreboard are fine but being at places like Everbank Stadium, AT&T Stadium and Nissan Stadium have spoiled me for these huge scoreboards. The ones at CWS are fine and the ribbon boards help w/ out of town scores and stats but I find myself wishing we had expanded those further. That was pretty comprehensive - I'll include w/ my post photos from Sec 2 row 22 seats 14&15 read more

So my first time here was for the meeting between the TN Vols and the KY Wildcats. Had read where UK had renovated most of the stadium and expected more than what I got when I got there. Concessions weren't outrageous although not too much to choose from along with not many souvenir shops to choose any items from. For such a small stadium it does get loud and wild, I'll give the fans that much. Most UK were friendly and fun to hangout with. Parking is a mess if you don't have a parking pass for a marked lot near the stadium. I've been to many different stadiums and arenas and this is a small clean stadium in a good location on campus. read more

Let me preface this by saying I'm not a UK fan. Go cards Louisville all day long. Now putting that aside I will say you guys got them a nice little facility I'm going to tell you that about. Nice clean atmosphere seating was nice I could do without the bleachers to tell you the truth but hey it is what it is still nice you know good little insurance I like the walk into the place the parking lot nice I like the facilities on the outside of it where they got a little Barnes and little Stables where you can buy or rent a spot and have TVs and you can drink your beer and hang out in there that's something really nice no complaints whatsoever the screens are nice and big I don't have any complaints I mean except for that it's filled with UK people and you know being a new of Elf and we don't always typically see eye-to-eye but hey whatever take it or leave it I got to see a good football game down there and I'll go back you know hopefully in November maybe if the Louisville goes and plays them and beat them so yeah good place read more

Commonwealth Stadium is the home to Kentucky Wildcat football! With my alma mater, Mississippi State, having their best season in decades, I knew I had to take in a live game. My wife and I decided to make the short trip from Nashville to Lexington to watch MSU play Kentucky. We really had a great time. The tailgating was a lot of fun as we joined with some UK friends in the RV lot. We talked football and everything went smoothly as John Calipari's name never came up. They were all incredibly nice and made sure I always had something to eat and a beer in my hand. The game was fun. Kentucky played hard and MSU won a tight affair. My only complaint is something that they have no control over--the sun. If you attend a day game there, 2/3 of the stadium battles the sun with little relief. By the 4th quarter, it finally started to set, but I was definitely drained and had developed a headache. What are you going to do--maybe get a seat on the West side of the stadium if you attend a game with a 3:30 kick-off? UK's stadium is great. The access is easy, parking is easy, leaving is easy, and the people are wonderful. Definitely make the trip if you get the opportunity. read more

One of the more underrated SEC football experiences. After Kentucky put a nice renovation into the stadium, it really is one of the nicest stadiums in the SEC. tailgating is on par with the rest of the SEC and the fans can get surprisingly loud and create a great atmosphere for a stadium that holds 61,000 compared to some of its SEC counterparts. Chair backed seating throughout majority of the stadium so no knees in your back. With the recent Reno, the concourses and massive and allow plenty of room to get to wherever your going inside the venue. Concessions are pretty on par with normal stadium pricing and food. Big bathrooms too. Lots of parking around the stadium and with new roundabouts near the exits, it's easy to get out of the venue too. All around, a great stadium to watch some football in! read more

My wife and I went to see the Cats play the Razorbacks. We sat in section 21 row 37. THE SPACE FOR EACH SEAT IS RIDICULOUSLY SMALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted my money back. We left at halftime cause we didn't want to be pushed up against strangers another minute. It's the sorriest seating Ive ever had at a sporting event. I won't waste another penny for tickets at pitiful Kroger field.. Love The Cats. Hate the stadium seating. read more

I wish I could say this place was 5 star but it isnt the biggest and isnt the nicest. But it is a great place to go see a game not a bad seat in the house. And for the last 5 years the eventual natl champ has played here. But the truth of the matter is that UK is a basketball school, that is why you should take utmost advantage of all the tail gaiting that goes on outside the stadium mostly before the game but there are a few true fans (drunks) that will stay hours after the game and enjoy (drink) as much as they can. There are port a pots all over the place out here of course none of them very nice. Get a ticket to a game and make sure you get a parking pass bring plenty to eat and drink and have a great time. read more

As far as the stadium itself I'd give the place 3 stars more on the 2 side. This low rating reflects my experience trying to get to a parking lot in order to attend the game. Took 2 hrs and I finally just parked in town about 1.7 miles away. Police were clueless and rude. Spent 40 minutes stuck in a dilapidated slum called graduate family housing. Dawgs won though so I got over the ineptitude of the U.K. Staff read more

I have been to this stadium many times. I love SEC football and I have seen almost every SEC team here except Missouri and Arkansas. I like meeting the other SEC football fan bases. Kentucky is mostly a basketball school so its pretty easy to get a ticket here. It's a great stadium, they just renovated it. Kentucky football fans are pretty friendly to opposing fans. I am a Vanderbilt fan so we are not very good either at football. I would recommend this stadium if you want to catch some great SEC football action on a lovely fall day. read more
