As a baseball outfit, Lexington's team is low on the professional ladder, and is presently in an independent league (being unconnected with any major league franchise). They do have some respectable players. The field, while artificial, offers a nice atmosphere, and at this level of competition, I suspect that many (like myself) will be at the stadium for some sort of get-together rather than being deeply invested in the baseball itself. As a meetup space, it is easy to get to and offers good views of both the sport and the sunset. read more

The Stables is a new area in right field and it's great! First off the service was amazing! The sous chef came out with a bowl of water for our dog (Bark in the Park is very Thursday home game). The bartender was super sweet and even brought our food out to us. The elite is fantastic and my husband said the wings were great. We always have a great time at a Lexington Legends game. Everyone is super friendly, and once in a while, they'll have an interpreter doing the national anthem. As someone that is Deaf, I love that when it takes place at the game. Also, for 2018, the ballpark is tobacco and vapor free. For a state that is number one or two in tobacco sales and use, that's awesome if you value your health, as well as your family's health. Most importantly, there isn't a bad seat in the entire park. I'm from Louisville, but our workplace has a location in Lexington and visits the Legends stadium for customer gatherings. We rent the Pepsi Pavilion located behind the field. There we are allowed to feature equipment (our forklift), have a bartender and lay out a buffet of burgers and hot dogs. The pavilion is fairly large for groups, so once we've had to share the space with other companies, and has its own bathrooms so guests are walking around the stadium looking for one. Legends has a similar feel to it as compared to our local team, Louisville Bats - seats that stretch from 1st to 3rd base, gift shop, junk food, etc. Their mascot makes frequent visits around the stadium. It's a good place for friends and families to hang out, especially when the weather is beautiful. read more

Lexington Legends games are a great way to spend a summer evening. Even if you are not a baseball fan, it's still something fun to do with a date or a group of friends. (I've had many fun times socializing with the baseball game going on in the background.) Tickets are cheap ( as low as $5) and most games involve some sort of promotion, such as Kids Eat Free (Monday), Quarter Hot Dogs (Tuesday), or one dollar beers (including local craft beers) and sodas (Thursday). There are nights when you can bring your dog to the park. This August, they actually combined promotions on Tuesday games (bring your dog, quarter hot dog, dollar beer/sodas)...what a great deal! Sometimes on weekends they do fireworks after the game. I really enjoy going to several games throughout the summer and recommend it to anyone looking for something fun to do in Lexington. read more

So much fun!! Let's be honest, I don't go for the baseball but go for the food/atmosphere! The food isn't a 5 star experience by any means but still fun and good, nonetheless! My husband and I went to the game last night with some friends because we hit the jackpot!! Apparently every Tuesday night is $0.25 hot dog night! Woot woot! You can't beat a $0.75 meal between the two of us! haha! Then of course we had to get a funnel cake, which was AMAZING...but aren't they all?!?! The Legends weren't so hot last night but we still had a fun time enjoying the perfect weather, eating awesome "bad-for-you" food, and soaking in the fun atmosphere! If you're looking for a relatively cheap sporting event to attend, the Legends are your answer! PS I recommend section 210 or somewhere around that if you are going in the evening and want to be in the shade. We purposely got these seats so we wouldn't be in the scorching heat!! From outdoor concerts, charity walks, Boy Scout events and my least favorite, minor league baseball games. If I do go to a game, I go during a promotional event. The baseball games have frequent promotions along with their reasonably priced tickets... Mondays Kids Eat Free, Tuesdays 37 cent hotdogs, Thirsty Thursdays ($1 per beer)... and many random events throughout the season. Will not be back! We took our grandkids for their first game which we were very excited about. When purchasing tickets we were told all of the seats in the upper part were sold out so the only tickets available were the more expensive one right down front. I didn't mind paying more but I really didn't want to sit that close with a 2 and 4 year old. We took the seats and even by the middle of the game 90% of the upper seats were still empty. I felt like we were scammed into buying more expensive seats. I contacted the sales office next day and got pretty much the same answer 'we were all sold out'. From the stables to the lawn, the party deck to the suites, behind home plate to the bleachers; I've watched the Legend's play from every area of the stadium. It's one of my favorite spots in Lexington. I love the recent changes and renovations to the stadium, specifically the food choices and prices. The selection and quality of food have increased and the price decreased (which never happens). There's a fun theme each night, but my favorite is Thursday. "Thirsty Thursday" features $1 Beer and Pepsi and "Bark in the Park" where you can bring your dog on certain days. I don't drink soda, beer, nor do I have a dog (ha-ha) but my toddler enjoys walking around petting all of the pups. There is a free play area for children under five years old and an enhanced play area with inflatables behind it. Overall it's a great place for kids. I set a date with my mom's group and meet up with the fun moms and their kiddos. It's also a great place to take Tinder dates. :) I rarely run into people I know, there's enough downtime to have a conversation without missing the action, and Lexington nights are gorgeous! I there's something majestic about sitting under the stadium lights, sipping on a mixed drink on a Spring night. It's an experience you can't get anywhere else in Lexington. read more

I love going to the Legends Stadium in the spring! They have "Bark in the Park" where you can bring your dog on certain days-my dog loves it! Tickets are so cheap that going to a legends game is a great activity for not very much money! We also attended Red, White & Boom this past year and it was a lot of fun. A fun time, and great to bring the whole family along. My wife and myself make a point of going to a few games every year. We now take our kid along as well since he's old enough to enjoy it now. They have a number of children's entertainments set up in the park, away from the actual field, including a carousel and bouncy house. They try pretty hard to entertain kids and make Legends games a family affair. Seems to be working pretty well, as attendance at the games is pretty good and a lot of them are kids. Several times during the game they usually have some kind of on-field activity where kids chosen from the stands play out some little game for a gift certificate to a local store. The ballpark itself is pretty good for a Minor League park. Seats are quite affordable and you can be sitting front-row near home plate for about eleven dollars per seat. The announcer is fun and has a good rapport with the crowds and the mascot "Big L" is always out entertaining the crowds. The food is typical ballpark fare: peanuts, hot dogs, cotton candy, beer, pretzels. It is at a typical ballpark markup, so be warned (but I have seen prices even higher at some major league parks). The gift shop has a pretty wide variety of merchandise, but be prepared for fairly high prices as well. The games themselves are entertaining and energetic. The Legends really play their hearts out there, and you can see the pro scouts in the bullpen trying to see who to recruit, so you know they're giving it their all. A very nice sideshow are the fireworks displays given several times each season as a promotion. After the game they have a large professional fireworks display for about 5 to 10 minutes. Even if the game was a loss, the rousing fireworks always have us leaving on a cheerful note. All together, it's a great outing for a family or even just a way to go have a nice afternoon or evening watching a ballgame. read more

We recently attended the final game of the season ... the 10th season for the Legends in Lexington ... and had a wonderful time. The crowd was relatively small but enthusiastic for the home team. Applebee Park has all individual seats, reasonably priced, with a fairly tiered grandstand which give an excellent view of the action on the field. On field activities were fun & emceed perfectly by Microphone Mike. The staff had fun with the red-uniformed opposition (Rome Braves) by playing "Lady In Red" when one particular Brave came to bat. Standard stadium food, but the Kentucky Bourbon Ale was worth the trip even if you don't know the Legends. The staff thanked us for attending the game ... with "staff" including the very gracious president of the Legends, Mr. Stein. read more

Went to the July 3rd game and had Club Seats (section 207) which only resulted in one advantage, the restrooms. Could not get any food there. Appeared to very short staffed. Was told by a waitress she would come to our seats in 20 to 25 minutes. Never happened.The club offered $.25 hot dogs so I tried for that but they only offered them in two locations and lines were crazy long. Had to choose: wait in line or watch the game hungry. "POOR PLANNING" as one employee said to me. Add in very lousy parking lot with limited exit opportunities, it was not a good time at all.I've been in 50,000 packed stadiums to other minor league parks but none as bad as this one. read more

Baseball, beautiful park, and fun! We try to go to a few games per year and we always have a good time. My he games are never that crowded so you don't have to worry about having to sit on top of your neighbor. The food is your typical ball park food! They have skyline chili dogs, always smell and look yummy but we stay away for the heart ha! You can get tickets same day as the game so don't stress about not getting them the day before. Bring the kids and sign them up for the kids club so they get to participate throughout the game in the fun interactive stuff they do during the game. Lets Play Ball! read more
