I've purchased many bikes and cycling products over the years, and my experience with Chase at Spokesman Bicycles was among the most unprofessional I've encountered. It was great at first, but ended poorly. I spent over $8,000 on a new bike and paid in full on 9/14. After an agreed-upon parts swap, delays, and ultimately poor communication because of vacation (maybe pass this on to a co-worker), I called simply trying to determine when my bike would finally ship. Rather than address my concerns, Chase repeatedly interrupted me and offered to cancel the transaction and refund my money. This was especially surprising since he had previously told me they wanted the bike out of inventory to make room for the 2027 models. When I suggested expedited shipping on their dime, due to the delays, he again offered to cancel my purchase. At that point, I stopped pressing the issue because I genuinely felt he might cancel the transaction. He then told me his shift had ended at 6:00pm, and because it was 6:03pm, he didn't need to continue the conversation. I was simply asking for clear communication and a reasonable solution. Instead, I was met with a dismissive and unprofessional response for questioning the service I received. Based on this experience, I can't recommend Spokesman Bicycles. Two stars is because I wanted to believe...zero stars for my phone conversation with Chase.

Totally understandable but a center has a slightly better plan and that they will accept bikes that are electric just you have to take the battery out of it before you leave it with them. Too many problems with lithium ion batteries, exploding you know? We live in a very mountain bike, happy town here and one of the places that will fix your bike after you wreck it by bombing down Wilder through postboxes and Engleman's loop is a center cycling. They are often backlogged because people wreck the ride and drop them off here. In my experience as of summer 2025 it was about a 10 day wait to get the bike back but my repairs for damaged brakes was under $100 and that seemed reasonable. We also have a sister store over near Ni Marks, which is another great bicycling area the demonstration Forest.

Even though she used to race road and mountain bikes at the national level, she was nervous about bringing it in because, unfortunately, since she's an older woman, she often gets dismissed and treated with condescension by bike shop mechanics. As a result, she asked me to accompany her since, in addition to also having raced many years, I used to be a bike shop mechanic myself. The way we were treated by the head mechanic (I'm guessing that's who he was) was shockingly bad. He acted like we were two kooks coming in with a rusted-out Walmart bike and refused to answer even the most basic questions. Fortunately, someone else working there saw how poorly we were being treated, spent a couple minutes with us, and diagnosed the problem (which I was able to fix later) - hence the 2 stars instead of 1. I've always shopped at ABS, despite the relatively high prices, because I think it's important to support local bike shops; however, after this experience, it will no longer be a priority.

Then on the second ride on the new motor, the rear hubshell gave out while on remote trail. I only had to push my bike uphill, everything else worked and I could coast on the downhill sections. If you know,... a new hubshell is equal to, just get a whole new wheel. The crew know me, I'm a disabled veteran on a fixed income. Mountain biking helps with the PTSD. Anyway, they are getting me the best price they can, and one mechanic will donate his time to complete the repair. They are a great group of people and really look out for us veterans.
