I went with my boyfriend and his friend on a Thursday. From what they told me it's usually packed and hype but it was mellow that night. I thought it was free but the boys paid to get in. If it's a dead night I don't think anyone should have to pay to get in. Yes, they had the NFL playoff game on the TVs but after being told there would be sound for the game by the bouncer I was disappointed when there wasn't. Typically I tend to stay away from the south beach scene; however being the tour guide for my out of town friends, I feel obligated to show them. Running very late from a family dinner I had earlier in the evening, I decided to take them to the Clevelander. I know it's open late and its a pretty live scene. Well was that for! My FIRST drink for the night, mind you it was 2am, was perfect. The first bartender, Juan was a really nice guy very attentive, patient, and quick with his service. About a half hour passes(I'm a total babysitter with drinks) I decided to go grab the birthday boy and myself a round of drinks. I was attended pretty quickly when I made eye contact with one of the bartenders (not Juan, however he did check to see if I was attended) I ordered a Budweiser first cause I wasn't sure what I wanted yet. As I sit there patiently waiting for my friends drink (I'm a server, I get it) I realized he is just not serving me. When I try to get his attention, he is completely ignoring me. I finally get the attention of a new bartender who switched with Juan only to be informed that I was cut off! Um, excuse me? Completely confused, I asked her if she could grab the manager on duty for me because I was almost certain there was a misunderstanding somewhere. So I finally speak to the manager, he goes speaks to the bartender comes back to me and says he is going with to have to trust his bartenders judgment. Hmmmmm, being in the industry I know first hand managers always back us up but come on dude, you guys were completely wrong and out of line. The manager couldn't even give a reason as to why I was cutoff. He just kept saying I was nice. Oh Lordy. I remained calm but I left extremely upset and stopped my friend from giving them any more business. Never again shall I return nor bring any of my friends or and business for that matter to this venue. I'm sure they could do without my business but beware, these people lack some acute sense of judgment either that or they are just straight out mean. read more

Hotel Review: I understand this is a party spot, I guess that's what we signed up for and so I'm not going to judge them on the loud music until 5am. However, beyond that, this place was still crap. The rooms are extremely small and rundown. The walls are paper thin - at one point we thought the drunk throwing up in the room next to us somehow made it into our bathroom. There was some sort of motor that started the AC so about every 15-20 minutes we'd here it go off before the cool air kicked in. We were either awake because it was too hot or awake because the motor was going off. The staff was nice enough but they can't control the party. A group on our floor decided to bring the celebration to the hallway and drank/screamed/danced right outside our door until almost 4. Wifi was free though, so that was nice! If you're looking for a party, then this is the place for you. But don't expect to enjoy anything other than the party! read more

When I walked into the room I thought I had a huge closet. Nope it's the bathroom. It smelled horrible. As a smoker it should be tolerable, but it wasn't. Not sure if it was mold or if someone smoked in the room for a week. The club was ok but when I decided to go to bed, there was 2 lines to get in. Not sure why there was a guest line and an other line but the guy at the elevator was not nice. The elevator came down and he let all women and 2 guys in and gave me shit cuz I complained as a guest. He stepped up to me and I asked if there were stairs. He said what's you're problem. I said I'm a paying guest and should not have to take the stairs. I ended up having to take stairs. It wasn't cool as I have had medical issues. I feel miss treated cuz he was trying to get laid. Honestly wasn't gonna happen dude! Fuck off. I'm never staying here again! read more

My friend and I came here for our last night in Miami. We liked that we could sit at a table and drink and still have a conversation, but if we wanted to dance there was space for that. We loved that it was outside - being from Chicago we wanted to enjoy the weather as much as possible. Awful hotel. The hotel was EXTREMELY small, didn't even have a table to eat, no room service (they bring food from a restaurant) and you can barely even move around in the bathroom. The room walls are so paper thin that all I could hear all day and night was noises and screams of people in other rooms and walking down the hall - not an ideal place if you want some peace to do some work. The people were nice but not very helpful and knowledgeable about things. When I had questions, they would have to transfer me around to minimum of 3 people every time I called. In addition, they had no ice machine, no menu, the thermostat wasn't working, so I had to call down several times and wait 10+ minutes each time just go get someone to help me. Once I finally received my food I ordered after waiting over an hour, the steak was cold and the food was just horrible - I was not satisfied at all. Upon booking the room I asked for a late check out since I had a later flight and even called about accommodating that and was told yes. I was told I could check out at 1pm without any charge and then could hang around the hotel and have them hold my bags. When leaving, I ended up leaving earlier than planned and no one even helped me with my bags and just stood their watching me trying to get my bags out the hotel and into the taxi. Later come to find out they charged me an extra $100 + taxes for leaving at a "late check-out" which was RIDICULOUS because it was already pre-arranged and should accommodate their guests, especially after the service I received. After trying to speak with them then trying to dispute the charge, they told my credit card company they would partially refund me, but then I was NEVER refunded and the manager was rude, condescending, and absolutely no help. Talk about a lack of customer service. I will definitely NEVER come here again and do not suggest ANYONE to go here unless they just want to party. waste their money, and receive horrible service. read more

Me and some friends stopped by here on a Monday night for a chill evening, some bar food and drinks. We've heard a lot about this place and were super excited to check it out. Our server brought us our menu, took our orders, and brought us our food and drinks pretty quickly. However, he never brought us any water, and when we went to the bar to ask for water, apparently only our server could bring that to us, and he was nowhere to be found for the duration of our meal. The food at least was pretty good, as was the live music on Monday night. We'd ordered happy hour drink specials, but when our checks came, we were charged for the original prices of the drinks. When we pointed this out to our server, he said he didn't know there was a happy hour, took our checks, and was gone for 20 minutes. When he returned, the price we were charged for was still above the advertised price, but by that point we didn't want to wait for another 20 minutes so we just paid it and left. We order three drinks and salad, he brings the food and drinks and drops the check. We spending $80 plus here and Ordeluis rushing us out like we aren't welcome. I haven't even taken a bite out of my food. Then he insist that we have to give him a credit card if we order anything else. As if that wasn't enough. He comes to our table every 5 minutes for the check. We haven't even finished our drinks or food. I have been here before and this is by far the worst service. Clevelander needs to do better. Invest in better service staff. That waiter made us feel so unwelcome. If I could give negative stars I would. This place gets two thumbs down. read more

Darryl and Jazz were absolutely wonderful in helping my friends and I with assistance for our friend who became dehydrated. We are from California and were visiting for a bachelor party and us Cali boys are not used to the humidity. That being said, our friend almost passed out and these 2 gentlemen did whatever they could to help us out. This place really is a joke. Yes it has a cool location right near the beach but the prices for weak drinks is ridiculous. The Clevelander is a well know bar in the area so we decided to go. The waitresses are gorgeous and it has a nice atmosphere. But when a pitcher of domestic beer costs $27, a bucket of six bottles of domestic beer costs the same and shots of mid grade liquor are $17 I'm not sure how anyone could afford to drink here. We ordered two of their well known slush drinks. We were asked if we wanted the rum floater for $2 or the premium for $4. We opted for the regular floater.... These drinks were very very weak. I would have said that even before the bill came and for two cups of frozen sugar water and the pre-added 18% gratuity it was literally $50. We did not order any food so I can't speak to that but many people did seem to be eating. If you just turned 21 and have never drank alcohol before you might be satisfied paying these prices for weak drinks. If you are a drinker at all opt for a less expensive option a street or two off the beach. read more

The food was alright. A bit pricy, but not surprising for the location. The service was awful. We sat inside and were one of two tables in the entire bar area. The food took over 45 minutes to come out and we never got any refills from our server. When we finished eating, our server was nowhere to be found. Eventually we spotted her and got up to have her run the cards. We waited another ten minutes for that. Excellent two-night stay, 2016 Memorial Day weekend. Perfect location with friendly and helpful staff. I was able to get two $400/night rooms for for $200/per night, per room. I want to thank the front desk staff for being so helpful and accommodating us so quickly, after having a very bad experience at a previous hotel down the street . Hotel location is perfect, right on Ocean Drive where all the action and nightlife happens. Free breakfast and a small but very clean swimming pool. We were able to use both facilities.The hotel, in general, was very clean, the bathrooms are spacious with clean extra towels and a lot of closet space. We called room service a couple times and the service was prompt and impeccable. If anyone is visiting South Beach, I would strongly recommend this hotel. It will be my first choice when I return. read more

This place is awesome!! I've never had a bad time; if you're visiting Miami or even a local just looking for a night out, Clevelander is what's up. I've never paid a cover, but even if you do, its not more than 10 bucks maybe. There is live music and a couple of different floors with different themes. I've never had any trouble finding a dance partner or meeting people and the crowd is always upscale! Since I starting writing this I have convinced myself that it's been too long since I've been there. See you this weekend! read more

I was at The Clevelander back on August 30th and thought I had a pretty fun time. Our waitress seemed really friendly and we got great service from her. Then a few days ago, the fraudulent charges on my debit card started rolling in. Thankfully the bank cut it off at only $250 and are refunding my money. Before it seems like I'm unfairly accusing The Clevelander, this is a debit card/account that I rarely ever use. The card had only been open since the end of March and I've only used it at about a dozen or so places. Other than my trip to Miami, I'd only used it at legit places like Amazon, the US Postal Service and local businesses in my neighborhood, which I'd used various cards at repeatedly (I live in a very good part of Washington, DC for reference). So I looked into the handful of odd places I'd used the card and immediately came across all sorts of reports of credit card fraud from The Clevelander. I just wanted to add my voice to hopefully prevent others from getting scammed here. read more

Trendy overprice bar 6.50 for domestic beer and 7.50 for import, good people watching they add gratuity to your bill even for one beer. It's ocean drive so it's expected. Service was ok. Server not friendly. I left after one beer, I know it on Ocean Drive but its definitely a lets take as much money as we can from the tourist. read more

We tried to go back at night for a free night club... the bouncer told me to "fuck off" because my ID looked fake despite the fact that it was real, I'm very much of age (I had even already had drinks at the place), and the rest of my friends had the same exact ID's from the same state.
