Don't mix the freezer by the till as their soups, seafood and other goodies are found there. Can't wait until they open the sandwich counter again. Sea to sky mushrooms & wild foods even had the prettiest mushroom display I have ever seen! Everything here was unique and this was a great market to walk through while visiting. Mountain Meal Prep gets an honorable mention for their unique dehydrated meal prep idea. It's a healthy and easy alternative, especially for those who love camping! You get tons of nutrients and all of the flavor compacted conveniently in a mason jar and you just add hot water! Woof & stuff was my personal favorite with Amanda's cute collar options. We come here to get meats (a lot of which are from Pemberton) and they are marinated in fun sauces so all you have to do is pop whatever it is you got into the oven. I also love their salmon cuts, they are so fresh, deboned and they don't have that nasty skin on them. I'll have to address Jacob L.'s review and say that I come here 2-3 times a month and have never had bad veggies or find the shelves empty. I must be lucky? Their produce section is awesome, I drive down here to get real bean sprouts and they have cute kits to make things like tom yum soup. Their salads and cut fruit are also great time savers and I've never had overripe or rotten pieces in what I've purchased. But I will say there are double sections of things that don't make sense. I am not sure if this is on purpose or if one aisle is organic, special etc. For example there are two tea and coffee sections. One is by the freezers the other is to the left of the store when you walk in. Why is this? I have no idea but their tea selection from their own brand is amazballs and I always stock up on at least 5 types of chai tea and whatever else is in season a the moment. The other Independent store in Whistler isn't as large and they frequently run out of the teas this store carries. The bakery is spot on awesome, we get our cakes from this location (they have more options than the one in Whistler) and they carry loads of different types of massive bags of naan. Their pre-made food section is also pretty impressive. If I were a tourist heading up to Whistler, stop here and get something! Their flat beads, pizzas, spicy wings, pastas, ready to pop in the oven lasagna, quiches, and stuffed peppers are all so good. They also have awesome Indian food, that Chicken Vindaloo they serve is pretty legit. We had to wait so long that we had to go down to the coffee shop down a few stores to get lattes and pastries (Sunflower Bakery & Cafe I recommend hands down) while we waited. The server had an attitude and was the only person taking the orders and busing the tables (the dishes from other tables were not picked up). Yes one person managing the customers but I honestly felt she had time to pick up the dishes around other tables and ask if we needed any coffee or water. There were no other customers after us that came in. The few that did walk in were told the restaurant was closed. There was one syrup container and that my son had to ask to barrow from the other table still finishing up the meal. The potatoes on our plate seemed like they were from a frozen bag and reheated on a pan, no taste or seasoning on them. Sausages were not seasoned and no flavor to them. The pictures on the previous reviews do not compare or come close to what we were served. We scanned the menu which included typical breakfast options such as eggs, bacon, ham and sausage, breakfast sandwiches as well as omelettes. I unfortunately have a gluten allergy (celiac) and asked the server if they had gluten free toast (which they have but do not offer it on the menu). The hash-browns unfortunately are tossed in flour before deep frying (which was not listed on the menu) so I was given the alternative to have French fries (which were fried in the same oil) and I didn't necessarily want French fries for breakfast. When the food arrived my brother in laws breakfast sandwich smelt and tasted sour. It was the ham that was on the sandwich so he did not finish the sandwich. My eggs were cooked fine, but definitely at their expiration date. We are travelling from Ontario and have eaten so many amazing meals while visiting and this one did not meet the expectations that we have. Hopefully this will help the owners and staff to make the improvements they so desperately need moving forward.
