My boss wanted to treat me but since she was in Chicago, she let me pick my own destiny with a GC. Well lucky me, because Marengo was close to my location downtown and in one of my favorite buildings of all time - The Arcade! I said alrighty, let's give this spa a try! I had a deep tissue massage (express) with Brandi and I have continued to see her ever since - for longer periods now! She knows the right pressure points, makes you feel super comfortable, allows you to guide the level of conversation you do/don't want and is a genuine and easy person to be around! I'll be honest, I was a bit wary going into my first massage ever as a female in her 30s. Like have I been living under a cave? Yes. Indeed I have. For some reason I was worried it would be awkward in some way or feel forced to talk to a stranger. I don't know. Usually I had partners try to give me a massage after a long work week but it is JUST NOT THE SAME. I promise. Unless your partner is a licensed massage therapist I guess hehe. Also, five stars for the rest of the staff too. Monique, the owner, is absolutely wonderful and makes you feel at home every single time. I get my pedicure done there as well by a lovely gal and I've also had a very detailed manicure! I have yet to get my hair done but I'm considering that next! Overlooking the beautiful sights of The Arcade (especially during the holidays) is a sight to be seen while you relax and pamper yourself. They have great Valentine's Day deals too! I strongly strongly recommend Marengo! They put the Luxury in Luxury Spa for sure! :) They even have a little tea room that you can sit in and deep breathe after your massage! I don't even really like tea but there's nothing more soothing than sipping something hot while you're sitting in a comfy robe.

The plan was to get a facial and massage, but they were booked for massages the day I called so I got a facial. The place is nicely decorated & has a real calm to it I appreciated. The young ladies at the front desk were very nice e and kept a smile while getting me checked in. I was taken to the back area where I was introduced to Olga. Such a kind person. She confirmed whether or not I had ever had a facial so I knew what to expect (I've had only 1 before and this one was over the top compared to the basic one I received before). I was thrown off at first when I had to take my shirt off and get under a towel because it was a facial. It was really a facial for the face, the neck, ears, shoulders and top chest area. There was definitely a massage and amazing feels from all the oils, lotions and whatever else was used on me. The best. I've never fallen asleep during a facial or massage and this had me on the edge of bliss/slumber. I can't wait to get another one and really hope my next experience is the same as this was. Cheers!

But the experience blew me away to the extent that it will be my permanent salon for lash fills. It was fantastic all around! The space is centrally located in downtown Cleveland (West 6th). It's a gem for anyone who lives downtown or nearby. Personally, I'm traveling 20 minutes just to come here and would travel even further. The space is clean, stylish, and gives off a very calm, welcoming vibe. From the moment I walked in, the staff was friendly and made me feel comfortable, which I really appreciated. The furniture and decor at this place deserve a separate paragraph. The place is decorated with refined taste and gave me upscale country chic vibes. The bed for lash service was "contoured/curved" and so comfy. I usually toss and turn during a long service, this was a very comfortable experience. The salon is also very spacious with dedicated rooms. You don't feel constrained. The service was really good. My aesthetician inquired about my preference of lashes - classic or hybrid and also level of desired fullness. The end results were amazing, so full and great quality. I can't speak for longevity yet but I have very good feeling. We also connected very well, she was very enthusiastic, energetic, and friendly. Just can't say enough good things! The only unexpected thing for me was no lash bath, I'll ask if they do it next time. I'm using to have lash baths as part of the service. It's just a personal preference really. I found that salon's availability is great. I was able to book the next service with no problem. It works very well for my schedule. Lastly, don't be intimidated by parking. Ask the salon about a discount code for parking for designated areas or find nearby lots. There's quite a few with the closest being across the street. I would highly recommend this salon for someone looking for relaxation, refined experience, and convenience. I look forward to trying other services at this salon.

I agree with Fatmeh's review. They may have an aesthetically pleasing spa, but their customer…read moreservice is zero. The owner doesn't seem to understand how important it is to keep clients satisfied or to accommodate reasonable requests. They charge for consultations, while many other salons offer them for free or apply the fee toward your service. My appointment was denied with no explanation--possibly because I expressed that it's unfair to charge for a consultation without giving customers the option to apply the fee to their service. Regardless, neither the owner nor a manager (if there even is one) attempted to follow up with me. I emailed multiple times with no response. The only time I heard from them was after I booked online, when they denied my appointment and sent a short, dismissive email. After doing more research, I realized this place is highly overpriced for what appears to be low quality customer service . There are plenty of spas in the city that truly care about their clients--try NulQ Wellness, Docere, or The Well Westlake instead. Take your business there and get treated like a customer.

I never met anyone so unprofessional, and unwilling to accommodate a re-occurring customer in person. Her 10 min grace period was not honored per her policy on her website. Instead doors were locked at exactly 10 min after the appointment and she would not even talk to me as a customer to rearrange in person. This to me is really unprofessional and rude. Mind you I was there exactly at the time of the grace period ending on the dot. I even saw a worker walk away from the door as I was at the door. Even though mid drive, communication was there to let them know of this 10 min delay due to traffic. Mind you I was driving from an hour and a half away. This was a complimentary follow up appointment. Because of this, the owner was not as respectful as prior appointments. Why offer a complimentary follow up if you are going to treat a customer like this? Also this complimentary appointment was unable to be rescheduled as complimentary and that was not communicated when making the appointment. She is not mindful of her customer's time and does not respect them enough to even communicate with them face to face. This makes for a poor relationship between customer and client. No matter how "good" your work is. The one thing that sets you apart in this industry is your customer service. She also blocked me as her customer instead of allowing me to freely review on this platform. This is bad business save your money and time and go to any other med spa in the area. There is a reason there is only 5 star reviews on here she blocks her customers before they even can review!

If you're not already familiar with Chagrin Valley Soap & Salve, this is a wonderful little shop to come explore and get introduced to them. Chagrin Valley Soap & Salve is a local company (based in Solon) that uses pure essential oils, organic botanicals, and sustainable plant oils and butters to make the most awesome men and women's skin and haircare products. From natural deodorants to facial soaps and shampoos, I love everything they make. They also have, what seems like, dozens of flavors of everything (see my photo of the soap wall!). My favorite soap flavors are Chocolate + Honey, Sea Salt, Dead Sea Black Clay, and Honey Butter. It even seems like they have double the flavors in this store than they do on their online website. Score! Some other things I really loved about this shop: + They carry baby products and have a collaboration with Cherub's Blanket, another local retailer that makes the sweetest organic cotton baby products like blankets/bibs, etc. Or, if your dog is your baby (like me), CVSS also has dog products, which is great if your dog has sensitive skin. + Small travel/trial sizes. A nice option if you want to try products for the first time or pack something in your suitcase. + Gifts! OMG, they have the cutest pre-made gift boxes, satchels, and samplers in all sizes and price ranges, including thematic ones like "Coffee + Chocolate Lovers" and "Lavender Lovers." I'm so glad I know this here now...because it will be my new go-to gift. The shop is impeccably organized. No one will rush you if you take your time to look around and smell absolutely everything (which I recommend). It is also one of the only shops in 5th Street that is open a *little* later than the others. Woot woot! Go support local.
