I wasn't so much interested in any of the aforementioned items, but what I was most interested in was their fairly large selection of Melissa jelly shoes!! At the back of the store, they have their Melissa shoes display. If you are a size 6 and love Melissa shoes, you would have a field day. Tons of styles in size 6. I'm a size 5, and can almost never find any Melissa shoes in stores in this size, but they had a bunch of styles in size 5. Unfortunately, not any styles that I liked. Prices were pretty reasonable too, since they were all from past seasons. There were some as low as $69.99. I am so going there every time I go to Montreal from now on. Maybe one day I will find a pair of Melissa + Karl Lagerfeld Ice Cream pumps in a size 5 there (one can only dream, sigh).

That type of service is the stuff that created happy (and loyal) shoppers! This is a cute little shop on Rue Mont Royal, in the heart of the plateau, selling jewelry, cards, stickers, mugs, t-shirts, tea towels, mugs, and other fun gifts made by local artists and reasonably priced. I was so excited to finally find both of the items I was looking for, especially when I found out the reasonably priced accessories were also on promo. I started wearing the hat every day in the coldest month of winter. So, when I dropped it in the metro station and couldn't find it again, I was really upset, especially because I knew I'd bought the last one in the store. But Cuir Mont Royal saved the day! I messaged them on Instagram, and, within an hour, they'd responded that they would do everything they could to get me the same hat. Just two days later, they reached out to tell me they'd found it for me, and that they were reserving it for whenever I could come into the store. They were so kind, helpful, and attentive! Truly the kind of customer service you only find in a local business like this one. On top of it all, their selection is unmatched. I really like their designs but recently had a quality issue that wasn't resolved. I bought a ring…read moreand 5 days later a stone fell out. I contacted the store and they suggested I mail it back (I don't live in Quebec), it would be replaced, and I would be responsible for $15 shipping back to me. The ring was just over $100 + tax so with shipping ($25 to get it there and $15 back) it would have cost me about 30% of the cost of the ring to have it replaced. I completely understand it is up to me to get the ring to them, but I would have though that if a stone fell out after 5 days, they would have at least covered the shipping back. I have spent hundreds of dollars at the store and this has made me rethink future purchases as I am not confident they will stand behind the quality of their products.

I bought a pair if handmade leather shoes that i typically see for $100-150USD and paid $86 Canadian or $66 USD here. The staff was also incredibly nice and helpful even though I do not speak any French (which has been a bit of a challenge here in my experience.)
