While coming through the area with the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride one of our riders had his derailer break which flew through his spokes breaking his back wheel. It was a 17 y/o bike with old parts. We called this shop to ask for help. They immediately said bring it and we will see what we can do. We were able to drop it off around 1 o'clock that day. They called us that evening and said the bike was fixed and John delivered it to the hotel where we were staying that night free of charge. If not for them, our guy wouldn't have been able to continue on with the ride. So very appreciative that they went the extra mile to help us out! read more

We ordered a part online through their website. It had been a few days and I called to check where the part was in the process of shipping. Travis tells me that our transaction was flagged as fraud and needed to be cleared up through the website. This morning he told me not to worry the part was ours and to be patient until the website clears it. I receive and email that my order has been canceled a couple hours later. I a call Travis and he's personally cancelled the order and doesn't want to sell me the part. He said he's going to keep it locally. Who does that? read more

uuummm... ....It seems that if you're not Jeff the Cyclist (Pearls Before Swine) and bragging about your "massive derailleur" then you are ignored and dropped to the bottom of the service line. ....I stood around for 30-45 minutes while the staff yammered to the "real bikers". Finally a very flustered and apparently overworked good tech dude came out from the back and took my name and number and said someone would contact me "later". That hasn't happened yet: after 4+hours. ....Seems they want to cater to the fancy cyclists and make the big sales first. But the follow up service for previous customers maybe later when they aren't so busy.... I had a simple question that could have been asked and answered in a matter of minutes. .....We've bought plenty of high dollar bikes here over the past 20 years... .....Even though they have been in business a long time doesn't necessarily mean they have gotten better. I think this bike shop has gotten too big for their tight bike britches. Pretty disappointed. read more

Very well organized store with a wide selection on all things biking related. The shoe section has a good variety for outdoor and indoor cycling. The staff was very helpful in buying my first pair of cycle shoes and took the time to add cleats to the bottom of my shoes. read more

I was in the area and needed a new tube for my kids Cannondale. Being the Covid crap going on we stand outside. Which is fine. Guy ask if he can help us quickly, I tell him what bike it is and that I bought it here. He tells me he can't help. Couldn't look up my info on the computer. I have spent lots of money over the years with these people. NOT ANOTHER DIME!!! I PROMISE YOU THAT! Called to have my bike assembled and was quoted $65. When I brought in the bike the man that greeted me acted like he had no idea why I brought him a bike in a box. I told him that I just talked to an employee and he was going to assemble it for 65. The man said no, the price will be 75. I agreed to that. When I returned 8 days later and got ready to pay it was 110. I asked why so much and I was told that is the price??? Not very professional in my opinion, plus the bike makes noise when I ride it.... read more

I was in need of a bike tune up. Called the store to set appointment and was quoted $65 for tube up and $25 for a new rear tire. When I dropped off the bike I was told turn around was six days. Called to follow up on the fifth day and the owner could not find my bike because they never logged the bike into their repair queue. Finally after 10 minutes on the phone they found the bike and promised to get it ready by the next day. Reviewed I only wanted the tune up for $65 and tire for $25. Called the next day and the bike still wasn't ready so they rushed to complete the work on time by the end of the day. When my son picked up the bike however he got a $250 bill. They instead of the $90 bill I expected. They changed cables, added new derailers and a new saddle. This may have been ok if they would have at least called to ask if I wanted all the new parts. Service sucks, very disorganized and very misleading in how they advertise $65 tune up. read more

Customer service could've been better. I walked into the store and was the only customer. The person behind the cash register didn't acknowledge me so I just started looking for what I needed. Another person came in from the repair area and helped me. Prices are just too rich for me. I bought a component for $25 and later found it online for $17. I was having minor trouble with my ebike gears. Whenever I shifted all the way down, the chain wd go off into the wheel, and when shifting the other way, it would not go to the tallest gear at all. I did the u tube search and found a quite comprehensive explanation of what to do, but learned it required a bike repair stand. I spent a long time researching stands when I called the business and asked the cost to have it adjusted there. The price was good so I asked when and how long it we take. This was on a Wednesday. The guy I spoke to told me they'd have my bike ready by that Saturday. I loaded up the bike and dropped it off with them. My only complaint is, the bike wasn't ready until the that following Monday!! I stopped by on Saturday expecting to get my bike back and was told it wasn't ready yet. They seemed pretty nice, but in business you're supposed to promise long and deliver short, not the other way around. I rode the bike once but didn't use all gears. read more

Love my Scott MTB, Felt cross bike and the kids ride everything with confidence on their Raleigh 20" and 24" MTBs. The Raleigh kids line is getting stronger with standard options for smaller front chain rings and no shock options that help kids get started on lightweight, properly geared bikes. My husband and I have been customers of this bike shop fora few years. We travel 30 miles one way just to go here because of several reasons. First, we have bought 3 bikes from them and our family bought 2 more with our recommendation. They don't try to sell you up like a car salesman. I hate writing reviews especially bad ones. Travis is not good about calling customers back. Poor communication. I drove 2 hours to pick a bike and the bike was not ready as promised. A simple call to reschedule would have made a world of difference. After waiting for over an hour for my bike, we did not have the time to go over the bike and personally fit my bike. I had to cut the seat post myself when I got home. I shared my experiences with Travis thinking that he would care. But I truly think that they don't really care because he never called me back. I truly hope that this review provides good feedback for the owner and the staff to communicate with their customers. They are selling high-end bikes for thousands and should provide a high level of service/experience. read more

My husband went to Clemmons Bike for a repair of an inexpensive bike that was our son's at UNC. It had a simple broken brake that needed fixing. The first mistake was, they wanted $140.00 to fix a brake on a $250 bike. Talk about a business trying to get over on it's customers....this is a prime example. Secondly, and probably the MOST important aspect of this was they have the worst customer service. The first fellow that my husband talked to was rather pleasant and seemed to want to help him. Then when he was sent to the repair area of the shop, the a-hole in the back spoke to my husband like he didn't want or need his business. He told me he would have not done business with Clemmons Bike even if they offered to do it for free!!! My son got a new bike anyway in Chapel Hill and the service was excellent!!! We gladly paid $700 for a high quality bike there. WORDS TO LIVE BY"KINDNESSES COST YOU NOTHING". Too bad Clemmons Bike dose not practice this! Keep your money and go somewhere else.. read more

I always get help finding what I need, the guys in the repair shop listen to what I'm saying and then give me good advice, the repairs are done same-day (or the next, if a part has to be ordered), and they don't try to scalp me with the most expensive options or unnecessary repairs. To be a smaller store, they have a good selection of bikes and accessories and clothing and nutrition. These are local, home-grown, bicycle enthusiasts who run a good shop. read more
