One of the better Dick's as far as size and product variety/availability. This Dick's has two floors...bottom are your normal branded active wear (Nike, Adidas, UA..etc) as well as your athletic shoes and other items. The top floor is primarily your outdoor/camping gear and attire as well as team related gear. I like that this location is very big and a lot more to explore, but as big as the store is and with the amount of employees there, service was nonexistent. read more

The worst place to go to get shoes. I went and I was gonna get hightop Nikes and they showed me these ugly used returned shoes. Then I ordered online for the same shoe. That shoe arrived today and they were horrible, they had dirty laces, creased, just a dirty and used shoe overall. read more

This was an awesome store. I went in to grab a couple things before a soccer game and was pleasantly surprised. The store is huge, and has an incredible inventory. They carry a ton of items most Dick's Sporting Goods doesn't just because of the size of the store. It laid out like most of its kind, and easy to navigate. The staff were polite and friendly, though I don't recall seeing too many of them. When I was in there literally everything was on sale --and it wasn't going out of business. The prices were fantastic. The store can't be seen from the street and is buried in a corner of the plaza. It can be a pain to get in and out and traffic in the area can be busy --don't go they're with the expectation of a quick pickup. Overall great spot, though. read more

Their prices are way to high when compared to other online stores, especially the big "you know who" online store. I went in last week and compared their prices with online prices and every item was higher then the online store. I do not see a reason for paying more at a store than buying online, especially for sporting good products that do not need to be seen/tried out in person first. read more

I have never been a real fan of Dicks based on their inflated prices, lack of knowledgable staff and location. Today reminded me of my distaste and provided another reason to avoid this place. We came here to purchase a bike for my 12 year old daughter. I prefer to buy bikes at bike shops but because my daughter would probably throw it on the ground, leave it outside and other countless torture techniques including water boarding I figured one more less expensive bike would do for now. So we headed to Dicks after test riding a few at Target. After a rest ride we were approached by an employee telling us that we were not allowed to test ride the bike. I asked how are we to know how the bike fits and his response was "you can stand next to it". Now I can say a whole lot on this ignorance response but I have many better things to do. He further explained that I could sue him if we were to wreck the bike. Again, there is much I can say about this but will hold off as well. I did notice he went on to say something about the assembly of the bikes can also an issue but he stopped himself. I do not know how many people come here to buy a several hundred dollar bike with riding it first but please reach out to me to allow me to sell you ocean front proper in Wyoming for a great deal. I normally am not a Christmas Eve shopper, I feel bad for everyone who has to work (including myself in past years) and try and make it one less person in stores. However- my amazing husband's big gift fell through, and I needed something to supplement. I know nothing about most of what this store carries, but I knew when I saw that Punching bag set I HAD to get it. Took the kids I babysit here to pick out their Christmas gifts. They wanted ski masks so we set out for an adventure. Thankfully we escaped the holiday crowd and had an easy time getting in and out of the mall scene. Dicks is conveniently located across from Hanes mall and near a lighted exit that can take you right to I-40 and Stratford rd. If you haven't been to dicks keep in mind it's HUGE and very bright. At the same time it's very organized with clear signage as to what's where. In dicks golf area they have a putting green. I imagine it's for serious golfers to find their favorite putter. However, when we went by there was no one using it so the kids played a little game of putt putt. There was an employee nearby and he would put the balls back on the green if they rolled off, but other than that he let us do our thing. Eventually a serious buyer came over so we moved along. We got our items and made our way to the register. I couldn't believe we didn't have to wait! And the very nice and smiling cashier gave us a coupon that saved us $4 :). Yay, I love saving money. Parking lot was easy to get in and out. Whew. read more

Went in to buy some sun glasses. Stood at the counter for close to 10 minutes and not one employee came to assists. As a matter of fact there was only one person on the register and there were 3 in the shoe area. One was helping a costumer and the other two were just standing there talking. I get so frustrated at Dick's because so many of their items DON'T have prices on them. We looked at men's shoes today and NO prices on the boxes and shoes weren't in the area that ( if they had a price on the shelf ) if there was a price it was the wrong shoe in the spot. I spoke with a manager who seemed like he was working on checking sale prices. I explained NONE of the shoe boxes had prices. He never offered an apology or a reason why there were no marked prices. Since Gander Mt. is going out of business in Winston Salem NC I wonder how much worse Dicks can get. read more

Not a big fan of Dick's or Sports Unlimited or any other oversized sports outfitter. I'd rather spend my money at a local Golf USA or pro shop but I was pleasantly surprised last weekend. I found a pair of ORANGE Saucony running shoes ten years ago at my local sports store. Best pair of shoes ever. And I'm convinced it was because they were orange. Ive searched since (yes Zappos) and nada. Well Dicks has a pair, not the same style, but ORANGE. 129.99. NOPE. This week they were on sale for 69.99. On my feet now, at work, on the bike, in bed. I'm not a fan of these big box stores to begin with, but I badly needed to pick up some swimwear for my son today as I forgot to bring it for camp. First of all, it took twenty minutes before I was able to find someone to help me, despite the store being almost empty of customers. When I finally did find someone, they couldn't help me because they were not carrying kids swimwear. At all. Not a single pair of swimming trunks for a six year old. Awful customer service. I went in to get a sackpack. Was sent by 2 different associates to 2different places, and a 3rd associate was just clueless and didn't even try. First guy told me to go upstairs..WRONG. Second one told me to go back downstairs near the bathrooms..WRONG. Third person literally said "I don't know"....huh??? Who does that???!!! I guess the workers of Dicks's do that. After walking around aimlessly for 10 minutes I found them myself, but discovered that the one listed on line as "available in store" did not exist....again HUH???? Never going back here. Went to this store to purchase a pair of tennis shoes. Asked the employee if they have my size. The employee went to the back of the store and I did not see him anymore. Okay so they don't have any women's softball cleats at all. They never even offered to order them. I suggested getting mens cleats and of course they tried to say that a women's 8.5 is a mens 6. And they don't make a 6 in mens. I Looked up the size difference and a women's 8.5 should be a mens 6.5-7(depending on what website you use) but still they said they don't carry small mens sizes. So I said well what about youth sizes. And with out looking they said they did not have any. So I said to them... So your telling me I have a shoe size you don't carry in mens, women's or youth.... And the staff member just stood there. I will never be back to another Dick's Sporting goods store... I can tell other customers were very aggravated with the staff as well. read more

After a horrible customer service experience at Gander Mtn. I drove over here to Dicks.. Its close to Christmas and they were very busy but as I stood at the gun counter an associate asked me if I needed help. I was shocked. (See Gander Mtn review) I explained the make and model of what I was looking for and the sales associate immediately went in the back to retrieve the rifle I wanted. He brought it out and I purchased it. Although I find I am more apt to post a flaming review when I get crappy customer service.. I decided to post a good one for this store. It may have just been this salesperson or the fact that I was wary from a previous experience but this particular store did it right in my opinion. read more
