I love coming to this location. You never know what treasure you will find. The staff are friendly and very helpful too. The prices can be pretty good too but yes some can be out of reach too. You can always look at the price tag and just come back and the price will be lower and adorable. They have a wide section from antiques to modern stuff. I used to work here. It used to be a very fun place! Now it looks like a junk store! The quality of their consignments has really gone downhill . I have tried to take some very high quality items, like Baldwin sconces, and the very rude employee said they don't take brass. They don't seem to recognize good quality anymore, so I will now donate everything to Salvation Army . I will not go back to deal with their rude employees. read more

This place is Awesome! It's like a consignment warehouse. You can find almost anything you need for the house or interior decorating project. Lots of unique pieces to style a room. I like that there is a price drop the longer the item has been at the store, thus it helps to look at the tag and see if the item has been discounted yet. Fun place to browse! If I was local, I would love to, come here regularly when looking for random or unique pieces/items. This is a place I hope to visit again the next time I'm in town. read more

Wow. I thought I was the only one with rude employee interactions here until I signed up for Yelp and was browsing around to look at places and feel so vindicated. I never knew it I was overreacting or not, but the three times I have been here over the past three years, there has always been some weird employee interaction. Rude woman up front, unhelpful as well as loud, rude, yelling in the store at you to move, and just awful. Last time, I was walking through the store and the employee walks right next to me and my ear and YELLS for the other employee. No awareness. They all lack basic customer service skills of being just friendly, handling people, and following through with policies. No need to be super rude to people coming in and trust me, I am as snobby as an art historian antiquer is, but the women up front and the employees need training desperately. read more

This is just a great place to find anything you might be looking for, but you do have to go on a regular basis because their inventory changes quickly. We have bought things here and we have consigned things here over the years. You never know what you're going to find and obviously somethings are more more than others. Sheila will be the destruction of this location. We came in 10-15 minutes before closing and was working quickly to locate and purchase our items. The time was 5:27pm when the establishment closes at 5:30. Sheila, who may or may not be the manager (I hope not), was rude and standoffish when asked about why the lights were turned off before closing time. Her snide remarks and grotesque attitude AND, frankly, racist taunting has destroyed my opinion of THIS red collection. However, the sister store, on S Holden Road, has EXCELLENT customer service. The workers, all of them, were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the items we were purchasing. No lights were turned off while we were viewing items and I left with my things and a smile. If you prefer a plentiful and glamorous shopping experience, do not visit this location. The bright side: This location has an impeccable collection. It is sickening to think that I will never be able to view it on my own. My partners will have to purchase for us. Something should be done. read more

This business is completely unprofessional. When I called to let them know I had an item to sell that was purchased at red collection prior ( it was my mom's who just passed away ), they didn't say anything about 'sorry for your loss'. They acted very rushed and said I needed to bring a picture over of the couch to show them and see if they would accept it . I did bring a picture over and showed to Tom in the back, who asked the manager if they would accept the couch. The manager said that they would accept it. So I was given a number for someone who could bring the couch to them for me, that I had to pay ,$75. They took it to the store the very next morning , but by then the manager changed her mind and said we have too many couches, we won't take it. She had never called me to say she didn't need it anymore and was totally ruthless in how she didn't care that I just spent 75 dollars and was minus a couch! DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS SHADY CUT THROAT OUTFIT! They don't communicate well to say the Least, and don't even communicate well with each other. Tom said the couch was in good condition, movers said same, and I know it was. The manager lied when she said she would accept it. I will do my best to tell as many people as possible what unprofessional, unfriendly, tactless and rude liars they are. Unbelievable! Just imagine if I had sent more items to them, and had to pay more just to have an agreement/ promise broken. If I was allowed to use more choice words about the manager ( first initial of first name 'J' but should start with a 'B'), I would. SO I found about Red Collection through a friend of my mom's and was looking for antique/ older solid wood furniture for my new home. Anyways, did I just buy an antique dresser, a dining room table, a fancy two seater sofa, a coffee table, and a decorative table for under 2 GRAND?! Seriously, the prices are amazing and the if you've got the time to look through what they have you'll find some great treasures. Delivery is overall very easy and not expensive at all if you're in the local area. The reception area is pretty straight through and the place is decorated as a "suggestion" with decorating and set up. Then it is also divided by sections, the back area of the location has mostly coffee tables, bed sets, and regular dressers. Even if you're not really looking for anything RC lets your wildest pinterest inspiration come true. read more

I've never had a bad experience with customer service here. If you go during the weekend it can be really busy, same as other businesses in the area. I've been able to find nice and affordable couches, dining room tables, and loads of other items here. When I had furniture delivered the staff were very nice and asked where I'd like it set. read more

I drove 40 minutes to come to this store and when we showed up, a sign was posted on the door that they were closing at 4pm vs the normal time, so we had only about 8 mins. We made note of the time and realized to be out by 4 but as soon as we walk in a woman with brown hair coming down to her shoulders made a very snarky comment. "Okay folks, you are going to have to make it quick we close at 4." It was very unprofessional, rude, and uncalled for. I have a watch and have the ability to tell time and had no intention of staying past closing. Now I have no intention of ever returning to this store. You can tell when someone is being smart and she definitely was. It's a shame a middle aged woman acts like that. If she is the manager of the store or owner she needs to re-evaluate how to do business and treat customers if this business is to survive. I recently moved so I went to both Red Collection locations to find furniture. I'm a college student with an invisible chronic illness. The Red Collection on S Holden Rd was great. My roommate asked them for a wheelchair and the staff was very friendly and accommodating, no questions asked. Nothing but good vibes there. However, when I went to the location on Mill St, they were not accommodating whatsoever. My mom asked for a wheelchair and they immediately said no. They then proceeded to gossip to each other about how you can't have wheelchairs because of "narrow" areas. This location actually had wider areas than the Holden store, and we got through that whole store with a wheelchair. It's one thing to not be able to accommodate the disabled, but it's not okay to speak to each other rudely behind our backs. Not to mention there were at least 3 employees at the register standing around, only helping one person, and no employees to be found on the floor to help customers. The feeling the employees gave us made us not want to buy anything in there, even though there were items we liked. Will definitely be back to the Holden location but very slim chance I'll be returning to the Mill St location. read more

Lovely store with a lot of inventory, eclectic, vintage, (although extremely expensive , considering "vintage" is just another word for "used". If you are shopping for a sofa, take $1500 ...at least...with you) if that's your passion, you will love this store. I could browse for hours. I have only been to the Mill St location, and I plan to visit the Holden Rd location as well. However...If you are looking for smiles, greetings, friendly faces and staff members anxious to help you.....you have come to the wrong place. Walk in Macy's, any furniture space at the High Point furniture market, Furnitureland South, or one of a thousand more "vintage" consignment stores in our area, or even the Goodwill Store. You will get a "Welcome to the Goodwill store!".....at the very least. Even the young men moving the furniture around seem to be bothered by the customers' presence. Advice to owners.....you are one of a thousand shops in the area. Believe it or not, you actually DO have competition. You have very nice things, mind you, but a little friendliness and personality would go a long way in boosting your sales. Also, you have customers other than the elite of Greensboro. Try pricing your pieces as though you'd like to market them to a wider community, or encourage your clients in that detail. read more

I write this review specifically for those people who fuss about not getting the hawkish attention from a bully salesman in suit and tie from big stores that sell new furniture at multiple thousands dollars (literally $5,600 verified today for a kitchen table with chairs). You people need to rethink your reviews. I am more than happy to go to a consignment store where the prices respect the customer and nobody chases you like a shark the minute you pass the entrance door. My experience at the red collection has always been excellent customer service they don't stand in the way of your exploration yet have always been extremely helpful and efficient when asked. Also i understand that they have to turn a profit with reasonable prices and when there are many customers they may be busy I completely understands that. Those reviewers who want to be chaperoned or hawkishly trailed through the store need to shop at the big furniture store, and they will get the attention they crave together with a multiple thousands price tag on a single piece of furniture ! read more

I recently consigned 3 lamps with Red Collection. When I consigned them, they told me that after the arranged period for showing that I would need to pick up the items that didn't sell. 2 of the lamps sold. Went in to pick up the other one that didn't sell (an antique) and was told by the staff to go find it. My husband and I looked the store over twice and couldn't find it. Asked the staff and they went and looked and couldn't find it. They put a picture on there bulletin board and said they would have designers look and would call us if they found it. This is a very poor business practice. They have no idea where anything is in the store. I would not recommend consigning anything of value here. You may never get it back if it doesn't sell. Just a warning. Very disappointing to me. I have bought items in there previously. read more

Would not give any credit or concession, only that I could pay a second time for the other half - I don't think so. Have been a customer for quite some time and purchased many items. Red Collection has been a go-to resource for me in the past. After a recent visit though I found nothing I would buy mostly because prices were very high and many items very dated. A small white unicorn lamp I would have purchased for my granddaughter was $70 and nothing special. A couple of young employees moving items around even commented to their employer that a lot of items should be moved out bc they were dated. I will check back from time to time and hopefully them more affordable. read more

Well it's a pretty good store with a good selection of consignment furniture. They have a back room selection with discounted items. The truth is if you're a consignment store shopper making offers on an item is common practice. This store doesn't do that and because most everything is over priced, a good deal is hard to come by. Was shopping at The Red Collection today 4/15/22 and was on my way to check out with my finds in hand. The lady that works there saw what I had in my hand and immediately jerked it out of my hands and took the price tag off and informed me that it was priced wrong. I insisted that they would have to see it to me for what the tag said. She went to speak with the owner, and she was rude beyond belief. I informed the lady that I was paying exactly what they had on the price tag. I will definitely be informing other interior designers I know that shop there of my experience. This is The Red Collection's second location. This location is larger than the store on Holden. I love to walk around this store. You just never know what treasures you may find. The pieces in the store are nicely arranged. As you are walking up and down the aisles, it's like you are walking by little rooms. Every so often, the staff move the pieces around the store to make the store feel and look new and fresh. And, they do a great job making it feel this way. I have consigned many pieces at this and the other location. These stores get a lot of traffic so chances are your item will sell pretty quickly. I like to consign here because they price your item to sell so it won't just sit there in the store. They want to make money, just like you do. If you have a lot or larger pieces, they can come to your house, for a fee. When you start consigning with them, they will assign you a number and ask you to sign a contract. Checks are cut every month, I believe around the 10th. If you are in the market and on the hunt for some unique pieces, Red Collection is for you. read more

My first visit was years ago. I think someone told me about it and I just had to go. Found the most wonderful retro, floral curtains for my then bedroom. Not sure how long until my next visit but it was quite some time. I went with my mom then and then we was also told about the second location and we just haddddd to see that one too. My absolute favorite!! You have to come various times, they are always getting new stuff. I've found some of my favorite vintage furniture here in such great shape. There are expensive items but you can also find a deal if you keep your eyes open. My favorite love seat (tuffed cushion), white classic dish set (microwave and oven safe) and accent walls frames are from Red Collection! Highly recommend. Staff are helpful too! We've visited both Red Collection locations, and both have their plus and minuses. On the plus side, they variety of pieces you can find here is pretty extensive. From mid-century modern, to traditional, contemporary to urban, they have a little bit of everything. However, the price points can be rather high (dependent on the consignor). We stumbled on a metal glider that was so rusted out that it was beyond repair, and it still carried a $200 price tag. You can, however come across some good scores if you keep your eyes open and check back often. read more

Just bought a great dining room table with 8 chairs. I am very impressed with the quality and prices. The table and chairs were delivered the next day by 2 very nice young men. I bought another piece at another consignment furniture store and the delivery men were surly and did not even seem to appreciate the tip. My first experience at this store in quite a while as a consignor: I arrived soon after opening today (a Tuesday morning) and encountered a very chilly reception at the front counter when I inquired about setting up an account, not remembering that I'd consigned items several years ago and had an account. The young girl who "helped" me gave me the impression that my request to open an account was an aggravation although it does seem like a necessary part of the consignment business! She became snippy when her computer revealed that I already had an account. I politely asked that she make sure the phone number was updated to the one I provided on today's registration form. More bad vibes. The other woman also working behind the counter and aware of our conversation would not make eye contact with me and did nothing to brighten the mood. I selected a small end table, took the ticket to the cashier, and was told that I could continue shopping. When I returned to pay for the table, I discovered that they had sold it to someone else. When I complained to the guy who had sold it out from under me, his response was essentially tough luck. I have spent a lot of money in this store in the past. No more! Too many of the people who work here have no interest or respect for their customers. I would strongly advise you to look elsewhere if you want to buy used furniture. The Mill Street employees have horrible attitudes and it starts at the top with it's management. As a business owner myself, I know that the customers are the reason I stay in business. This location needs to learn people skills quick or they will find their doors closed. People at the top should mentor their employees by their own actions! Also their prices have gone way too high. Why would I pay more for an item than I can get online for much less including shipping??? I have spent a lot of money at both locations over the past several years.
