Love this thrift store! Definitely some of the best thrift prices in the area and the product is constantly rotating from what I have seen. I came in to grab some linens and sheets to use as sewing fabric and I am glad I did! The workers are friendly enough and it is usually pretty clean and organized inside the store. Employee!!! I relocated to this area, had a lot to donate. I first had a question the woman that I figured worked there was busy eating behind the counter, looked at me as if I just interrupted her breakfast. I just retired from a full CUSTOMER SERVICE position after 29 years. I would not dare to treat people the way that woman approached me. It was traumatic enough that I had to donate over $500.00 worth of handbags. I can't speak to value nor selection. I guess I wasn't the right hue for her. NEVER WILL DONATE TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!!! Carolina Thrift is located at the back of Harbor Freight in a large but dark and dingy warehouse space. I have only really shopped their clothing, shoes, and housewares, so I can't comment on the furniture. They price their items individually, which is both a blessing and a curse for your wallet. You can usually find tank tops for $1.99-3.99, unlike the blanket price of $4.49 for all tops like at Goodwill. However, this thrift store will also massively up charge for any items that still have their tags on them- expect prices of $9.99-16.99, even if the original sale price of the item was only $25. At the same time, they often have sales (my understanding is that clothes are 50% off on Mondays) so there are absolutely deals to be found. read more

We've been searching for end tables in various thrift stores over the past few weeks, and this is one of the creepiest stores we've been in. Its a very large warehouse space and so dark and quiet that its not a fun place to shop. The staff were not all that friendly or helpful, and there are signs allover the place that assume you are going to shoplift or damage something. Prices seemed pretty high compared to Good Will and Salvation Army. One plus is their furniture section - it fairly large. Also, they have sales - on June 30th everything in the store is 50% off. If management made this a friendlier, livelier place it could be one of the best stores in the area. read more

This is absolutely ridiculous! My son paid for several pieces of furniture and delivery. After waiting several days, the guy waits till he's here and my son's at work to call him and inform him that they only being the items to the door, and I'm home alone, disabled, so the moron sons everything in my driveway, RIGHT BEHIND MY VEHICLE, gets into the truck and leaves, when he's seen that I've opened the door and am waiting for him to move the stuff. So, now I'm stuck at home instead of going grocery shopping, or getting my son from work. Gee, thanks, folks! read more

Yes I am a fan! If you want to be waited on, then got to the mall. With no less than 8 floor workers and almost 10,000 square feet of floor space, the staff is friendly, if overworked. Do the math. There are carts. Remember that much of the items are donated. There is a unique way of displaying: lots of clothes on racks, and items displayed on the rack tops. including many strange pieces of art, plenty of glassware and kitchen items along the walls. They even display sets of dishes (none complete), and if you take your time you will find rotating monthly discounts on MONDAYS for different groups of items (clothes and shoes, kitchenware, etc.). I have found: a computer (Dell) and monitors (HP and Dell) a food processor Tilia Food Saver vacuum containers kitchen storage bins, and flatware coats, pants, shirts, and hats I even found some disc golf (frisbee) accessories! Furniture is random (office type) and clearly used. All-in-all it is not 'storefront', yet the bargains make the hunt worthwhile. read more

I have instincts to go here --- every time I want something or someone one says "I'm looking for....." I go here - and they always have it! It is amazing all of the furniture I have brought home in my little car! At first the ladies up front are not friendly - but if you go in and say "good morning/afternoon" they come around. They know me now! The guys that work there are always so nice to load up my car! I buy anything from vases to night stands and book shelves! I love this thrift store. Everything has a colored tag and when you walk in the store there is a sign that says 'yellow/red/orange what ever color is 50% off that day' or whatever ... So easy to shop. Oh -- and when you call the always tell you what color is on special!! read more

The staff was rude. I said hello when I walked in and she just looked at me. Sign on the way in said no photos inside , and signs all over the place. It was dark in the store and while it was big ~prices on wood items were high for a dirty thrift store. It smelled so I didn't even look at the clothes. I won't go back. read more

This place is a hit or miss. It is a large, dark, dirty warehouse. There are signs plastered EVERYWHERE with rules, rules, rules... no photos inside the store, put hangers here not there, etc. I have never read all of the signs; it would take up too much time. The staff is rarely friendly and can be pretty rude. HOWEVER, there are plenty of great finds in this store and I find their prices to be much better than other local thrift prices (the Salvation Army especially). If you like the digging type of thrifting, don't expect much from staff, and avoid the bathroom at all costs (it needs a huge face lift, much like the rest of the store) you can find some great stuff here. read more

This place is huge. They have a sale every day. However, the prices are sky high. Many of the used books are $6+. The people who work here are unbelievably rude. The place is filthy and dark. If you arrange for pick up of a donation, you better be home to supervise or they will make a mess of your property as they sort the stuff where you leave it and throw around things they do not want such as fabric and certain books. What they really want is clothing. Anything else they will go through like this, showing no respect for your property.. These places need to realize that there are always other places to go where they will value your patronage. read more

I overall usually love this store. However today I went into the store and I was about to checkout. I was standing close to a rack where they hang clothes on that people put back and An older woman came by and yelled "excuse me, excuse me" and I didn't know she was talking to me because she didn't make eye contact or tap me to let me know. Instead she ran over my food and left with the carts. I was wearing flip flops and those metal racks felt terrible rolling over bare skin on my feet. I ended up getting the woman's name. I don't feel it's right giving the store as a whole a bad review If only one worker ruined my expirence. The woman who ran over my foot her name was Sheryl. When I pointed the lady out another worker didn't seem surprised it was her who did it. I hope the store takes necessary action to make sure this doesn't happen again. Once again I love carolina thrift but that was not the right thing to do to a customer as an employee. read more
