Book my granddaughter loved!
Renee H.

This was my first visit to the TROSA Thrift Store. I was surprised at the expansive size! From what I'm told, the one in Durham is much much bigger even still. I was expecting a huge collection of clothes, some books and such. In addition, they have lots of home/bedroom furniture, electronics, office furniture and basically everything you'd need to fill a home. What I love about TROSA is that they will help the men that go through their program to get back on their feet. They can live in one of their apartments and pay minimal rent for up to a year, while they save money to get into their own place. Once they do obtain their own place, TROSA will help them furnish it! Such a wonderful way to set them up for success. I found a super cute book for my granddaughter and a mug that I loved. I was really only going to drop something off but wanted to browse and see what they had. Glad I did. I'll be bringing my thrift loving mom and sister back! They also love to support stores that are helping men and women to break free from the chains of addiction, as I am 10 years in recovery myself. Thankful for TROSA being a part of the Winston Salem community! Travis, the gentleman that helped me check out was very polite and professional.

Huge store and vast selection! The employees there are by far some of the friendliest folks I've ever met in a second hand store

I joined YMCA for the first time, and I'm liking it!…read more This one is located right next to Hanes Park with lots of room for parking and outdoor activities. The parking lot is almost always full, but I don't know where all those people go. The place is very compartmentalized, so that you don't feel overwhelmed or crowded. I like to run on the treadmill, and at my old gym, I had no choice but to watch people doing leg workouts and hear incessant thumping of basketball/squash players. None of that here. The staff is super friendly... you know how when you go to Costco or a yoga community, everyone is super nice and it kind of freaks you out? Similar deal here. (Maybe it's WS in general.. either way, the YMCA staff members are friendly by any standards). Other highlights: -A ton of group fitness classes -Indoor track and pool -Monthly fitness challenges (with prizes!) -Cardio machines with TVs, blood pressure machine -Free towel rental -Not too crowded -Discounts for students and low-income families Obesity is now considered a disease-- go fight/prevent it!

The open swim hours are great and it's a nice facility overall. Kind of more expensive than I expected for a Y but it's a good facility overall. The staff is nice and friendly. I used a couple guest passes here but I think they limit you so that's a little disappointing. Can't beat this location though! @azfitfoodfun
