Amazing family stop! We smelled the BBQ as we drove past and had to stop. We shared BBQ sandwiches and browsed the produce and lovely store. The owner is an amazing guy. We told him that we loved his home made mustard and he came out to the picnic benches and shared the story behind the recipe. It turns out our grandmother has nearly the exact same recipe! He gave us mustard powder and told us to enjoy some family time tonight making mustard! His dog was super friendly and loved being petted. There is a good size garden/farm on the property that makes for great photos. This is definitely a must stop along the way to wherever you are heading! read more

If you are coming back from Kirkwood via Highway 88, make sure you stop by this place on your way back to the Bay Area. I highly recommend their tri-tip sandwiches (so satisfying after a day on the slopes) and amazing berry pies! There is also a good selection of jams, produce, nuts, oils, etc. I've done the [free] wine tasting too and the wines are very good. The place is family-run and they are very nice, friendly people. Their Golden retriever is so adorable too. read more

My family and I have been making thirty minute trips (from Stockton) to Clements Ridge for about nine years now just to purchase jars of fruit preserves and boxes of their fresh fruit pies. The quality and freshness of their produce can be tasted from these items. It can't get any fresher because they use produce they have grown and harvested in their farm to make their baked goods and preserves. We are such big fans of their pies that my family and I are always hesitant to purchase our pies from anywhere else. They are simply delicious! When you take a bite you are greeted with a buttery, flaky pie crust and a warm, juicy fruit filling. The boysenberry is amazing because of the contrast in texture and taste; sweet with a bit of tartness and a crunch from the seeds. The strawberry, peach, pear, and banana cream pie are also a must try. read more

Clements Ridge is a great place to stop for supplies -- produce, snacks and a drink -- en route to the Sierras (if you're going via 88/89). Spacious with picnic table (and a dog, if you are lucky) out front - they also have a sandwich shop (not vegan friendly). Big parking lot and super easy to spot when you turn north on 88. Friendly service and reasonable prices. read more

The food was excellent today! the clerk was busy on the phone airing out the days before work that wasn't done including bad transactions with money. not good! read more

This is a "must stop" when you're in the area for a meal or just a snack you can't go wrong! Fun friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices. Stock up while you're there cause I guarntee you will regret it when you get home if you don't! read more

My friend took me here after a day of skiing at Kirkwood. It's a farm, produce stand, bakery, deli and winery in one. I tried their chicken tamale - about average, but it may have to do with me eating it the next day after heating in microwave. Chicken pot pie - I love chicken pot pies! Their version comes with large chunks of chicken breast meat. The crust is perfect, flavors very good. I like it a lot, but it takes some taking used to with all that meat. Fresh strawberry pie - had a slice of it. They use real whipping cream (as opposed to whipping cream from a can). Strawberries appear to be fresh without added sugar so it ends up being kind of not quite sweet enough (I have a sweet tooth) and a bit too much moisture. Yes, I know it's not the goop from a bucket kind of strawberry pies we're used to. Again, I would definitely get it again. These guys know how to make a great pie crust. read more

Great trip-tip sandwiches and good service! This is a cute little place that's definitely worth visiting.

We stopped by here to grab a quick lunch before heading over to Markleeville, for the Death Ride. My friend ordered a sandwich which was ok. They offered three different pot pies, which I picked up the Chicken version. It was ok as well. KFC still tasted better though. I have to give them props for being a small business that caters to the many travelers in the area. read more

We were hungry. C was getting low blood sugar grumpy. We were going to have to stop somewhere before getting up to Gold Country from the Bay Area. We stumbled upon Clements Ridge. Jackpot! Sweet and savory pies. Sandwiches. Fresh produce. Pickled produce. Barbeque tri-tip sandwiches (sometimes). Great service from this family owned and run business. Highly recommended. We'll be back! read more

This place was terrible.. we ordered 2 tri tip sandwiches and immediately asked for our refund back. Service was very slow, bread was stale and the "tri-tip" was more like pulled pork. I took one bite of my sandwich and it tasted like a tuna fish sandwich read more

Unfortunately my first time here was not what I was hoping for. I love me a good tri tip sandwich. I'm not one to complain, but my sandwich had hard tough bread, very hard to sink your teath. (Had to wiggle my jaw back and forth to pry it off) cold-ish meat, unmelted cheese and refrigerated cold bbq sauce. I debated on whether to ask them to warm it up but just thinking about the fact that the sandwich was given to the customer in the condition that it was made me irate at this point, soo I did ask them to warm it up if possible and they were nice so no issue there. Maybe they should have offered to make a completely different one instead of asking if I wanted the bread to be warmed up with the insides? Idk, I just said use your best judgement (I'm no cook). So, the positives are, good amount of meat and great tasting bbq sauce. Also, nice response from the cook. No attitude given (which shouldn't happen at all from any place) Cons are as stated above regarding the whole sandwich : hard tough bread, very hard to sink your teath into to rip (Had to wiggle my jaw back and forth to pry it off) cold-ish meat, unmelted cheese and refrigerated cold bbq sauce. Hope this helps anyone. Thanks for reading! read more

I was heading back from Kirkwood early and was enticed by the huge Tri Tip Sandwiches sign, so decided to give it a shot. The sandwich was $8.95 and you can select your choice of bread, toppings, and condiments. It was a good cold sando, perfect for lunch, but don't expect a hot trip tip sandwich. All the ingredients were fresh, including the bread and the veggies, and the horseradish mustard made the sandwich. They had tons of savory and sweet pies, baked goods including a decadent looking bread pudding, as well as honey, jams, giant bags of frozen fruit, and a wide selection of dried fruit (including dried kiwi and cantoloupe!) And as a bonus: the employees were warm and friendly to all the customers, which makes you even happier to support a local business! read more

We stopped for a tritip sandwich. It was overpriced and so dry we were literally choking it down. The meat was dry and had no flavor and the amount of condiments they put on were negligent. Don't waste yoir money. read more

Delicious housemade vegetarian lasagna and yummy sandwiches. Worth a detour! Plus local honey and farm produce.

From the moment we walked in the staff made us feel welcomed. They made my grumpy little sister smile (which is hard since she's a teenager). This was our first time stopping there and it won't be the last. We will make sure to make time our next way up this way to stop there. Their pastries and chicken pot are delicious as well. I would recommend to stop here for sure. read more

I've stopped here a dozen times before heading over the mountain for the the holidays. It's always a great reliable pit stop for lunch or a snack. I always leave with a fresh pie or a cornucopia of fruits and veggies. The people here make the difference. Very nice and friendly. Every one of them. A few years back I think around Easter time I had every worker in the store helping out creating a gift basket from scratch. They used a basket that wasn't even for sale, filled it with goodies and wrapped it all up into a beautiful display! They must have spent 20 minutes helping me and making it the best as they could. Real service from the heart. I'll never forget this place for that great service and how happy they made my mother with that unique basket! Also for the awesome tri tip sandwich I just ate while writing this!! Thanks Clements!! read more

Finally stopped in yesterday after driving by for 2 years. Bought 2 tasteless sandwiches and a peach pie. Cut into the pie last night and a flood of white, uncooked flour came pouring out. Tasted it, but could not eat it. Got my receipt and discovered I had paid for 2 pies! Normally I would have thrown out the bad pie and moved on. But definitely not going to pay over $35 for 2 pies I couldn't eat. Was told I could get a refund on the pie I didn't get, but the clerk or manager or whatever he is tried to convince me there was nothing wrong with the original pie. My only option was to get another pie. REALLY bad customer service! Won't ever go back! read more

Cute little "Country Store". Everything you need on a road trip to Arnold from Sacramento :). Picked up lunch, snacks, and some frozen pies. Had the tri-tip sandwich which was delicious. Picked up a frozen apple pie for Thanksgiving which warmed up very nicely an was delicious. Disappointed I did not get to try their "famous" chicken pot pies, OR all their other pies. Everyone in the store was very friendly and helpful. Even "Walker" and "Cholo" were nice (the dogs). read more

Walked in on a Wednesday at 11am. I was the only one in the store. This was my first visit, so I was taking my time perusing what looked to be a nice selection. A male employee walked out of the back, made eye contact with me and ignored me and about a minute later a female came out, made eye contact with me and ignored me. I spent about another five minutes in the shop walking around while they talked amongst themselves completely ignoring me. Selection is great, customer service, not so much. read more

So happy we stopped off here on our way back from the gold country. Clements is a somewhat nondescript building although they do sometimes have signs out by the road. Next time we are up this way I will remember to bring a cooler to bring back all my goodies! We bought fresh local peaches, strawberries, cherries, blackberries, blueberries and corn! They are known for their pies and tri-tip. We bought a few fruit pies to take home for July 4th and one pot pie each from the deli to eat outside on the picnic tables in front of the store. We got there late so could not get any tri-tip sandwiches. Before we left we loaded up our one bag we brought with us with frozen pot pies to take home! Walker is the resident pooch who is extremely loving and wise. Give home a quick scratch/pet if you see him. Tip - you can call ahead your deli order so everything is ready when you get there or, if like us, you are cutting it close to the deli closing time. read more

Great spot! Fantastic sandwiches, and the pastries are absolutely delicious! Looking forward to trying their pies next time...

I've only purchased the pies, but next time will have to make a point to purchase a tri-tip sandwich on the way up! Depending on the season, the fillings can range from outstanding to good. Go with something in-season and you'll be rewarded with a nice fruity filling and a crisp, snappy crust. Peach is one of the ones I think they do best Their all fruit is reliable Just purchased a blueberry sour cream pie and was rewarded with the most amazing blueberry pie! Sweet, sour blueberries in a tangy sour cream filling. Wonderful balance. Going to kitchen to snare a bite...... read more

I normally stop by a few times a year when on my way to see my Aunt. This time was no different except for the quality of the food I purchased. I bought a couple of pot pies and sandwiches to take for lunch with my Aunt. Well, I got the chili cheese pot pie as it was delicious last time. This time not so much. The crust was a bit hard and completely dry inside. Yuck! The beans even looked burned. I did not want to stop and complain on my way back as the cashier seemed to be in a bad mood that day. Not what I expected at all :( read more

Great selection of jams, oils, spreads, mustard, frog balls, etc... We had lunch, which consisted of the tri tip sandwich, and chicken pot pie, and a piece of the berry pie. The tri tip could've used more meat, it was mostly bread. The pot pie was pretty good, i'd order that again. The berry pie was a let down. We broke through the crust, and there were chunks of what seemed like flour, sugar, and berry juice. It was pastey and chalky. Meh. I didn't finish it, and that's very rare. We did bring home some mustard and frog balls, which you can't go wrong with. read more

I have been driving by this place once a month for a year and finally they were open and I thought the Spring time selection should be good. Local cherries advertised $3+ a small basket, awful tasting. Moved on the the pickled items, large selection but no tasting so take your chances. I had a couple things selected and saw that the guy behind the counter was on the phone while two customers were waiting, waiting. When a young lady clerk came he made motions to her on what to ring up and ended up throwing one client's squash on the floor. He was so engrossed in his phone call I'm not sure he noticed. My cue to leave. And I really wanted to try the deli sandwiches too. read more

When you're driving home from Kirkwood, you must must must stop at Clements Ridge Bakery for the ultimate tri tip sandwich. You can tell this place started out as one of those mom n pop stands and is now a fancier version of itself- barrels of homemade nut assortments, buffalo jerky, popcorn mixes, etc to snag for small holiday gifts. And the tri tip is the sh@#$#$%^t. Don't overload your sandwich with the long list of free condiments here- stick to the meat, maybe some bbq sauce and some red onion and you'll be happy you did. The counter staff and the guy who runs the shop are very friendly and helpful. If you know you want the tri tip on your way home, you can stop by earlier in the day and order it. They'll be sure to save some tri tip for you later in the day (in case they run out). How sweet is that? Outdoor table just off the main highway with plenty of parking. Also, take home a warm pie baked with local fruit from either their own farm or other local growers. The peach pie makes for a delicious breakfast the morning after a good day on the slopes. Like grandma used to make. (If my grandma could bake a pie). freakin tasty delicious. Mmmmm....pie........ read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place. First of all, Marry me! Second, divorce me so that we can get re-married. So this review is strictly for the pies. 1. if you're reading this and love apple pies, drive to Clements Ridge and buy yourself a few. You're welcome 2. If you ran out of pies, head back and re-stock. You're welcome. Seriously though, what do you do to these pies? They're like crack and I'm in need of my fix. ( of Pie that is. I stopped there in March 2019 and I enjoyed the selection of items. Maggie's Mustard is the best mustard that I have ever eaten. I was on my way to a wedding so I did not get any pie but they had so many to choose from. Love their pies.. and their sandwiches especially the tri-tip are delicious..

I absolutely love this little roadside gem! We stop here on the way to n from kirkwood and camping. The family is very down to earth, friendly and knowledgable on their products. The thing I really LOVE is they have all my essentials not even joking- fresh fruit for a good price, tri tip sandwiches, pot pies!!!!, lots of local wine, yummy homemade desserts and frozen items to go like local grass fed beef. This place always has great stuff! I always buy the apple pie for my parents because it is sooo good! However, the last time I went there, the pie was not the same. We were very disappointed because this was not the taste we expected from them. I called to tell them and they said that noone else has complained. I thought, excuse me? I guess as a regular customer, I do not count. I was expecting a replacement, since their pies are expensive. Nope. He didn't even say sorry. I haven't been back since. read more
