Driving through the Lodi area, I spotted Clements Ridge and decided to stop in--and what a great find it turned out to be! The first thing that impressed me was the incredible variety. They offer an assortment of pies, including a Chicken Tikka Pie, which immediately caught my attention. As someone familiar with the restaurant business, I loved seeing chicken tikka enjoyed in such a creative way--not just with garlic naan, but baked into a pie as well. Beyond the pies, the store features an excellent selection of locally made products, including dry fruits, honey, chips, nuts, candies, oils, and Indian food. I picked up some roasted salted jumbo corn and coconut candy, while we also discovered pistachios, garlic-flavored snacks, apple candy, tomato chips, and several other interesting treats. My wife particularly enjoyed browsing the variety of oils and ended up taking a few home. Adding to the experience, the people working there were very friendly and welcoming, and the convenient hours made the stop even easier. I also appreciate how strongly they support local and locally grown products. It's the kind of place where you go in for one item and leave with a bag full of goodies! I'll definitely stop by again whenever I'm passing through the area. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys discovering unique local foods and snacks. read more

We stopped on our way home from South Lake Tahoe. There were 3 RV's in our group and there was plenty of room to turn around and park. We were greeted, by the owner I believe, as we walked up. Everyone that worked there was very nice. They gave us a free bottle of water and a sample of the butter chicken on rice which we ended up ordering. It was very good. Our friends got sandwiches and said they were good also. Our friends also got a pie and one got a cream cheese brownie. I used to come here a lot when I was headed home from hiking or going out to the hatchery. My son and I would get homemade treats like Jordan almonds or flavored popcorn or, our favorite, a fresh baked pie. I hadn't been here in a few years, so when I drove by the other evening I made a point to stop and I wash shocked to see I had never reviewed this location. I was also surprised to see the state of the shop. It was not at all as I remembered it. The produce didn't look fresh and there was a layer of dust on items in the shop. They obviously have new management as they are now offering Indian food. I was interested to see that at first because I love Indian food, but after we got out and were looking around, I feel like it is actually a detriment to this place. I wanted to look at the pies but everything looked like it had been sitting and the smell of curry was thick. It's hard to get excited for sweetened farm fresh pie when you have a nose full of spice. That really put me off getting a pie. Still, I thought I would go with it so I decided to try some of the new menu instead since it was all I could smell. The menu is extensive and I tried to find someone to make an order but I couldn't find an employee so I ended up leaving. Stopped by yesterday to get a sandwich for a drive to Rancho Cordova. Cornered a smoked turkey, Swiss, avocado and French roll wis Dijon mustard and extra mayonnaise, got it payed and left. Opened to eat half, zero mayonnaise at all, tiny amount of bland turkey, small smudge of avocado without salt and pepper like I asked. Overall, dry, bland and completely unsatisfying! NEVER AGAIN! Roadside signs indicate the Tri tip sandwich is their specialty. It was awful. Dry and seemingly old. They were sampling the butter chicken, and I wish I had ordered that. I had been planning to buy a bunch of produce on my way out, but this is a place with higher prices for paying with a card. The checkout signs say it's a 3% charge, but the $12 sandwich priced at $14.16 plus tax. There are other produce stands on this road, and I'll go to them. read more

I don't remember if I've ever left only a one star review before. This one star is based on one visit and their strawberry pie only however. I've always wanted to stop here on our way back from Tahoe or Jackson. I doubt if I I'll be returning. It was my dad's birthday so I wanted to stop and get a "fresh pie." We bolted for their cool looking little pastry shop and found mucho pastries and pies for sale. It took more than a minute to get some help because there just wasn't anybody in there to help. When an employee did show up, he tried to push his chicken and rice dish but we just wanted pie. He gave us a sample anyway. It wasn't bad but like I said, I was there for pie. I chose the strawberry. So after singing happy birthday we dug into some homemade chocolate cake and the strawberry pie. It looked no bueno first off. It looked as if it was frozen, thawed, frozen, and thawed again. It had some dark paste looking substance inside, with dark weird colors, and only a funny little hint of a real strawberry smell. Unfortunately, stopping here was a big disappointment. The tri-tip sandwich ended up being a huge mixture of bread, lettuce, tomato, and very few slices of meat. Perfect if you're a vegetarian... also grabbed a pie, some garlic ships and corn nuts...way overpriced and bland. I was driving past unexpectly. I hadn't been there in about 8 years. Was surprised to see Indian food. The butter chicken was amazing. Took it home with some rice and naan. My kids are loving it. I also got a peach pie. And half an apricot pie. Peach pie is delicious. I didn't know until I got home that they cut the half a pie out of the pan and the filling had oozed out all over the box. Chicken tikka masala and lamb curry pot pies? How unique, not to mention delicious! Everyone was so friendly here. They offered us samples to try and the coffee and chai are also complimentary! Their food here is proudly all made from scratch. We got the two pot pies and they were so flavorful. The puff pastry was flakey and buttery too. We slightly favored the chicken tikka masala over the lamb curry. A bit on the pricy side, but worth it! For a few cents less, they also offer these frozen so you can take and bake. Been doing a few Tahoe trips lately to kirkwood and I'm glad we stopped along the way home to pick up some goodies. Their pies are deliciously worth it as advertised on the signs along the road. Something about how buttery the crust is and the flavor of the lamb filling was our favorite. Would go back for that alone, and spoiler we have. They even sell them frozen to go! We met a few staff members and they were great offering recs and samples to their butter chicken. The place is also spacious with good outdoor seating for a break. Definitely love the variety of this market and the many fun snacks, baked goods, drinks and foods they sell. Now that we are camping with an RV, we can bake pies. These are some darn good pies for that purpose! We got the Chicken Pot Pie and the Chicken Tikka Masala Pie. Both of which were excellent. They are not a 'cream' pie as is typical. I think they use ricotta cheese or something like it. It's really good. The fruit pies we got were blueberry and blueberry peach. Both of which were fantastic. Those are -real- peaches there. Not canned. Also, we got the Butter Chicken for dinner and that was awesome. A fragrant recipe, a little light on the tomatoes. Really yummy and probably one of the best dinners for our trip home. Very friendly folks running the place. They also have a decent fruit stand, some of the things there are gonna be good! read more

I have to give a huge shout-out to Clements Ridge Produce & Bakery! I'll admit, I was a little hesitant to try them at first. The business has clearly changed hands and the offerings are very different than they used to be. I'm not usually much of a risk-taker when it comes to food--especially unfamiliar ethnic dishes--but my fridge was empty, they were available on DoorDash, and I didn't feel like getting back in the car. I'm so glad I took the chance! First, the empanadas were absolutely beautiful--generously filled, fresh, and delicious. I also ordered a few bakery items to enjoy with my morning coffee, and they were fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Then came the tri-tip sandwiches. I ordered one on ciabatta and one on Dutch crunch, and both were outstanding. The meat was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. For dinner, I tried both the steak pot pie and the chicken pot pie... and wow. Comfort food at its finest. And finally, here's where I really stepped outside my comfort zone--I ordered the Chicken Biryani. It was incredible! Now I can't wait to work my way through more of their Indian dishes and curries. Beyond the food, their customer service was excellent. They communicated well, verified my order, and even delivered it promptly themselves. It's always exciting to discover a local business that's putting out great food and taking pride in what they do. I hope more people give them a try and help this local restaurant thrive. Man I trusted those guys knew what the heck they were doing - boy was I wrong - I ordered 3 samosas only no rice - how simple could that be - they handed me my bag (thinking I had my 3 samosas - two containers one had two the other had 1 samosa) and I went to pay. As I was ready to a pay a guy came out and gave me another container samosas saying these are complimentary - I said Ok (so I got 4 now). However the guy that was taking my card open the container and it had two - so I am thinking I have a total of 5 Samosas, but the guy at the counter said one order of Samosas includes two - So Ok I have 6 now right (that is what I paid for) - wrong - I should of checked the bag - instead of having 3 containers of 2 samosas each - they gave me one Samosa and a container of rice WTH!!! (initially) - plus the guy that came out gave me two more Samosas - so now I only have 3 samosas and a container of rice - but the guy rang me up for 3 orders of Samosas. Man am I stupid - always check your bag - you never know what is in it - plus now I am 1 1/2 hours away and stuck with a container of rice - only thing to note I did get my 3 Samosas but paid way more than I should have - Oh well Happy Eating everyone read more

The food here is so delicious and the people are so kind, the manager Karen especially is so helpful and sweet. Especially the amount of food you get is so good for what the price is, the pot pies are my absolute favorite. They also have a baker in the back who is such a cutie and she is a very funny sadly she's only there on weekends. This place is bomb! There are so many different selections, fresh produce, snacks, meat and fruit pies. The folks that work there are always so friendly and offer tastings of what's already made and serving up in their deli. They also have ice cream that the offer as a tasting as well. I frequent this spot a lot and their steak pie is KILLER! I've tried their berry pies (strawberry, boysenberry, berry....all EXCELLENT. Also picked up a chicken pot pie which was equally delicious and mango chutney which I have yet to use. Really friendly staff. We stopped here on the way to the rodeo and they gave us a free sample of the butter chicken. It was so good we had to come back for dinner. We stopped at the Clements fruit stand on our drive from Southern California to Placerville and I'm so glad we did! They had the biggest, sweetest pluots I've ever had, plus a great deal on a $5 watermelon. We also picked up pistachios, nuts, and fresh pastries -- the chocolate croissant, blueberry cheese, and strawberry cheese were all amazing! They even offered a sample of chicken masala -- unexpected at first for a fruit stand, but it was delicious! The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the prices were great. After not visiting Clements Ridge in a very long time, we stopped there on our way back from Murphy's. I didn't realize the ownership had changed. I used to purchase the chicken pot pies and they were amazing. I have one question... What happened to the chicken pot pies? I purchased one and it didn't look the same. The crust was totally different, so I asked the clerk about it and he said they changed the recipe and now used fresh ingredients not canned. He assured me they were still using all white meat chicken. Well I decided to give it a try.. I bright it home and baked it and it was absolutely terrible! The crust was some type of grain and the chicken was the weirdest texture as if it was ground up.. nothing like the original pies that had chunks of white meat chicken with a beautiful pastry crust. It was literally inedible! For $26.00 my chickens had a nice dinner. read more

I stopped by to try one of their dessert pies / meat pies and......what a disappointment. I got the steak pie and banana strawberry pie (personal size). Let me start with the steak pie....it literally tasted like pot roast and not steak....tasted very bland and definitely not worth the $10. The banana strawberry pie was just disgusting...one bite and I noticed 90% of it was whipped cream that tasted like the canned brand. The strawberry's were definitely not fresh as they were mushy and looked old...kinda reminded me of the frozen strawberry's you use for smoothies. The banana pieces were something else....Literally, they were brown and definitely not fresh. What a complete let down. It barely had a slather of pudding filling. Definitely not worth the $12... On a side note, while I was paying...the bakery employee came out and started yelling at the cashier in front of me. Totally unprofessional....i was like WHAAAAT. I paid a total of $27 for the 2 pies and a drink...what a total rip off. BTW, I would avoid the outdoor freezer that has the individual pies as they do not have expiration dates. If you see an "X" on it then it's on sale or in other words...expired. On a side note, the individual pies are marked as 5' instead of 5". We stopped in to get pies and sandwiches on our latest trip to Sutter Creek because of the good reviews, but we were very disappointed. I ordered a tri tip + swiss sandwich on a sour roll, but I was given the nastiest sliced white bread sandwich without cheese - 100% not worth the price and the meat was so stale/bland/chewy that it was almost inedible. The sandwich made me really sick to my stomach and I would never order a sandwich here again even if someone paid me - yuck. We trolled around the little shop for a minute, picking up snacks and treats here and there. Some of the snacks were pretty good (e.g. the coated almonds) but some of the snacks were a waste of money. We got three pies to go - chocolate silk, vanilla cream, and a fruit pie. They were okay. The consensus across the 10 people who shared the various pies was that they were comparable to the frozen Marie Callender's pies you get at any grocery store (but not as good as the frozen Claim Jumper pies), and these were not worth any special trip. We wouldn't come back here since it was a pretty penny for, at best - "meh" food and at worst - food that makes you sick. read more

This place used to be wonderful and full of produce/bakery items. Unfortunately our recent visit was lacking everything. Granted we did stop by on a Sunday afternoon, however, there was literally nothing to be desired. The bakery section was practically empty and the produce didn't have much of a selection and what was there looked old. This space inside use to be more open with room to walk around and browse, but now everything seemed cluttered with empty shelves. I decided to get some honey/jalapeño stuffed olives and an individual black/blueberry sour cream pie. I've never had a sour cream pie and probably never will if this is how they usually are. The pie was very dense with a thick crust and an air bubble at the bottom. It was awful...plus side was that it looked pretty! I will say that the gentleman at the register, along with the girl in the deli were very friendly and welcoming. Sadly that's the only good thing about this place. read more
