The students are disrespectful to the teachers and to each other. They don't listen to the teachers and are frequently playing games on their ipads rather than doing their assignments, and the teachers don't care. The teachers actually made me feel bad about myself. I felt like I didn't learn much at this school and my education was much better when I went to public school. The previous principal and the current principal both seemed out of touch with what was actually going on in the classroom and I did not feel supported by either of them. They are constantly asking parents for donations of items, time, and money, in addition to the tuition that they already pay. The fundraisers are constant. He's even went to the extent of making one of the little girls in his class cry. Our boys are enrolled in the Spanish immersion program, and it's amazing to see them thrive. We started them in the Spanish program in kindergarten, and now they're pretty fluent. Knowing that they're surrounded by good educators, families and kids gives us a piece of mind for our kids growth. I would highly suggest sending your kids to this school. You will not regret it!

Overall, there was a lack of passion for teaching and love for the children. The location was more of a daycare where they keep your child alive than teach them love. Teachers did not play with children. You could just see that they didn't love their jobs. I witnessed a few book reading times and singing times where teachers sung with dead eyes and flat voices conveying that they were just going through motions. I feel like a bad parent for subjecting my child to this place. I caution any parent considering this school to visit and pay really close attention to all interactions between the teachers, the leadership and the children. Don't just base your decision on your discussion with them. If, when you see the above dynamic show itself, move along to any one of the other great preschools in Redlands. She was in Mrs. Bareera and Ms. Prado's class. She has the best time there. Both the teachers are true to their profession. I had no problem leaving my princess there everyday because I knew she was in good hands. Today was the last day of her school. It was an emotional day for me as well as the teachers. I just want Mrs. Bareera and Ms. Prado to know that how much thankful I am for their love and support for my daughter, Inaya, during the school year. As far as I know and from my son's experience, he really enjoyed attending Cope and is excited about his 7th grade year. While 6th graders are very limited in what they can participate in, Cope offers interesting programs and opportunities for students to get involved and stay positively occupied. I appreciate being kept up to date by the school principal and assistant principal and look forward to attending the morning "pastry with the principal" this year. While my son has never been targeted by a bully, I have heard of these instances happening at this school but not at any rate that's not normal for middle school where kids will be kids. It's up to the parents to raise and reprimand their children at home and let them know at home BEFORE they get to the school, that that behavior is unacceptable. It's a regular middle school but I am glad to say that there's been no drama - at least in our school life at Cope. Maybe I missed it because we entered late, but hopefully there is a parent orientation this year that shows ALL the ways parents can stay up to date on school activities, etc. The website didn't offer many details about these clubs. The school website was not as interactive as I thought it should or would be, but it did the trick for the moment. I would like for the school to keep parents abreast of activities available for students. I know they are preparing responsible teens and young adults, but some students are slower than others at reaching this stage and I'm still responsible for exposing my child to things that will help him grow and learn so continue to keep parents notified.
