Got called a white supremacist for no reason by a teacher, but other than that it was pretty fun and the other teachers were chill.

My child began the summer program at VPS before entering preschool. She attended PS, Pre-K, and…read moreKindergarten before we had to move away. Since then, I've toured many school campuses to enroll her, and I can confidently say that VPS offers an exceptional academic program along with outstanding after-school options. One thing that really stood out to me was the weekly presentations my daughter did. I believe they were based on alphabet items, though I may be mistaken. Regardless, these presentations were wonderful for building confidence and public-speaking skills at an early age. The homework reinforced what the children learned in class, and the at-home projects helped them feel proud and capable just like the "big kids." The after-school programs are excellent. My daughter did imagination station, sprout and blossom, violin lessons, and homework club. It provides strong academic structure while also teaching manners, confidence, and responsibility. The staff is wonderful and truly knows every child. The only downside I experienced was when I requested a transcript for my child while applying to a new schools. I was told that transcripts were not available for those grades. I had asked if they could write a letter indicating they don't have transcripts or to create in for me but neither was done. After that, communication seemed to drop off, and it felt as though we were no longer a priority once we had left the school. Overall, I would still recommend VPS without hesitation. The tuition is also very reasonable for an IB and private school. I truly wish we could return to VPS or find another school just like it.

Our experience with Sage Oak has been amazing. This was our family's first year transitioning from…read moretraditional school to homeschooling, and from the very beginning we felt supported every step of the way. The registration process was smooth and easy, and I really appreciated all the classes, resources, and support offered to parents. As a first-time homeschool family, I had so many questions, and the one-on-one guidance we received helped us learn the apps, understand the systems, and get both of my boys comfortably settled in. The teachers my sons had in 4th and 5th grade have been absolutely wonderful. They have been supportive, encouraging, and truly made a difference in our experience. I have also been very impressed with the IEP support. The team reached out early, guided us through the process, and has been incredibly helpful throughout. We felt supported from the beginning. One of my favorite things is the transparency and technology. Parents have real-time access to student calendars, assignments, grades, and progress, which makes it so easy to stay involved and support our children. The materials, technology, communication, and overall support have been outstanding. Most importantly, I've seen such a positive change in both of my boys academically. We are truly grateful for Sage Oak and all they have done for our family.

My child on other occasions did homework with a classmate, yet got a low grade. This school has gone downhill with a lot of things, and will allow your child to fail. There interventions are a waste of time, they are not helpful and more of just asking questions about the homework itself, not really what you would call tutoring at all. Look into other Charter Schools! Do not waste your time!

I felt that the disciplinary…read morestandards were applied inconsistently, and I often had the impression that some students received more scrutiny than others. In my family's experience, my sister seemed to be singled out more often, which left us feeling that she wasn't being treated fairly. The vice principal, Mrs. Mazo, often singled out my sister for how she looked, with her saying, "You stick out more because you are blonde." After getting dress coded for her cross necklace that was tucked into her shirt. Rather than feeling supported, we felt judged, and it created a negative environment that made it difficult to enjoy being at the school. I hope the administration takes concerns about fairness and equal treatment seriously so future students have a better experience than we did.

Redlands Adventist Academy is a great Christian K-12 school. What makes this school different from…read moreother religious schools are the small class sizes, the caring spirit and the overall student body and parents that are kind and united in the goal of quality eduction. I've put three children in RAA and have been very satisfied with the supportive staff and camaraderie on campus. Tuition prices are reasonable for a private school and the benefits for your children are unquantifiable compared to the costs/downside of public education. With about 400 students, it's easy for the students to get on sports teams and not feel lost in the shuffle. Transfer students will be welcomed with open arms, as was my son who transferred from public school into 9th grade after witnessing the drugs, violence, and peer pressure that's tolerated in public school. For him, it was a life changing experience when he joined this school and it turned his life around completely. Sports are a big part of RAA and their soccer program has recently been a stand out, earning several championships at the middle school level. Redlands Academy has been a bright spot for Christian education in the Inland Empire for over 100 years and I would highly recommend this school to any family.
