I had used Tony and Clearwater to service my pool for almost 4 years. Service seemed okay, though I periodically had to chase them down to add salt when my salt levels and chlorine were low, or scrape algae off my walls when they didn't seem to be doing it.
However, I recently installed a heat pump and it wasn't working. I had the installer come check it out and he said the problem was my filter hadn't been cleaned in a very long time, so the pump had to be turned way up for the heat pump to work. The pump filter was also completely clogged with debris. I texted Tony and explained the situation. He was very apologetic and came by a couple days later to clean my filters and salt cell for what was probably the first time in 4 years. I subsequently fired Clearwater Pool.
I got my pool water tested after Tony supposedly cleaned my filters and added salt. Everything was off. I spent over $400 on chemicals, including 240 pounds of salt, and spent 3 days getting everything right. I also cleaned the filter myself since I figured Tony and his guys half assed it. I was correct. My filter was filthy just days after it was supposedly cleaned.
A month after I fired Tony and paid my last bill he had the audacity to send me a bill for over $300 for cleaning my filter, salt cell, and adding salt to my pool. These tasks are part of basic pool maintenance that I'd been paying for monthly, yet was never done.
