I'm the family member of Daniel, who wrote the 5-star review for Cervantes in 2020 but he's lost his account and cannot log back in. He cancelled our service out the blue randomly with a week's notice, leaving us scrambling to find another pool service company right when the summer hits - so he can avoid having to spend money on chemicals. He cut us off with a single text despite being loyal customers for over 5 years and having openly referred new clients to him. Tino and his crew were good in the beginning. But in recent years, the service and quality of Cervantes has gone down the tubes. One is that he can't keep his workers, so we were getting new workers every week who didn't understand the pool and weren't given any information besides "show up to this address at this time" by Tino. They were not set up to succeed because there was no knowledge handoff explained, they would come, sweep the pool in 5-10 minutes and then leave every week, completely incapable of handling changes in temperature and chemicals. It eventually got so bad in the final years we had to escalate Tino multiple times (who doesn't answer his phone) and the office (who appears to just be his daughter) is always unavailable - so no phone call would ever get through. Tino would begrudgingly then send out someone specialized who could handle the pool to turn it blue after the usual guys had left it green. This was a constant problem in our last 2 years with Cervantes, the constant battle between the unprofessionalism and the poor service rendered by the underpaid workers. When we would finally get a stable blue clean pool, the good worker would just leave a few weeks later and the whole cycle would repeat again. It's not Cervantes / Tino fault that he can't keep his workers. But knowingly sending poor workers to maintain pools, especially those of longtime customers, only fixing the problem when the pool actually deteriorates into a green dirty state, and then constantly nickel-and-diming people over chemicals to drive a buck is shameful. His treatment methods are outdated - he will regularly demand payments on $80 phosphate treatments multiple times a year arguing that the pool cannot be blue without it. In his final years, Cervantes began billing aggressively for random repairs and fixes AFTER THE FACT without any documentation or communication of the problem beforehand, which makes for a frustrating billing experience because you have no idea what you're paying for. We ended up finding out ourselves that the sweep that we had paid ~$200 in miscellaneous unexplained "repairs" for over the past 3 years is actually completely broken and we would have been better off just replacing the sweep entirely for just double the cost. We have been using this family-run pool service for just a few weeks and have been blown away with their level of professionalism, service, courtesy, and warmth. We were in dire need of a true professional pool service company for our rather large residential pool after going through so many different bizzaro experiences on Craigslist throughout the years. Often times, the pool service companies that we used in the past were one-man-shows who would start off well but suddenly crumbled once things got complex and tricky with the pool, especially around the summertime when the weather got hot. It was hard to believe if they were really licensed and unclear of their own capacity as they would start showing up in random late hours or missing entirely days. In other cases, they had different people show up to handle with filter cleaning or filling up the pool or pumping out water without any notice, which also can be a little unnerving. It was also common occurrence to get random upcharges for chemical costs when all that had initially been discussed ahead of time in one flat fee - result in awkward conversations that are a always a little confrontational in nature. With Cervantes Pool Service and Constantino, we have been blown away that our large pool has never been cleaner. Our past pool services had gotten the pool blue but always with some cloudiness. Constantino in our limited experience so far has been honest and warm and kind - each of his technicians have been punctual, on-time, professional. Overall, I can't recommend this company higher so far for those looking for a truly qualified, competent, professional pool company and tired of the Craigslist Jenga board of finding a pool service company. If you're not rock solid on your pool company, what will happen (this happened to us SO many times in the past few years) - eventually things will come to a head, the pool will start suffering and turning green, your current pool company will ask to be paid more to fix the pool...you have to evaluate and find another pool company...which you will have to pay more to get the pool "blue". It's a total headache to not have a superstar pool company and I can't say enough about Cervantes being that company. When we moved into our house with an older pool, Tino initially replaced the decades old equipment with a new and efficient heater and filter set up and has been providing weekly service. I received a raving referral to Cervantes Pool Service - both Tino and Steve have far exceeded my expectations! They are both extremely knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. My pool was lovingly maintained by its previous owners, but it was definitely in need of a lot of deferred work. Tino and Steve recently upgraded my pool controls and reprogrammed my solar panels at a very fair, reasonable price. I'm also super happy to see them weekly for regular cleanings. Tino and his crew are very conscientious and work hard keeping the pool sparkling clean. They are all easy to work with, reliable and pleasant to have around. Our pool is challenging because there are many large trees overhanging it and dropping debris all the time. We also want to keep the chlorine low because of sensitivity to it. They are doing a marvelous job of accommodating our needs, and for a reasonable price. We are delighted. read more

We switched to Cervantes Pool Service several months ago after suffering increasingly bad service by our previous pool service. Tino Cervantes is the owner with excellent employees who know what they are doing and are personable. They have been very reliable. Tino responds very quickly to my text messages. Unreliable service. I call their office multiple times and leave messages asking for help since they serviced my pool. Nobody returns calls and its very hard to communicate with their pool. Thankfully I stopped using their services now and will not be contacting them anymore...if I could give NO STARS, I would! read more

Outstanding service and very friendly attitude ! We have been using Cervantes pool service for 4 years. They clean and maintain our pool chemicals on a weekly basis. They never missed a visit and maintain an ongoing written log of your pool chemical measurements. We also contracted them for significant repair work on two occasions (concrete, piping, pump installation). They were very affordable and provided a fast service with high quality work. read more

Cervantes Pool Service has taken care of our pool for the last 17 years. The maintenance has always been very good and reliable. We recently upgraded our filtering system, which was done quickly and at a reasonable price. There might have been a time a few years back when there was too much work for this small company (hence the dissatisfied comments from past reviewers) but that is no longer the case as the staffing has increased. I feel fortunate to have had such a good service during all these years. read more

We hired this company this summer to take care of our pool. We have owned this pool for over 27 years. They immediately required a new filter and other changes which cost us over $1,200. The pool maintenance has been mediocre at best. What is worse is that we arrived home to find a neighbor on our doorstep because water was flooding the neighbor's backyard. We discovered an unattached pipe to equipment they had installed draining our pool into our neighbor's backyard. Our pool has been significantly drained. To add insult to injury, we have left at least 4 messages over the last couple of days with no return call. Do not hire these people. They are obviously incompetent, and worse, unresponsive. read more
