When I picked my car up they failed to reinstall my skid plate. After the terrible service and my requests to speak to the owner was declined by staff, I finally got ahold of him myself. I explained to him when the car was back in my possession it had a white substance in the interior and when asking the owner what it is his reply was "Hard to say. " He then proceeded to suggest it was absorball which is a harmful chemical and when I got even more upset at this, he recanted his statement claiming it was "dust" ... he then said they were fair to me and even if a dollar figure wasn't agreed upon it's "implied". He noticed I posted a poor review, and he told me he shouldn't even be looking into my claims because I had already given a poor review and it was a 'waste of his time.' He began to call me a Karen and told me he would post the video of me getting upset (rightfully so) in the shop, to his thousands of followers so that they could see how much of a "Karen I am" .. in my opinion, the staff and the owner are very un professional. I should get my car back how I dropped it off and any and all fees should be discussed in detail prior to a shop starting any work.

Within 10 minutes they identified the problem and provided me a solution that later worked. No fee requested. On April 14, I returned again without an appointment and explained further problems with my install. This time I suggested a consult fee to which they agreed. Looking up car specific fuse block information, they again identified the solution and requested I pull my car into the shop to show me the correct fuse block location for my application. Then as I watched using their supplies they did the final power supply install for the front camera. 15 minutes later all was working as the manufacturer intended. As a DIYer I like to learn by doing and in this case watching but if I did not, I wouldn't hesitate to contract them. I did not expect the additional installation using their shop supplies, so I doubled the consult fee which was still very reasonable. Thanks guys for treating a double walk-in so professionally. Throughout this process, I have never been given a clear completion date. Each time I ask for an update, I am told that they cannot provide an estimated finish date. As a customer, this has been very frustrating because I need to plan my transportation and daily activities. I understand that delays can happen due to parts shortages or unexpected repair issues. However, customers deserve regular updates and honest communication about the progress of their vehicles. Unfortunately, my experience has left me feeling that the service was not professional. I am extremely concerned and disappointed with my recent experience at CARSTAR Manotick…read more When I dropped my vehicle off for collision repairs, the odometer reading was documented at 174,894 km. When I received my vehicle back, the odometer read 176,124 km. That is 1,230 kilometres accumulated while my vehicle was in CARSTAR Manotick's possession. I did not authorize anyone to use my vehicle for anything beyond what was reasonably necessary to complete the repairs, and I cannot conceive of any legitimate collision-repair-related reason that would require 1,230 km of driving. To make matters worse, my brakes sound significantly worse than they did when I dropped the vehicle off, and I have discovered that an umbrella I kept in the vehicle is now missing. I have contacted CARSTAR Manotick management and escalated the matter to CARSTAR Canada. I have requested a detailed explanation of when, why and by whom my vehicle was driven, along with preservation of all records relating to its use while in their custody. I am withholding judgment about exactly what occurred until CARSTAR has had an opportunity to provide an explanation. However, the odometer readings are not estimates: 174,894 km when I dropped it off and 176,124 km when I got it back. I entrusted my vehicle to this business for repairs. Discovering that 1,230 km were put on it while it was out of my possession is completely unacceptable and has seriously undermined my trust in this facility. I will update this review if and when CARSTAR provides an explanation and advises how it intends to rectify the situation.
