We booked this cruise in advance of our first trip to Waupaca. We had a blast. The Chief Waupaca paddleboat is a great way to see the Chain of Lakes, especially with someone as knowledgeable as Captain Malachi who made the trip so interesting and enjoyable. Afterwards we had a wonderful meal at the restaurant (the burgers were wonderful and so glad we went with the recommended sour cream fries--delish!) We are already planning our next trip with friends to experience the Clear Water Harbor Boat cruise.

This was a great tour of the Chain O' Lakes. Decently priced. Cash bar for soda, water, and beer. I really enjoyed the history portions but I especially liked that upbeat, fun music was played in between the historical facts. Made for a relaxing and fun 90 minutes.

I don't know why the photo is sideways. This is a view taken from the boat.

The food is excellent and you can not beat sitting on deck listening to live music as the sun sets over the lake.

Yep! Full day fee no matter what. Whatever, fine we will pay the full day. We went from 11:30-5(losing the first three hours we still paid for). When we returned the boat I was told a white bumper is missing from the boat. It was in the front seat storage but I was still needing to pay an additional $40 to cover the "lost" bummer. So no I was charged not only for the three hours while it sat at the dock not using gas but now I have to pay for a lost bumper that's really there? What the unused hour fees couldn't have covered the bumper fee?? RIP OFF! And the gal who checked us out wouldn't even hear us out. NEVER would recommend this place for renting!! They just want your money vs even considering that maybe the customer is right?!? Don't worry Ding's dick will respond. I a well aware I paid for a full day when I didn't use a full day. That's not my complaint. Poor customer service!!! they had plenty of left over funds we didn't use to replace the bumper. We do have pics of the boat prior to us leaving the dock so the bumper was wasn't there so it wasn't lost in our time. The fact you're not even willing to work with a customer means it's all about how big your wallet can get anyway. We also had an injury in the water and if they truly are customer friendly where it the first aid kit on your boats? NONEXISTENT! The snarky email response this morning was the best to top things off. This place stinks!

Our boat was captained by Brian and his deck hand/entertainment of the night was Ben; both very professional and got us out and back in safely. Ben was fantastic on the acoustic guitar, excellent voice and sense of humor. It was a small group when we went but he still worked the crowd. The boat was clean and I appreciated that they had binoculars available in each bench seat so you could take advantage of seeing the sights. Ben also does some of the scenic tours so he threw in a few nuggets of info about the area in between songs but overall the focus was on the music and enjoying the views. Sunset was perfect! Would highly recommend.

It was a 1.5 hour interesting and enlightening guided tour highlighting elegant, historic, and hidden Cottage Row in the town of Gibraltar, the Strawberry Islands, and the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse. The all-in cost for us 2 seniors was $91.79. We boarded their boat named Quo Vadis and it has a capacity of 58 we were told. Betsy was our engaging and informative tour guide and she was a great local narrator and guide having been raised on nearby Chambers Island. From a nature and wildlife standpoint, we saw double-crested cormorants, white pelicans, a bald eagle, and a big eagle's nest along the way. Betsy added a lot of local color and flavor and trivia to the talk and it was just what I enjoyed hearing to gain more insight into this charming area. Big thumbs up and we would take another of their tours if we were up here at the right time and conditions again.

The…read moretour takes you along the beautiful Wisconsin River where you can see the famous rock formations of the Wisconsin Dells. Pictures really don't do it justice -- the cliffs and sandstone formations are much more impressive in person. The tour is about 2 hours long and includes two stops where you get off the boat to explore. One stop is at Witches Gulch where you walk through a narrow, mossy canyon that feels almost magical, and the other is Stand Rock where you can see one of the Dells' most famous rock formations up close. The guides did a great job sharing the history of the area, including how parts of the Dells were preserved from developers, which is why the scenery still looks so natural today. Overall it was a really relaxing and enjoyable tour. The views, the history, and being out on the river made it well worth it. Definitely recommend if you're visiting the Dells!

The boat ride itself was very enjoyable, and the captain, narrator, and his wife were all knowledgeable, entertaining, and made the trip fun from start to finish. Witch's Gulch was absolutely beautiful. The towering rock formations, lush vegetation, and narrow walkways made it one of the highlights of our trip. My only wish is that I could have experienced it with fewer people, as the crowds took away a bit of the peaceful atmosphere. The biggest drawback for me was how commercialized the experience felt. After walking through this stunning natural area, you arrive at a concession stand and gift shop, which made the experience feel less immersive and, in my opinion, diminished some of the area's natural beauty. I also noticed quite a bit of trash floating in the water near where the boats dock, which was disappointing to see in such a scenic location. I would have loved to see the tour place more emphasis on the area's natural history and its Native American heritage rather than the commercial aspects of the attraction. Fortunately, the second landing on the tour felt much more natural and less developed, and it was every bit as beautiful. Overall, the scenery alone makes the Upper Dells Boat Tour worth taking. While I wish the experience focused more on preserving the natural character of the area, Witch's Gulch is a remarkable place that I'm glad we had the opportunity to see. We also took a Duck Boat tour as a family while visiting the Wisconsin Dells, and it was a fun experience for both adults and kids. Our driver was friendly, funny, and did a great job keeping everyone entertained throughout the tour. The combination of traveling on both land and water made the experience unique, and our children especially loved the transition from road to river. The narration was enjoyable, with a good mix of local history, interesting facts, and humor that kept the ride engaging from start to finish. There were only a couple of aspects that took away from the experience. Just before returning to the ticket area, the tour paused for a presentation about the history of flooding in the Dells that transitioned into a sales pitch for souvenir booklets and a request for tips. We understand that this likely wasn't the guide's decision, but it felt a little out of place and interrupted the otherwise enjoyable flow of the tour. We also weren't particularly fond of the mandatory photo opportunity before boarding. While it's easy enough to decline purchasing the photo, it did make the beginning of the experience feel a bit more commercialized than we expected. Overall, though, the Duck Boat tour was a fun and memorable family activity. The guide was excellent, the scenery was beautiful, and it's an experience we'd recommend to families visiting the Wisconsin Dells.
