It seemed to be coming from the drain coming from the second-floor shower. I called and got Matt on the phone. What a pleasant person to deal with. He said he'd come right out and look at it which I was equally happy about. He looked and I told him the state that I was in economically. Him and his son Mike really worked for me. They did the job....cutting here....cutting there and replacing several pipes that were connected directly to the drain. They explained what they were doing so you know. I had freshly perked coffee (old school) on the stove waiting for them when they arrived, pumpkin spice glazed donuts, and bagels which they were very happy about. I gave Matt's son collectible records and books that had to do with sports and he was overjoyed. So...giving people valuable things and breaking bread with strangers....now new friends really affected the price....and you can't believe what a savings I was given. I was OVERJOYED. God blessed me today....and Matt and Mike from Master Plumbing & Drain Cleaning blessed me today. I couldn't be happier. My accurate rating for them is A++++++++++!!!!!!! That's 10 pluses. These twits will leave you with more damage than you started with then overcharge you for incompetent, sloppy work then go cry about how they're doing the best they can and they don't understand why you're dissatisfied with the extra damage that they'll deny they even caused. Find yourself an actual decent plumber, these guys do crap work and then charge an arm and a leg for it. If you do have the misfortune of hiring them, take before pictures so you have proof how sloppy their work is. The owner that answers the phone is a defensive and whiney little prick with zero people skills and if you insult him or his guys' work he threatens to send his guys back over to "talk." And if you point out that their work is not complete he'll say "you must have money issues." Strong words coming from a plumber. The guy he sent didn't even have all the proper equipment and had to use my tools. Unfortunately that crook already made off with my check and he threatened to call the cops when I confronted him about the job I paid for not being done and then blocked me. Avoid these clowns. The owner is a crook and a crybaby. And to the owner - don't worry about coming back, you muppet. I fixed the problem myself. Sad little owner also censors reviews on his own website only approving 5 star reviews to make himself look good. Avoid at all costs.

I called these guys and they sent a team over to my place within half an hour. The first two people on site were courteous and nice to work with. They even insisted on putting down drop clothes to make sure they didn't get my floor dirty (even though I insisted it wasn't a problem). James then came by slightly afterwards, to check in and see how everything was going. He talked me through everything he was looking into, and then offered a few suggestions of what we could do to fix it. There were even a few small things James noticed when he was here (our kitchen sink had a slight leak, and a pipe was installed incorrectly, and James took the time to fix those for free). Even though we found out our house is going to need a bit more work, James wasn't pushy and told us the best next steps-if we'd like to move forward. Anyways, all around it was a good experience for a problem I was not looking forward to-so I really appreciate working with James and his team.

After having my sewer line run by Rotor-Rooter several times over the past 30 years, each time in response to a recurring backup, I decided to try the local company, United Sewer & Drain Cleaning. The last straw came a year ago when the Rooter guy came out for a backup and told me it was probably just a momentary clog and sold me a jug of root eliminator instead of running the pipe. When the washing machine rinse water flooded onto the floor this week, I decided there had to be a better choice. When I saw the root incursion on United's camera, no amount of chemicals was going to fix that problem. United first snaked the pipe then suggested their "root rat" water pressure cleaning. When I saw on video what was happening in my old clay pipe (my house is 1830s vintage) I was shocked. The Rooter guys over 30 years and four visits had done nothing more than punch a small hole in a solid net of roots occurring every three feet -- length of the pipe between joints. United's crew ran the pipe and the snake came out covered in roots, as it has in the past. Unlike Roto-Rooter, they diagnosed the problem and offered a solution. The next day United's Sam and Sam Jr., father and son, spent five-and-a-half hours patiently working that pipe with a high pressure water jet that strips the roots but does not damage the pipe. He was careful to make sure no sewer water backed up into the house. What little did he caught in a bucket and carried away. It was a significant investment, $1,800. But seeing the before and after video of the inside of the pipe was worth every penny. Now my sewer line is root-free for the first time in the 30 years I've owned it, probably longer. Plus Sam gave me a plan to keep it that way including a maintenance schedule. If you've ever had sewage back up into your basement, you'd understand why the confidence that my pipe is sound and root free is worth the cost. United did a great job. They showed me everything on the video camera. They truly cared about solving my problem now and forever. And they left my basement cleaner than when they arrived. I highly recommend United.
