My friend and I decided to try cleansing concepts because of all their positive reviews. My friend decided to go to the manhattan location because it was closer to her and i made the mistake of choosing garden city. Don't waste your time going to this location. 1) NO ONE ANSWES the PHONE. i had to make my appointment through the manhattan location. 2) Everything the manhattan location told me was going to happen at my first visit did not happen with Deborah. I was told that the colon hygienist is suppose to assist you through the first session and also, show you (if you'd like) the contents emptied in the end as part of the analysis. None of that was asked. 3) colon hygienist/ manager was not friendly from the beginning, no welcoming first time welcome, no thorough explanation. Not a relaxing atmosphere and Deborah is certainly not a calm individual. The entire time she was on edge and i had to ask myself numerous times why is she yelling at me?. Had colon hydrotherapy done there about two weeks ago. I'd previously purchased a package of 3-4 sessions and on that day it was my last session. As I was leaving the receptionist\tech at the front desk asked if I wanted to schedule my next appointment. Stated I should have another session done right away. I said "sure". I asked her how much it would cost and her response to me was to wait until after Labor Day and buy a session on Groupon. THIS IS SOMEONE WHO OBVIOUSLY WORKS FOR CLEANSING CONCEPTS AND SHOULD KNOW THE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES. Went in today for my colon Hydrotherapy that I scheduled was told I can't use the Groupon. Groupon is only for 1 st time patrons. I explained the above and was told the best thing they could do was let me use the Groupon but charge me the difference if $31. If you ask me sounds like the classic bait and switch. I'm turned off from this place. Will not go back nor recommend anyone to try it. I had lymphatic drainage, fit wrap & ionic foot detox done. The experience was okay. I felt rushed to exit the room after fit wrap & was there over 3 hours for these services. There's only one machine for lymphatic drainage & it takes an hour. I don't feel the tech did a great job with lymphatic drainage. This woman knocked on door while I was in there receiving instruction to tip the tech. She could have did all that on her time when she was with her. My mom said she didn't glide the wand slow enough and cover certain areas of body. I agree with my mom and I didn't get the wand to go over my head inwhich the tech did that with my mom. I was slightly uncomfortable with fit wrap. It was so hot and the tech didn't put on fan plus gave me some lukewarm water that didn't taste good. There was another tech that came in to check on me that turned the fan on and provided cool water. The foot detox was just okay. You can see the water change & there's a chart that tells you based on the color what are the problematic areas. No one help us get up nor down so be careful when climbing up to be seated. The towel that was given to wipe off & dry feet was the size of a wash cloth. You would think they would provide better towels with all the money they make from these services. *The lymphatic drainage is a hour, fit wrap is an hour & foot detox is 23 minutes. ** I think the services would have went better if the owner was there. This lady was turned away because she came the wrong the day. I had a Groupon and had no problem when using it when making my appointment... I was taken to a rm explained how things work. After reading the praiseful reviews on Yelp, I decided to get a Groupon to try this place out. I am glad I did. Even though I live far, it was convenient to get there. Ample parking and appointments every other Sunday. As most persons have already mentioned, the place is impeccably clean. I would also like to add that the rooms are well designed. A clean, convenient toilet and sink to wash your hands is in the same room. However, these fixtures do not make you feel like you are in anything but a room that promotes relaxation and focus on "letting go" and not only in physical terms. At first I was surprised when told the sterile tube was going to be inserted by the client. However and in hindsight, I know realize it is not a bad idea. If a heavy-handed practitioner inserts the tube it could be uncomfortable. And here, I did have opportunities to ask questions. Perhaps, they could have given some tips on nutrition etc. and overall health maintenance but in general I am very happy with my experience. Came back for another infrared sauna on 12/29/16 and the sauna was nice and toasty!!! The issue....not allowing it to adequately warm. I visited cleansing concepts because of a groupon I purchased. I had no problem making an appointment. There was a detox i had to follow before coming in but i totally forgot. I arrived and this place is very serene and welcoming. The front desk receptionist is very nice. I waited and within 5 mins I was taken back to the room where Vanessa explained how to insert the tube and that she would be back to turn on the water. The experience was great. I felt so "light". The groupon included an ionic foot bath and it was supposed to show all the toxics in your body. The place is very clean and that's where my positive experience stops. I've had colonics before and my understanding is that a technician should stay in the room with you and massage your belly. At this place, it's all self-service: the girl tells you to insert the thing and then to massage your stomach the entire time and walk out of the room, then she comes back to tell you that your time is up. i don't know where to begin - i have been coming to cleansing concepts for a couple of years because i always want my body to function optimally. i have been very stressed lately and haven't made it there in a quite a while. i started feeling very fatigued, a bit moody and my body was changing in a way i couldn't understand or reverse. i had been eating as usual and exercise like mad!! i emailed vanessa and told her i wasn't feeling well, i asked her if she could recommend a juice cleanse and also put me in for 2 treatments of the colon hydro cleanse. she responded to me within hours to say that she had her own juice fast (IT'S DELICIOUS) that would be delivered straight to my door within 48 hours and gave me 2 appts for that week. i have so much more to say - but i hate reading long reviews, so i hope this helps! This was my very first time doing a cleanse of this type & had no idea what to expect! It was scary but the girl put me at ease. Have to say I had a lot of cramping but they said it was pretty normal. It was the strangest feeling ever and nothing really happened until almost the end of the session. Once it did happen it felt so liberating. I hadn't gone in almost a month and once it began to happen it fe,t like it would never stop! I'm still teeing to wrap my head around the whole thing since I have nothing to compare it to ya know. The girls recommended a total of 3 sessions to cleanse the 3 stomach chambers so I would have to go back 2 more times. I forget the cost since I bought it on groupon a while back.
