Communication via Yelp was quick and concise, though there was something of a language barrier with the workers who arrived to do the work. Translation app solved that problem. Overall, a good value for the money; would use again!

I didn't realize this is a matching service when I contacted them. I think their business model is…read moreto hire customer service reps from abroad then match you with local small businesses. This is a problem, because: 1. Each time I emailed, a different person answered. Probably 20 emails over 1 week were arranged before I could get a quote and schedule cleaning. Because emails would usually arrive late at night or around 2-4AM, I guessed the emailers were located outside of the US. 2. Phone calls are not effective. Email info could easily have been conveyed in a 5-minute phone call, but when I called, the representative didn't know anything about scheduling. 3. A third-party cleaner comes to your house. This means there isn't consistency in quality. The cleaners complained that there was too much work and that it would take a 2-person team 4 hours to do the work (clean 1.5 bathrooms, put about less than 10 dishes in the dishwasher). One worker did dishes only during this time (at $40/hr, that's about $4/dish). The other cleaned the bathrooms. And of course they finished in less than 1 hour. 4. Communication with the third-party cleaner was poor. After all the time I spent emailing about what would be included, none of the details they asked about were conveyed. This was part of the time I paid for, because 1 worker called their supervisor to try to get out of doing the work.

I just had my first experience with BerryClean. It's been very impressive from…read morestart to finish. Many thanks to Carol, Abigail, and Lucia for saving me hours on a job I would have done poorly I needed a deep clean of a long-neglected unit at the back of the property that was being used for storage, sort of like a glorified tool shed to which the outside had started to invade. Getting a quote via text was easy, and they were able to schedule me a few days out. I texted occasionally with questions that came up and they always got back to me within 30 minutes. For the day of the job: they had a cancellation and offered to bump up my appointment, which was great. Carol, Abigail, and Lucia showed up on time and were very friendly. Honestly I was embarrassed to show them the condition of the unit, but they got right to work and are obviously extremely skilled, as this was a very tough job. I was really pleased not only with how thoroughly they cleaned it, but also how efficiently. I also opted for a deep clean of an area rug, which looks very good now. After this experience, I'm planning to hire BerryClean to clean the rest of the rugs, as well as a deep clean of my home when the time comes. I didn't do too much price comparison, but this is really hard work, and the quote seemed fair to me. It's not the type of work you want to cut corners on. Great customer service was the icing on the cake.

There were a couple areas left untouched (entryway table and above the fridge) and a broken candlestick. I understand mistakes happen, but it was not reported, just propped up to hide that it was broken. I reported the issue and a service rep got back to me and ending up giving me a small refund of $40. Despite these issues, I was still planning to give them another try. Fast forwards several weeks, I received a text message about a promo and decided to move forward with booking, with a willingness to commit to several cleanings with this company. I was told that I had been scheduled and confirmed, only for 10 min later to receive another message stating "After reviewing availability and internal guidelines, we're not able to move forward with this promotion." I asked if this was because of my feedback from my initial appointment and received no response. I then decided to try calling and it was at the time I realized that I was blocked. I find this very weird and unprofessional, and thusly would not recommend their services.

Initially, communication was responsive. I was told what services were included and that the day I wanted was completely open. However, when I mentioned I needed to call back before confirming, I was suddenly told availability might not remain open, which felt somewhat high pressured. When I called back, I was informed I needed to sign a waiver related to my sensitivities. I completed the waiver promptly, but I never received clear follow-up confirmation to finalize the booking. I followed up later that same day and again over the next two days by phone, but received no response or update. I completely understand if a company decides they can't accommodate a request, but losing communication with a potential customer after having them complete paperwork felt unprofessional. A simple "we're unable to move forward" would have been appreciated. Their pricing was also on the higher end compared to other companies I contacted. I ultimately hired another cleaner who had excellent communication, respected my fragrance sensitivities, and did impeccable work. Sharing this so others, especially people with fragrance sensitivities or accommodation needs, know that communication may be inconsistent.

Once I disclosed that another company had already cleaned the room, I was told they do not like taking jobs previously cleaned by other companies and that I should ask the original cleaners to come back instead. The response honestly felt dismissive, and almost as if they no longer wanted the job because I had not chosen their company first. What confused me most is that the room still clearly needed cleaning regardless. It also left me wondering whether they would have accepted the job normally if I had simply never mentioned that another cleaner had already been there. I understand businesses can choose what work they take on, but the interaction felt unprofessional and disappointing after already discussing pricing and the scope of the cleaning.
