Justin Carter especially has been nothing short of a literal perfect technician to have visit our home. On top of what they've already done for us, they just completed a complete replacement of our fireplace (top to bottom) due to a flue fire last season that they thankfully detected on our yearly inspection. The work they did was flawless, couldn't be happier with the work and craftsmanship they put into the repair. ALSO got 100% covered by insurance because Smoke Alert is so diligent with their inspections along with documentation, we had no issues whatsoever getting our claim handled which is LARGELY thanks to Smoke Alert through the years. HUGE relief submitting this to our insurance company knowing we had our Smoke Alert track record and their meticulous documentation. If you don't have "a guy" yet for your fireplace inspections/work and safety recommendations, you should definitely check this company out. 10/10

Birds kept getting in the vent, and every vent option I looked at had safety issues (cage around it that could collect lint, etc.) I called Smoke Alert (www.smokealert.net), which is run by firefighters, and they responded out, completely cleaned the vent and the dryer's internal vent, measured the airflow before/after (250 pts increase) and also put a much better vent on the back that was a heavier metal lid held closed by magnets. When the dryer is on it opens but otherwise stays closed, keeping birds out. Justin showed up exactly on time, did a fire safety check as well (smoke alarms, etc.) and recommended fire extinguishers and proper location, along with some other tips like clip-on flashlights in each bedroom, safety ladders for bedroom windows, etc. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend.

I had my ducts cleaned in November after having some major construction done within my home. The…read moreowner of All HVAC Services had referred me to ZeroRez stating that in his opinion, they were the company that did the best duct cleaning from any of the companies he'd seen. So, I called & set up my services. The two guys that came out were professional and did a great job cleaning the ducts as well as the dryer vent. They stated that everything was back in place, turned the lights off in the attic & closed the door. They provided before and after photos of the inside of the vents. I was happy with the work. Stupidly, I didn't think to go in to the attic to double check. I even referred some of my neighbors to ZeroRez. That was until I recently had an issue with my a/c which prompted me to go in to the attic with All HVAC Services owner. When we went in to the attic, we found some of the ductwork laying on the floor & the webbing that had previously held the ductwork in place was cut & laying on the insulation in my attic. Needless to say, I was pretty upset. The owner of All HVAC Services told me to contact ZeroRez to let them know, so I called. That was almost two weeks ago & still haven't received a call back from a manager. All HVAC Services owner was apologetic since he referred me to ZeroRez. The owner fixed the duct work and added it to the other items I had to have fixed. In the end I'll say, the initial cleaning was great. Neither I, nor the HVAC team could figure out why ZeroRez cut the webbing from the duct work as this was not necessary and ended up costing me more money. They could have at the very least notified me that they had to cut it for whatever reason, but failed to say anything. I could have had it fixed right away if I had known. ZeroRez customer service, when it comes to issues/complaints is not good. I expected more given the way the company initially started its service with me. I'm very disappointed in the overall outcome and tbh, not sure I'll recommend them to anyone else.

TL;DR: Aggressive and rude worker. Doesn't respect your time at all. Owner first tried to shame me…read moreinto not posting a review, then tried to bribe me (see pics.) Since I posted a review on Google, he sent several fresh insulting and text messages to my partner. Since I understood that the ducts in my house might be old and need to be replaced, rather than go with the previous company I used, I found Dynasty Ducts. I called this company and asked them to come and clean my ducts. They tried to end the call without mentioning the cost, but after asking told me that the cleaning would be $200-300 and that was the only charge ever mentioned. First the person coming to clean my ducts called me 45 minutes before a 2 hour window, at 8:15 AM. When the duct cleaner pulled up, he didn't introduce himself and mumbled as he followed me into the house staring at me, as though I should know where to begin. After I asked him if he wanted to start inside or out, he began. After several minutes, he informed me that my ducts were of a type that can't be cleaned and they would need to replace them. When I went to ask questions, he just shoved a paper in my face, loudly speaking about code in an incoherent fashion. He followed this up by telling me that he needs to cut a hole in the lower ceiling and/or upper floor to replace the duct. When I tried to explain to him that that was unnecessary as the duct is not between floors, he began speaking louder over me to tell me I was wrong and the only place the duct could be was between the floors. After he got tired of talking over me and not answering any questions, he called his manager who never actually spoke to me despite being told twice that he was on speakerphone. Insultingly, he spoke only to his employee who then relayed it to me. While on speakerphone. The best part of the in-person interactions is that after they informed me that they aren't going to clean the ducts and would have to replace them by unnecessarily ripping my house apart, he then informed me that there was a $50 fee for coming out. This was never expressed prior to this, the only pricing ever mentioned by the company/owner were for the cleaning itself. Had this owner asked a few simple follow-up questions then they would not have come out here, e.g. asked what kind of ducting is already installed to see if it can be cleaned. My partner tried to call and complain about the service. Rather than being apologetic and calm, the owner continuously talked over her every time she attempted to talk. She informed him that the call was over and hung up. He immediately tried to call back, but was ignored. The real fun begins after this, when he began texting directly. I've included screenshots below of both sides of the conversation. As you can see he starts out with calling previous companies a "scam" and closing with a vague "that is on your karma." My partner returned a message already talking about how we know codes change, things might need to be replaced and we were open to that, but wanted better service than over-talk and being ignored. He then threw me under the bus, saying I don't understand codes, despite me asking questions and trying to explain to them both (the worker whose name is still unknown and the owner) that ripping the house up was unnecessary. He then devolved into condescension and talking down as though we hadn't already both tried to talk to him about these actual codes. My partner sent another message explaining, again, that the problem is not the codes and that it needs to be replaced, but that the "customer service" we received was very poor and that was our issue. He was then told the conversation was over. Despite this, he decided to send another text. In this one, he offered to refund the arbitrary $50 fee IF AND ONLY IF I didn't post a review. I did not accept his offer, as I feel more people should see this and understand exactly how he came to have such high reviews despite such awful service.
