After departing the first restaurant we tried, we drove almost 20 minutes to get to Randall's. The…read moredesire for a big ole plate of biscuits and gravy will drive a person to do strange things.
Anyway, when we finally pulled into the parking lot, it was just about 10:50 a.m. local time. We walked to the front door and saw a hand-written sign stating that they'd be closing at 11, since they were short-staffed. We almost had a group meltdown, haha. But, they welcomed us in and sat us at a booth with no hesitation.
My dad and husband both ordered the "Hungry Man" breakfast platter ($9), and my mom and I both ordered the Two Egg breakfasts ($8), plus we all got coffee.
For my plate, I got eggs scrambled with cheese, plus bacon and the gravy biscuits. Mom got hers with scrambled eggs (no cheese), and the same sides. My hubs got sausage (theirs are patties), gravy biscuits, two eggs over-medium and grits. My dad got bacon, grits, eggs over-hard, house potatoes with onions and a side of grits.
The food was fresh and filling, and quite tasty. The biscuits - which were the one thing we all wanted - were fluffy and smothered in their southern gravy, which was more savory than I expected...if that makes sense. We all really liked the flavor.
The final bill, after taxes and tips, was just under $40, for all four of us. Not a bad deal for a quick and tasty meal.
