I had a consultation done for drainage issues happening in my backyard. From the beginning, the…read moreowner, Michael Ellington, seemed annoyed to be there. He did not respond to either email requesting the consult, and then when I called to try to set one up over the phone instead, he answered the phone "Hello", which annoys the crap out of me when people are running a business. I don't know you, and you don't know me, tell me who you are and who you represent! Anyway, he never confirmed our appointment, and because he was "in the field" at the time of the phone call, he wasn't able to write it down. I had to take off work in order to meet him for the consult, so I decided to verify he was planning on coming prior to taking off work. Glad I did, he of course did not have me in his calendar or on his schedule. To my surprise, he did actually make it out to my house. As I show him the problem, he expected me to tell him what I wanted done. I don't want anything done, I have a drainage problem, you tell me what I NEED done, I'm no drainage expert. He asks me what I plan on doing with my yard in the future. When I tell him next year we might put in a pool, he decides to tell me why that is a bad idea, how much it is going to cost me, and why would I ever purchase a house without a pool existing . I about threw him out of my yard. He has absolutely no customer service skills, and I wouldn't put much faith in him having any actual yard skills either. He quoted me for a french drain with a pump, which he said would be "pushing it" to work against gravity. Good grief, give me a solution that you know is going to work, especially if you are going to quote me for nearly a $6,000 job....on a might work scenario, I don't think so. My search for a drainage solution continues....
