Opened our pool, said our pipe to our heater was leaking and would be back the next day to fix it. It's been three weeks and they have not communicated with us after repeated messages. Even better our sensor for our chlorinator is not detecting water flow after they bypassed our heater. Was optimistic, but terrible customer service. Recommended by Andrew Pools, don't use them even if recommended. read more

This is the worst pool service known to man. They will charge your card for payment for services that have not been performed, performed in part or simply never show to complete a job. They do NOT communicate with customers, leave you high and dry, and worst of all refuse to inform the customer if their pool is safe for use. They insult and call customers names for simply inquiring as to safety issues re: chemicals and children. It is now June 12 and my pool was to be opened and ready to use Memorial Day weekend. The heater was never turned on and we do not know if our pool is safe for our children to swim in. Do not use this company!!! Anyone else would be a better choice. read more

Zero stars. I am a former client that switched pool companies for last year's season due to their terrible service the year prior. Two years later, and no request for service, they showed up to our house and removed our pool cover. Once they realized they were at the wrong house, they replaced the cover but only attaching half of the hooks. This left massive gaps where our two toddlers could easily have slipped through. Luckily, we were alerte that people were in our backyard and we checked our pool area. When we called to request a call back and to fix the cover, they never returned our call or apologized and just once again came unwelcomed in our backyard, slipping through our fence. This is the epitome of our experience with them - both as a client and not as a client. read more

Every poor review regarding clean and clear pool service is a 100% accurate .We just recently used them to open our pool and got sent a bill for $734.00. for an opening and cleaning which involved "vacuuming ". I have called several times and can't seem to get anyone there to call back . They did send out a crew a second time unannounced and the pool looks exactly how it did from their previous visit. Not to mention there inability to communicate as we have small children and they shocked the pool a second time and didn't bother to tell us . As well as their inability to be able to shut and latch pool gates both times left the gates open . Worst decision I have ever made . These guys should really find a new line of work !!!! read more

We opened our pool and finally Memorial Day weekend came around, which we specifically made plans to use it. Well, after multiple calls beginning 2 days before, no one showed up. Courtney the receptionist has been telling us " someone is on the way" and I don't know if they are driving from the other side of the country for this service or what but they still have not showed up. It's been 8 days now and STILL no one has come. This has been so discouraging to keep getting confirmation emails that I no longer trust them or find them reliable. Last year I noticed issues when I saw 2 service techs. come for cleaning except they sat in their car for 20 min and then drove off. I actually pulled my phone out to record it in case they gave me a hard time with billing. I thought to myself, let's give them another shot but not anymore. The kids are so tired of waiting that they decided to go to their friend's house to use their pool instead. I highly recommend you Don't use them. read more

We were given the number of this company from the previous owner of our home. After a few call attempts, I finally got Mike on the phone, he scheduled an opening and said that he or Bobby would be there to walk us through how to maintain the pool, as I explained to him that we are new to pool ownership. His crew came on a Saturday morning and I asked them to let us know when they were ready to give us a walkthrough of how to use the equipment and test the water. They left without saying good bye, and now I have been trying to call the company every day and no one will pick up or return my voicemails/emails. We have no idea how to keep our pool clean and safe, and I am pretty sure that with each day that goes by, we are reversing the $700 opening that we were charged. We of course received an invoice, but no advice about how to maintain the pool. read more

Mike Taylor and the people who work for him are rude and arrogant. I was told by the person answering their phones that they don't have to have good customer service because they have 100 other customers waiting and that they flat out don't care...This was after spending 700 dollars with them to open the pool. After they supposedly vaccumed the pool, the next day it was FILTHY, they took our pool broom, and they jerry rigged the polaris so bad that the hose never stays connected (after 3 days of use). My pool is MURKY and dirty and they left me high and dry. People who do business like this are scum. read more

We were having problems with our pool heater. The original pool service couldn't figure it out. Another local pool and spa service figured it needed a replacement part (they were right) but never got it for us, despite a month of our phone calls and reminders, saying that it was out of stock with the distributor. Called Mike at Clean and Clear, and he was out with the part the same day. The heater was on its last legs, but he nursed it along for two more years before we finally sprung for a replacement. Use them for opening and closing, and the staff knows what they are doing. read more

The nicest group of guys to ever work at my home. After having two other pool companies work on my Jandy control system and $1500 later my controls were still not working. Go figure, they lost my business over a $1.58. You see I hired them last year to close my pool (wasn't happy with the lack of response from the last pool service) and while they did close my pool they lost the tabs for the pump timer (turns the pump on and off). I contacted the owner and he said he would have somebody drop a new set off. Well now it is spring and no tabs, but i received an email from them asking to confirm a pool opening date. I responded saying I always open my own pool (which I told him last year), but that I still needed the tabs for my timer. Long story short, no email response, called several times with no response, and ended up going to Home Depot to buy the part. With tax it came to $1.58, funny since they charged me about $500 (a bit high) to close my pool. So if nothing goes wrong and you don't mind spending a bit extra hire them, but should something go wrong, I believe you are on your own. read more

Steer clear from Clean & Clear Pool Service in MA. The owner measured and installed a new Meyco pool cover that left a section of our brand new gunite pool exposed to leaves, winter elements and small animals. The owner dealt with us and he agreed to order a sturdy snap-on patch to resolve the gap issue. We agreed and felt confident it would be handled properly. Finally Michael knocked on our door in the dead of winter and claimed he fixed the problem and requested final payment. Shame on us for not checking the patch. Michael stuck a loose noodle-like plug in the gap without snaps or secured restraints. After 2 days of unreturned phone calls, we called our bank to stop payment. Then we learned that Michael drove to a bank to cash the check an hour after leaving our house. The check cleared and he ignored all our phone calls. Pool cover cables snapped along the weak section during the harsh winter of 2010. We had to pay another company to drill four new cable clips, but the gaps still remains to this day. read more

If I could rate this company with less then one star I would. HORRIBLE!! Everything from the person answering the phone to the service and equipment. They were scheduled to open our pool middle of May. Came home first week in April and they were opening it up. I was surprised and mentioned they wern't suppose to be here until May (I didn't want to add to my electric bill too early with the filter running). They informed me they would leave the cover out so I could close it back up and come back in May! We had a filter installed and per their recommendation went with the most expensive one with two speed time clocks. The speed clocks were on back order and thus the filter never turned on when it was suppose to nor did it slow down when it sensed activity in the pool.. that was two years ago. Timers never showed up and after weekly phone calls, we gave up. WEll guess what did show up, the bill of course!! The filter job has never been finished. As the previous writer had mentioned you can't get anyone on the phone to help you!! Andrews pool in Billerica will recomend this company and not sure why. I have monitored thier raiting on BBU and they have been consistently had a D! rating!!!! Recently they changed their location/address and now are an A? Just had a neighbor install a pool thru Andrews and she didn't listen to us when we said stay clear of clean and clear. She recently called us to confess and ask us who we switched too becuase her husband is beside himself with fustration with dealing with Clean and Clear. read more
